    Thanks for this video! We have a need for additional i-gates in my area and I can't wait to get this set up.

    Great tutorial. Looking forward to you building on it with some of the other APRS functionality that you have been working on.

      Thanks, yeah I can't wait to dive into this more. I have some unrelease code for the APRS network I'd like to finally release.

    Happened across this the other day and was able to implement it with items i had on hand, thanks for the great tutorial.

    Thank you so much for this.. I'm planning on doing this, but instead of using the rtlsdr I'd like to use an old scanner...

    Great video! I love your SDR videos. Do you find that with the RTL-SDR (receive only) iGate that your HT will continue to send messages since it doesn't get an "ACK" message transmitted back from the iGate verifying receipt?

      If GPS is enabled I might hear the station from another digi, although having a small digi would be better than an iGate in this case.
      I will likely set up something more full time that can do both directions

    This is extremely cool. I may need to give this a try.

      Let me know if you do, there's a lot that can be done here and using an SDR is one way to get an iGate running without having to buy or dedicate a radio for the purpose, not to mention you won't have to worry about building an interface cable for the radio/pc.

    There is an android app which lets you use an SDR to create an igate, no computer required.

    Can you do a tutorial on unitrunker p25 phase 2 I got it set up with 2 rtl sdr but when I press play the site window is not showing and the reason why I said phase 2 is because Harris county used txwarn

    • @SignalsEverywhere
      @SignalsEverywhere  3 года назад +2

      I'll take a look at unitrunker, it's my least favorite to set up which is why I've never done a video on it.

    I was wondering if a wifi usb dongle can be converted to recieve radio signals is that possible it might only be able to recieve 2.4ghz

    • @SignalsEverywhere
      @SignalsEverywhere  3 года назад +1

      A few of a specific chipset have been modified to function as an SDR, only on 2.4ghz tho

  • @MartinHiggs84

    You could look at Raspberry Pi Zero 2W as low power option with USB SDR connected

    • @SignalsEverywhere
      @SignalsEverywhere  12 дней назад +1

      Absolutely and there's more softmodem's available today than when the tutorial was originally made.

      Yeah 😀 I'm beginning to get back into it again enjoy data modes

    Thanks for the video. SDR does not have any microphone capability. Does this method require an internal mic on the laptop? The SDR does not recieve the incoming signal in order for soundmodem to decode.

      You need to be running virtual audio cables there's a link in the description for the video that shows you how to set that up

    • @phurla1

      OK, got SM to decode, but only strong signals. Anyway to adjust sensetivity? Thanks, again.

      Under Device, had to adjust the RF level. Working fine now, thanks

    Hello! I have a problem with my RTL-SDR. I have a D-Original OUTBACK 1899 antenna. I have an RTL-SDR V3 bought on Wish. It is not original, it has 4 screws. I can't hear any APRS signal. (I live in Europe.) Also, I can't hear anything in the 2m and 70cm bands, except if the station is nearby. Why I can't hear anything?
    Thanks for advance!

    • @SignalsEverywhere
      @SignalsEverywhere  2 года назад +1

      If you bought the RTL on wish it's a cheap knock-off clone and may not work properly at all. If you want a v3 buy it from the rtl-sdr.com blog directly to ensure it's a legit model.
