- Click here to subscribe to the Catch Magazine RUclips Channel ►goo.gl/9Z5dTu - “Alpine Trout” goes out to all the OLD SCHOOL Catch Magazine supporters who have been with us since the very beginning. Thank you so much for your support with Catch Magazine and my RUclips Channel all these years! Those of you who remember Issue #6 of July 2009 will recall “Alpine Bass, ” which quickly became a favorite and has been viewed more than 1.7 million times on the Catch Magazine RUclips channel since 2009. Nine years later, and still with that phenomenal experience in our memories, Brian O’Keefe and I set out on another alpine fly fishing adventure. This time we were in search of early season trout. We fired up my old Honda Trail 110 and hit the hills for a wild adventure through mud, wind, rain and snow. Brian riding the motorbike and fly fishing from a float tube, and I on my camera and filming via aerial copter, we battled the elements once again….catching big rainbow trout in the high country. Out of all of the types of fly fishing there are in the world, this is my favorite. Being alone in a float tube on a high mountain lake , with just my thoughts , and being surrounded by amazing scenery, soothes my soul and recharges my mental battery. I long to return to the lakes of northern New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern Colorado, and will once winter relinquishes its icy grip. Amazing Video and thanks for your efforts.
what lakes in az?
If you ever get a chance to fish Lake Agnes in Northern Colorado I would HIGHLY recommend it!!
A man and his life!!!!! 👍👍👍👍
It's about you and nature, that's it!
Sweet. Moen always nails it. I get a lot of inspiration from his ways in my filming efforts. Beautiful scenery, beautiful fish and sweet little bike!
WOW... even without a voiceover and with great music and scenery, thanks to you Todd Moen for sharing it all the way to the Netherlands.
Ha ha... had a good laugh at the motorcycle scene with the float tube on back. Great shoot!
Brian O'Keefe is one lucky SOB. I hope i can meet him some day to hear some of his tales and tricks. If there's one person's life I'd like to live, it's his lol. Another gorgeous video, as always. Absolutely shows the beauty and magic of this sport.
This guy is my hero, riding that honda trail 110... what a rarity to see in such great shape. Usually just see the trail 90s out there. Great video.
Absolutely brilliant, loved the soundtrack and the fishing.
My first time watching one of your videos,...what a journey.. I loved it. And the fact you didn’t say anything was new and perfect for letting the setting speak for itself which is what I was after.
They sure were jumpers, big and strong. Gorgeous trout !!
Float tubing, just a great way to relax and enjoy fly fishing. This comment comes from an aging fly fisherman. Another terrific video, Todd.
Great video as always. The bike definitely adds to the adventure.
Great wheel stand exiting the shed!!
de nero on a float tube, slaying it. . cool film . luv it.
Love the reaction when the you almost lost the rod. Nice recovery!
MogoJack Haha, is that not unbelievable!? I still laugh hard each time I see that happen. Unreal. Thanks for the comment!
Todd's videos are beautifully done throwing bugs in a tube is definitely awesome nice work 👍👍🤜🤛

Loved this.. The filming is beautiful and tells a story in itself. Rich vibrant colors. Cheers
Fantastic video! one of my new favorites!

Loved the video it’s just like fishing in Northern Scotland for brown trout in the wilds and getting 3 seasons in one day brilliant and my kind of music ✊🎣 tight lines from us jocks over here ✊
Agreed from another jockland resident, although the Scottish version would have a Lau soundtrack. 🤘
wow! love the cicle boat! great video!!!! congrats from italy
Awesome fish and scenery. Rainbows big as steelheads....how can you beat that? The great camera work and editing helps the enjoyment.
Danny B. Thanks Danny. Glad you are enjoying these. TM
I use my Yamaha c3 to go fishing around W.N.C,Tuckessegee and Cherokee,Deep creek,.Awsome vid.
Fantastic fishing story, straight out of Earnest Hemingway's. Kudos to the filmmaker.
Very good performance; beautiful images full of adventure.
Bera35 Thanks very much!
Looks like a little bit of a remake? I know I've viewed nearly all Todd's videos, as well commented on them, and this one has been re-edited and published again. Griping, you ask?
Of course not. Simply "re-enjoying" it. And like last time, yeah, I wanna be there!!
Another beautiful film. They were definitely making you work for it though! Nice to see you revisit the Alpine series. I've watched most of your videos and love seeing the new angles of filming you bring to fishing. This summer I will be going on a 9000 mile fishing road trip targeting 30 species and documenting all of it. I would love a chance to talk with you about what makes a film work and hear any advice you have for me. As always, looking forward to the next film!
Jacob Jesionek Holy smokes Jacob! Sounds like an epic trip. Thanks for that note. Feel free to go to Catch Magazine www.catchmagazine.net and contact me there. Really appreciate the comments and hope your planning goes well. Sounds amazing.
It will be unlike anything I have done before! My previous longest road trip was last fall when I worked out in Yellowstone and drove from my home in Ohio. I have just sent an email to the info account thank you for taking the time to respond!
Great adventure. Do you plan your road trip internationally or only within North America ?
Brian the man!
Very nice view... very nice shoot... very good work.
Really like the music on Track #1
Great video! Float tube makes a great portable air bag if you dump the bike too!
I’m laughing hard at this one. Thanks for watching!!!
Super cool video !
Great drone footage.
Chad Utley Thanks Chad! It’s not easy in that weather that’s for sure. Appreciate the comment.
Great way to fish. But what do you do if you get a hook into that float and you out in the middle of a lake.
I didn't know Robert De Niro was into fly fishing.
No, but Brian is very much into it! ☺️
LOVE IT !! ... your vids are perfect ... I would not know how to make it better ... BIG SALUT from Europe / Austria !!
notpopebuthope heck yeah!!! Thanks so much for all the continued support. Love hearing from you. Have a great day man!!!!
WOW.
SMDH - What a lake. Just filled with submarines....
Looks a whole lot like the Antone.
Existe un calentador de manos para pescadores en zonas frías, lo fabrica Ronson, puede ser muy útil, dura 6 hs, con una carga.-
Do osprey frequent alpine lakes?
Very cool! Where's the alpine?
wow
Where is that lake? I won’t tell, honest 😎. Those are seriously big rainbows - you need to pack a bigger net!
Haha!! I agree Brian should have had a bigger net. Thanks for watching!
cheers Todd Tc Uk
Tony Carroll Hi Tony! Hope all is well buddy.
Hi, beautiful movie. Congratulations. What is or name for boat ??
makes me want to move to Montana...only thing that would have made this any more fun to watch is if a big ol grizzly had chased him up the road a bit on his way home..... oh and me be right behind him on my own little 100 cc yamaha and fishing equipment..... great....no an amazing video..... could watch it over and over.....
Please Father God Let there be fly fishing in your kingdom.
This is it
whats his set up and what line is that
What the heck ..... a turtle riding a minibike ~8^) Beautiful fish in a beautiful place ....... GPS coordinates please ...... ~8^)
Another awesome video with great music. What is the intro song?
Also, the song at 5:10? Man, you have such amazing catchy tunes. Some seem pretty obscure, and my Shazam app can't identify about 20% of them; how do you find these songs?
Do you know how many will be looking for a Honda 90 or 110! They just to took another $1000 price hike on any used ones out for sale!
Oh no, I saw the trailer almost a year ago and thought it was the feature film... I'm gonna put this one on hold for as long as I can stand not to watch it.
Somebody please get Brian a bigger net.
whats the name of the ending song?
How can I find the intro music?
はーい、ビックサンクス
I know it is meant to inspire but it actually is torment. But this summer is coming...... (tick tock tick tock)
Amazing, as always, Todd. Just out of curiosity, who is the gentleman on the orange moto that appears in so many of your videos?
Dave Ferreira Hi Dave,
Thanks for the support. Brian O’Keefe is the angler in many of my videos. We live close to each other, started Catch Magazine - an online fly fishing publication together in 2008. He’s a good dude and loves this kind of stuff...
It's Brian O'Keefe. Funnily enough, the first fly rod I ever bought came with a dvd featuring him as the teacher. It's the only reason I knew who he was before I saw Todd Moen's videos and I realized he's in probably the most videos of anyone. He's a well known fly fisherman.
Smashing that barb down is why you lost those fish ! NEVER smash your barb down !!!
god damn these are such good videos but please, please, leave the country emo at home
Great content extremely well shot and beautiful fish!! I gotta say though... that intro was pretty damn cringe with the awkward wheelie. Your guys content is always so good, but scenes like that in your intros and outros come across as way to forced and do not fit in with the rest of the videos content! I enjoyed watching the gent load up his bike, but then why make him try to pop a wheelie? Just a thought... like I said though, big fan of the rest of the content!
только не понятно -зачем , потратив время и средства , поймать рыбку....и отпустить...😘😴😕
shto bui verniutsya esho raz v bydyshoe vremya! 😄
dude, use some of this video money to buy a bigger net, at least! a frabill 13" net is like $25 for cryin' out loud!
