  • Today's video is going to show every single Dodge Challenger model 0-60 and ¼ mile times since the return of the 3rd-gen in 2008 (3.5L V6, 3.6L V6, 5.7L V8, 6.1L V8, 6.4L V8, and 6.2L Hellcat/Redeye/Demon engines) done slowest to quickest. I’ve obtained footage of each vehicle going 0-60, along with photos of the car, and some comparisons to other similar cars. I’ll also add the official stats from zeroto60times.com as well as the top speed for each without taking into account the governor which is electronically limited to match the tire capability the car came with.

    I really love the Challenger, it's a very iconic car. I hope, I can afford one someday. Currently I have a 2010 300 with 3.5 V6 and 5-speed Automatic. It's Not the fastest, but very comfortabel and reliable in the last years to me. Don't need that much of performance while daily driving.

      Do you need that performance in a daily no...do you want it hell yes! I'm right there with you truly hope to afford 11-14 challenger srt8 someday. I have to have the 6spd and in a perfect world it would be plum crazy as well. Worried they are going to climb faster now that the v8 challenger/charger are done. If anything we will get a crashed/clapped out one and go the crate engine route 💪

    Great video. I owned a 2016 Scat Pack 392 Shaker with a 6 speed manual. My best 0-60 was 4.2. I traded it in for a new in 2019 1320 Challenger. Also a 392 Hemi. My best 0-60 is a 3.6 and I routinely hit 3.8 without issue. The transbrake, Demon suspension and factory drag radials make it the 1320 the most consistant Challenger of them all. Plus they are very rare. If you can find one, buy it.

    • @LocalHauntsShow
      @LocalHauntsShow 5 месяцев назад

      @@Johnnyboybravo i feel it could serve well as a daily. You might consider getting a set of tires for daily use and switch back to the drag radials when you want to put it to work. The nexens wont last long under daily use. I got about 9k miles out of mine. I actually had to make the hard decision to trade my 1320 in about a month ago for a 2024 Ram Rebel. A truck just suited the current needs in my life right now more than a garage princess. I miss the 1320 but no regrets in getting the Rebel. I was overly obsessed with being paranoid that something would happen to the 1320. Like some idiot crashing into it or being stolen. I really took much care in protecting it from idiots. I feel a relief of that constant fear with the truck. I still take great care when i park it as far from door dings ect, but it wont kill me if some asshat causes damage to the truck. I knew the 1320 was special. I treated it as such. Hope that makes sense. I just dont trust people to care for my property as much as I do. Having the truck (which I love a lot) is less of a worry for me. Plus it is just more practical for my needs. If I could have both I would. But i would want a Demon for a daily either. For the same reasons.

    The only complaint I have is that the Challenger is like the only car besides the Supra that maintained its striking aesthetics. I think alot can beat challengers performance wise, but hard to beat them on the driveby. Theyre cheap on fitment but still manage to be great cruisers when the cloutchaser crowd isnt slamming into a lightpole trying to hang out the window to tell you their instagram. @MarspeedCars  8 месяцев назад

      I would agree with you. You don’t really get much on the Super Stock (other than Track mode, Demon traction control, +10 hp, 3.09 gears (you could also have these on the Redeye as an option), and the 18x11” wheels with drag radials (which won’t fit the Redeye unless you downsize the brakes). So not much difference, most of it is the wheel/tire setup in my opinion. I’m sure you could definitely feel a difference in the Demon but yeah hard to get your hands on one let alone for the crazy markups people want for either a 2018 or 2023!

      @@MarspeedCars My Redeye has
      Track mode and 3.09 gears. I just need a pair of drag radials wheel/tires set up for the rear. Because the Redeye already comes with small brakes on the rear and is as good as a Super Stock. The thing that I like about the Redeye vs Super Stock is that the Redeye is good for both Drag racing and Track racing due to Redeye having 6 piston brakes in the front and suspension being tune for track vs the Super Stock only good for Drag racing having front 4 piston brakes and suspension being tune for drag.

    The 5.7L TA's put out around 400 HP and the about 410 TQ. The 6.4L TA's have about 500 HP, and 510 TQ. The TA's are in a class by themselves, don't lump these models in with the slower 5.7's and 6.4's. This is due to actual functioning ram air and other little tweaks with the exhaust.

    • @MarspeedCars
      @MarspeedCars  8 месяцев назад +5

      I have to disagree. I actually had done research on this. Motor Trend reviewed a 2017 T/A 5.7L and still hit 0-60 in 5.0 seconds and 1/4 mile in 13.6 sec. The T/A only adds a Mopar cold air intake as far I can see, which might be 10 extra horsepower max (there’s also lots of debate just how much the intake adds especially a Mopar version). That could be good for 0.1 tenths of a second max theoretically, if not almost the same. Kind of like the entire 06-10 Charger generation. Daytonas and Road and Tracks came with a bigger airbox and “less restrictive exhaust”, and Dodge even claimed 350 hp instead of 340. Didn’t make a difference for performance and wasn’t a big improvement for anyone.

    the posted times for the 6.4L scat pack 8-speed Auto are pretty subjective. they can range quite a bit depending on where you live. in Las Vegas where the DA sucks, i get a 4.2sec 0-60 time with a Quarter Mile time of 12.53 @ 110. 60 foot time of 1.82 sec. That's pretty spot on to what you posted. The "Racer X" RUclips channel has a bone stock scat pack shaker narrow body (in Texas at that time) that ran a 11.524 sec Quarter Mile @ 117.56 mph. 60 foot time of 1.63 sec. A bit faster than your posted 1320 drag pack time. that is a full second in the quarter depending on how good the air is where you live.

    They have the 8 Speed Tuned so awesome in my 21 Touring, it definitely makes the car feel stronger than what its rated at. The Shifts are really quick and precise, never searching for gears. You get a nice clean kick from each shift too, and the power just feels endless with all them gears.

    Until the Demon, the Charger was always faster in this generation. More rear weight bias helped launch it better and better aerodynamics gave it a higher top speed. With the 2015 Hellcats, the Challenger topped out at 199 vs 204 for the narrow body Charger Hellcat

    This is all fine and dandy, but there’s not a single Challenger or Charger that’ll beat a Plaid Model S or Lucid Sapphire. Even a 6 passenger Model X Plaid will beat them all. Not even the Demon nor Hellcat. Even a lowly Model 3 Performance will beat almost all of them.

      Well the Demon ties it and Demon 170 beats it (on paper). I show the Model S Plaid in some charts in here. But those are the only ones, and I think it’s pretty impressive for Dodge to have that performance still with an ICE motor. Can’t deny that electric is faster

      @@MarspeedCarsthe 170 was on a prepped track on Ethanol. No way , no how is it doing that on the street. FWIW, Dragtimes and others have run 9.2xx on the street at 151 mph in a Model S Plaid . Street tires, no track prep. On the street.

      Boosted lucky definitely beat the Tesla plaid with a built cat so I have to disagree that they’re unbeatable

    Hilarious you put street condition numbers for the 2020 GT500. You do know it can do 3.3 to 60 and 10.6 at the 1320 but no you put up street condition numbers so it won’t hurt your mopar feeling.

      Not trying to prop Mopar up, it’s not a big deal to me to say they are faster or slower. For the comparison charts I’m doing control-f to find the same number through a big database. It may not be 100% accurate or track times etc. but I felt they were all close enough
