- Wild Eagle was the first B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) wing coaster to open in the United States in 2012 and was voted as the best new ride of that year. @@haydenwallace8626For me at least, I couldn’t even feel the loops on wild eagle. The drop off is the worst part of the entire ride. Now for Tennessee tornado, you can feel the loops only a little bit, but it’s rlly not that bad. It kinda just depends on how big loops are on the roller coasters. I’ve only been to dollywood, so I don’t know how other roller coasters would be at other locations.
I rode this one 3 times when I was at a band trip, it was slightly raining and it felt great to feel the cool wind and light droplets against my face. I love this coaster so much.
My cousins whom are 11 rode it 6 times

Ok for those who are scared about this one, the ride is very smooth and the harness is very secure. There is a large drop, but it's nothing compared to lightning rod. Overall, it's a really great coaster.

Smoothest rollercoaster i've ever been on. I went about a year or so ago and i've never been on a roller coaster that didn't jerk you around in the seat and wasn't bumpy at all. It was literally like you weren't attached to the track.

Tip: don’t go on this ride when it’s raining. I learned the hard way by feeling the pain of what seemed like a million bb bullets hitting my face at once

Went on this like 5 times when I went to Dollywood for a school field trip. It's very smooth, and VERY awesome. I loved it, and I always will love it. My favorite ride at Dollywood, besides the Mystery Mine.

From what I’ve heard, this ride dosent make people lose part of their souls, it adds to them. My principal’s wife had jaw surgery a while back and this is the only roller coaster she can ride at Dollywood

Evan Houston honestly, the thunderhead isn’t that bad. It’s the roughest coaster I’ve been on, but it’s really fun. I meant, that’s coming from a 10 year old, It’s probably rough for older folks

@@kelssbageli went yesterday and i went on wild eagle but lightning rod was closed for most of the day, and when it wasn’t closed it had a fucking 2 hour wait. i didn’t have to wait for wild eagle tho bc it was like an hour long wait, but as soon as i got in line for it it closed for maintenance and i happened to be right next to it when it reopened so i only had like a 10 minute wait

To anyone who’s scared to go on, this was my third upside down coaster and you don’t even notice when it happens. My brother has been riding thrill coasters for a decade and said it was the smoothest one he’s ever been on, and I can vouch for that

My wife and I rode it for the first time. I’ve ridden many steel track coasters and have never been on one this smooth. I think it is my favorite coaster of all I have ridden. My wife agrees.
When i went on this for the first time i was scared and excited. Like when i was climbing up that first big hill i was contemplating all my life choices and came to the realization that i can't get off this ride and that imma have to feel my belly drop for 3 seconds!!! Omg it's amazing.

This is such a tame ride for how fun it is. Definitely a good starter ride!
I want this made into a VR. Now let me just add I went to Dollywood and I’m terrified of going upside down and big drops when talking about rollercoasters.
Now saying that I went on it with my dad and I close my eyes during the ‘first’ loop. I opened my eyes thinking it was safe enough to open them… boy was I wrong I opened them at a wrong time during a corkscrew loop and I screamed from somewhere inside my body that I never screamed from.
Sure I may have had a smidge bit of a panic attack but I lived and the coaster was smooth.
With this information you should know that with this terrifying experience it’s one of my favorite rollercoasters, I road it only once and I want you to face your fears like it did and trust me you’ll be so proud of yourself.

Great Vid! I've been looking for a Wild Eagle vid with all the foliage in full bloom.
I went to Dollywood with some friends over the summer, and while we were standing in line for this ride, the guy running the controls was cracking jokes. When the car in front of us loaded, he told everyone else still in line to stand back from the gates. Then he said "These gates are made from a very special kind of wood. Do you know what kind? DOLLY-wood." 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I couldn't stop laughing, and my friends were all looking at me like I was crazy.
I loved this ride I was so scared when I went on it in real life but it was fun I love Dollywood!
I was sooo scared to ride this the first time! Right as I was telling my brother I wasn't sure I wanted to do it the thing was coming back and some guy was shouting "Woohoo, that was awesome!!" and I knew I had to ride it! We came back later that day after it had gotten dark and ended up ridding it several more times under a full moon, it was awesome!!

Behind the hill you can't tell how big the drop is until your finally at the top before you drop! It's so fun!!!

1:21 if you look at the left side in the trees you can see the path to a now-closed ride "Mountain Slide Winder" 1:28 if you look very close on the right side you can see the actual slides. i don't know if they are going to let it sit or if they are going to take it down but I'm a big fan of the abandoned/forgotten attractions and its like a hidden easter egg. the entrance used to be beside barn stormer, so that tells ya how much of a hike it was to ride it. it really was a hidden gem!

I just rode it today, I rode every ride except wild eagle, I was scared and was having an anxiety attack but just ran for the front seat, rode it in the front with my 81 year old grandma and my brother and mom behind me in row 2, the drop wasn’t bad at all and the inversions where fun! It’s the smoothest coaster I’ve been on by far, it’s really like you’re soaring in the sky.

***** I was there too, I go about every weekend. The official opening day is March 19th. A large portion of that section is closed for electric work I'm guessing. They're also building a new building by Red's.
***** I know a few who work there. A few have told me they aren't told anything about it. I don't think it's true they're lacking construction workers every week I go I take pictures and look at the progress they've made. I think they're well on schedule. If it weren't to open March 19th, they'd stop advertising it. They've spent over two years designing and planning it out I'm sure everything is ok.
***** Was there earlier. Talked to three employees in and out of Jukebox Junction and they said they're told just as much as the public is. This is also what many employees I've talked to in the past said. We'll see for a fact if it opens March 19th or later when that time rolls around. So excited for Lightning Rod! :)
I am writing this around a month after riding this coaster. Before this, i never rode a coaster. I was probably in your position a bit before that, I was scrolling on youtube watching videos of dollywood since i was going to go there and wanted to see if it was too scary. I decided it was scary and moved on.
When i got to dollywood, I went on the thunderhead first, which was the most fun thing ive ever done in my life. After a long night of stalling, about 20 minutes before dollywood was closing the wild eagle had a 0 minute long wait time, I decided to go on it, and i dont regret it.
First of all, Its not scary at all. Its fun, Thrilling, and seems much scarier than it actually is. This thing is like butter. it was so smooth that i kept my eyes open the whole time and i went on it 4 times. The first time was definently a little scary, but the drop is so fun and the rest of the ride is fun. Its smooth to the point you dont know whats happening since it doesnt even feel like you are going on loops. If i ever go to dollywood again, Im going on this all day.
if you are worried to go on this, Go for it. Trust me, Let me know how it goes.

I rode Tennessee Tornado as my second looping coaster ever three months ago and loved it. Which one is worse this or the Tornado? I have a fear of heights so thats what makes me nervous to ride this.

i rode this 5 times in a row yesterday! its a lot faster than the video makes it look! this is the ride where i conquered my fear of loops. willingly, i may add (my mom tricked me into going on the tn tornado and i wasnt aware of the loops..). REALLY smooth and isnt that scary after the first time around, just fun. seats are super snug and secure and no body parts get whipped around at all, so if ur worried about that, your head is safe lol (legs dangle tho). felt really safe on it. i would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to break their fear of loops. its a must ride at dollywood!

Best part, hardly any wait time when I was riding it and being able to choose the front every time.
Tornado on the other hand was a little rough but VERY fun. Had a grey out on the third inversion on my second run.

lmao I love dollywood every summer we go to TN for a week and 2 days out of the week we stay here. The tornado was my first rollercoaster, and I passed out. The next day we rode this and I passed out the whole ride but it was fun 😂😂 I did it again (without knocking out) and this is absolutely my favorite rollercoaster! and it's not even that bad the seatbelt vests are so tight it's the safest one I've ever rode.

I rode this coaster on Wednesday last week and I passed out 😂 but after I rode it a few times it was great the line was so short you could ride it back to back with no wait and this is my fav ride in dollywood although the lighting rod was amazing it was a little rough since it’s a wooden coaster 😂
