Original Xbox Prototype/Beta Dashboard with Sound

So I found a render of a prototype/beta Original Xbox dashboard on RUclips, but it was completely silent - so I only thought it was right to open Ableton and add the sound to it.
Using the original dashboard audio extracted from a retail modded Original Xbox, this is what the prototype dashboard could have sounded like.
Ngl but 2000s dashboards looked and felt cool than the simple and generic dashboards we have now.
I couldn't have said that any better. Although the PS2 is my favourite 6th gen console, mainly for the library and childhood memories, the Xbox remains the coolest.
today is more about generic looking boring "simple" things.Its actually one of the reasons I love my ps5 so much. It really feels like a sequel to ps3 for some reason
@@sabianmateinnit ps2 was the main console, xbox was the rich yuppy fuckers console and was ways much cooler. Ps2 to Xbox 360 tho was where it was at

@@sabianmateinnit There is certainly one thing the XBox was well ahead of it's time on.
Video output and support is handled by the console itself instead of being left at the discretion of the developers.
Id est, the XBox is capable of 1080i/1080p video by itself.
The PS2 could push some crisp video with the right component cable and provided the game supports Progressive Scan.
The sounds in the background at 0:36 actually play on the original Xbox whenever you don’t touch the controller for a while
This happen when I'm staying too long on my clock I got freaked out and my heart beat attacked.

Even Xbox 360's final dashboard looks cooler than Xbox one/Series's.

What’s crazy is how clean this looks, you look at the menu screen for a regular OG Xbox and it’s not as crisp.

@@robosexxxual I'm fairly certain it's a prototype fmv made to show what a dashboard could look like. You're right, it's way too fluid to be running on actual 2000s hardware.
It'd be dope if Microsoft brought this to the Series X/S even though I know they won't.
Man, the original Xbox's dashboard really was otherworldly.
This dashboard looks like a sequence in a movie or a demonstration/tutorial video from how strangely smooth the animations are.

Indeed, The Prototype XBOX dashboard looks like a DVD Menu from the 2002 movie Frozen.

It's transmission audio from one of the Apollo missions if I recall properly, it was added for an alien tech effect.

The funny thing is the transition sounds from one menu screen to the other ARE IN MORE SYNC vs the final release. Was this an official beta or did you make it? I absolutely LOVE it
The menu is apparently official, but the uploader said that they added the sounds themselves as the original version was completely silent.
The video itself has been roaming around the internet for years now, albeit silent. It was made in 2000. All I did was take the sounds from a retail Xbox and map them to the events that happen in this video, so the reason why the sounds fit so well is more than likely because they made the sounds around the same time they did this prototype dashboard. They just never needed to make new ones when the dashboard was redesigned.

I think they probably got rid of the ability to download movies to the Hard-Drive because it would take up way too much space. I mean, the average DVD is 3.5 GB, and the XBOX's hard-disk is only, get this, 10 GB! 2 of which are taken up by the dashboard anyway!

I find it strange that Xbox's movie downloads were scrapped until the Xbox 360.
When you consider the OG Xbox only had an 8 GB hard drive (10 in later models), it makes a little more sense. Would have been cool though

When was this beta build of Xbox compiled? November/December 2000?
I have no idea. Chances are, it could be a pre-render / CGI mockup. I've looked around the 'net and have found no info about this footage except the fact that it is from 2000.
@@sabianmateinnit I just found out from the original video that had no sound, the beta build was apparently compiled in March 2001, a month before the dashboard became finalized.
This dashboard is similar to that UIX dashboard or the development system's released in 2000 2001 impressive how they mean to play starcraft and age of empires in the OG xbox

@@LilUltraKataru UIX has a feature that looks like this dash, but the footage here isn't UIX. UIX doesn't have a leaderboards or movies section as shown in the footage.
