BizarreBub but in halo 3 in forge I would put down the enemy jammer and i would get scared of the mini map cuz it showed enemies and I was bad at halo then
Those still give me chills. Maybe it’s childhood trauma. Maybe it’s knowing what it’s like to be alone in the house, seeing a tornado warning at nearly midnight, and listening to the wind whipping outside.
Madicat Yea, especially when you don’t live in tornado alley and you’re not used to it. I’ve only seen 3 in my life, but that one was particularly chilling. I could see it touch down, but it never came close.

The SEGA CD’s warning track doesn’t actually damage audio systems. The guitar riffs in the background were meant to catch your attention so you can eject the disk. Because if the audio player progresses to the next track on the disk, which is where all the game data is, the screeching/corrupted sounds _will_ be deafening and will blow out your speakers.

Every so often, I revisit this video. I don’t know what it is about this, maybe because I watched it when I was younger, but there’s something so captivating about this compilation.
Error messages always scared the shit outta me when I was little. I remember the Tony Hawk Underground games would instantly take you to a completely silent red screen with small white text in the center, telling you the game disc was broken. What was creepy was that most of the time, the game could last a little while before doing this, so all you could do was fearfully anticipate when your speakers would just go silent and the screen went blank red. While as an adult, it isn't very scary now, but as a little kid and staying up late, this shit creeped me out.
I think that these guys thought that scaring kids to hell would teach them to not ever do that stuff again, like a "That'll teach you!" moment. We need this again. sorry to be that guy but thanks for the likes
What's even creepier is how desperate the first woman gets. This is not for console Please remove the disc This may damage your console Please remove the disc IMMEDIATELY it's quite frightening
The PS2 red screen of death was more calming and made me fall asleep instead of being creepy. I got it once when tryna put Minecraft 360 edition into the PS2 as an "experiment." While I was watching this just now, when fearful harmony played, a fly landed on me and I murdered it so shook up I think the other flies probably felt it.
That shouldn’t actually be the case funnily enough. Xbox and Xbox 360 games had a small DVD file stored on them that would play when inserted into a dvd error, telling the user that they needed to insert it into an Xbox console. Since the PS2 has a built in DVD player, it automatically plays these. These little Xbox videos are up on RUclips if you’re curious.
Definitely. At the time I was into space and rocket ships, so when it appeared, it honestly felt like watching a galaxy in one of those cosmos documentaries. It’s serene and calm, as if to show the beauty of space.
I tried to get it by putting my Kirby's Epic Yarn disk in my PlayStation 2, but I guess it will only do this with Xbox and PC disks because my PlayStation 2 just said the disk couldn't be read, no red in sight
The Sega narrator lady is like: "Stop playing this disk immediately". "Right. fucking stop.". "I'll fucking snap you if you don't stop". "Mate, I'm coming to your house, *proceeds to read out disk owners address*"
The fact that it says “Take the cd out of the system immediately” sounds like we did something wrong, and that if we didn’t fix it, something horrible would have happened.
As a kid, I can confirm that I feel uneasy whenever a glitch happens. For example, clipping out of the map and into the black void below. Just thinking about it gives me shivers. Another thing that creeps me out is when the ground doesn't render but you can still stand on it. You can see the black void and the skybox ending abruptly. Gives me anxiety.
Also missing textures. They give me the chills. It's creepy to load into a normal game and then the ground having a black and purple checkerboard everywhere.

Xavi 1809 I know that the PS4 was 7 years old in 2007 but I had it up to 2014. Then traded it for my cousins PS3 in 2015. I had that until 2018 and currently own a PS4 Slim which I absolutely love
I recently found out that song that plays during the Disney on blueray ad is the main theme from an old Disney deeptrack movie called Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
This is why I stick to Xbox. You get nightmares from every single PS console. Personified Fear up to creepy/terrifying dashboards on PS4... NOPE! *slams door*
First time i heard it i was only 4 or 5,i was alone in the living room and i thought someone was in there so i ran to my moms room and it freaked me out
When i was a kid, i've got red screen of death on ps2 i was scared and tell to my dad to make something.. Now i'm not scared at all but i had a dream while i was a little kid when red screen of death appeard i fucking got so scared and woke up..
Honestly the PS2 wasn't scary, it pissed me off mostly because back then, the games used to come in Blue or Silver. The fucking blue CDs sucked. Tekken Tag tournament was my favorite game but was a pain in the ass because it wouldn't read sometimes because of it's blue side
2:02 For those wondering, this warning was actually the second track on the disc, as the others were the game data, and playing the game data as a audio file resulted in the digital version of dragging your nails on a blackboard. As such, the pitch that these sounds were at could cause damage to speaker systems at the time, and as such, a warning was included to prevent this.
“Eleven don’t be stupid! We have the PS2!” *Red screen of death plays* “Um venom, we need the XBOX!” *”chi yi ttu chi yi po yi 7”* “Nope!” *patrick smashes XBOX*
The Wii “disc could not be read” was spooky. I remember casually playing animal crossing, talking to the animals, and a text wouldn’t come up. All of the sudden, boom, black screen, no happy animal crossing music, white text. Had me running out of the house as a kid.
I remember my brother would fall asleep with his xbox on and eventually the creepy noises would start up on the menu. I'd have to turn it off then try to go to sleep smh
Sony's Five Commandments 1) Thou shalt not insert a disk forged by sinners. 2) Thou shalt not insert a disk which is physically impure. 3) Thou shalt not insert a disk which is foreign. 4) Thou shalt not damage thy console's BIOS. 5) He who disrespects these commandments shall be traumatized.
What makes the first one really creepy is the lingering juxtaposition between the calm female voice and the harsh, static guitar. We are naturally programmed to be scared at things that are obscure, and that certainly falls under said category.
It makes you feel like if you don't immediately do what the lady says, something awful will happen. Well, something much worse than your speakers getting ruined.
Old comment but this is referred to in professional settings (so like making horror audio, music, games and whatnot) as "Cognitive Dissonance", when you have two extremes of the spectrum it makes your brain try to fill in the blanks, and then subconsciously panics when it can't. A high audio mixed with a low audio with no in-between creates the instinctual confusion of "Is this a harmless kitten... or a lion wanting to eat me?" Because predatory species (lions, bears, etc.) tend to make deep, bellowing noises, and thus we're instinctually wired to be wary of such sounds in certain circumstances.
"This disc contains CD-ROM data that may damage your audio system." *Screams from the very depths of hell* Me: "Well whaddya think you're doing right now?"
7:50 detector de radiação na minha mochila 8:00 remake do som de abertura do ps1 8:13 som esquecido de caverna do minecraft 8:23 jato passando na velocidae do som 8:34 relatos de um cara laggando na aula online
Here is the reason why Fearful Harmony is not a sound, but rather a glitch. When inserting a pirated disc/disc that isnt for ps1, The core processor for the PS1 dies and the PS1 core that holds the visuals get broken, so it starts spewing out garbage such as corrupted images and thats the reason why *SCEE* is here. Your PS1 suffers from the damage it receives. *NEVER* *PUT* *A* *PIRATED* *DISC* *INTO* *YOUR* *PS1* or else.... well, see for yourself.
This is a bit false. If the core processor were to actually die, the whole unit would die with it. SCEE is completely normal on PAL region consoles; it stands for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. The console never dies, it just lags horribly as it attempts to load unreadable data and ultimately fails.
I won't lie, the xbox sound from NASA terrified me as a kid. First time i heard it, I left the console on for a while, while I was playing with my cousin. Suddenly the creepy noises started playing and i had no idea what it was coming from, me and my cousin thought there was a ghost in the house, we eventually figured out it was from the xbox, of which we nodded our heads in agreement that it was possessed and we needed a Exorcist.
Fuck I had no idea the PS1 crashed when booting a burnt disc. That definitely would've given me nightmares as a kid, like wow what an absolute trainwreck of a crash. Obviously, it's not programmed to function like that, because I'm certain half of that is debug junk left over from development, & the audio is the startup tune but now increasingly louder & skipping, but the crash is so conveniently creepy it'd guaranteed keep you from trying to pirate games again.
One time I was staying at my grandmas house. Her phone kept ringing and the ringtone absolutely frightened me. One night it went off and my grandma came into my room. As I was crying she was trying to help by asking which ringtone did I want her to use so this wouldn’t happen again. All of them were scary to me. My grandma ended up sleeping with me so I could feel safe. Wasn’t the greatest moment of my life. Just feels great I wasn’t alone being scared of ringtones and such.
These sounds are like the kind of pieces of music in horror movies which would never be used, but would be genuinely disturbing and would definitely be great for the spooks.
Fun fact: apparently a handful of sega CD games actually had special variations of the warning message read out by the characters of the game you put in. they all said basically the same thing, but it was a charming little addition nonetheless.

it would be cool if you could put in an og xbox skin (either officially or mod) that retains all functionality but makes everything look and feel like og xbox (including the alien abduction if you wait)

No error messages on THIS CONSOL
2:02 For those wondering, this warning was actually the second track on the disc, as the others were the game data, and playing the game data as a audio file resulted in the digital version of dragging your nails on a blackboard. As such, the pitch that these sounds were at could cause damage to speaker systems at the time, and as such, a warning was included to prevent this.
So games in audio form sound like unspoken horrors, noted
It would eventually switch on to track one which had game data and could include a mixture of beeps statics and crunching sounds

What makes the first one really creepy is the lingering juxtaposition between the calm female voice and the harsh, static guitar. We are naturally programmed to be scared at things that are obscure, and that certainly falls under said category.

Uncanny Valley

Here is the reason why Fearful Harmony is not a sound, but rather a glitch.
When inserting a pirated disc/disc that isnt for ps1,
The core processor for the PS1 dies and the PS1 core that holds the visuals get broken, so it starts spewing out garbage such as corrupted images and thats the reason why *SCEE* is here.
Your PS1 suffers from the damage it receives.

pxtchybee song computer entertainment europe is what is it mewns
This is a bit false. If the core processor were to actually die, the whole unit would die with it. SCEE is completely normal on PAL region consoles; it stands for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. The console never dies, it just lags horribly as it attempts to load unreadable data and ultimately fails.
I won't lie, the xbox sound from NASA terrified me as a kid.
First time i heard it,
I left the console on for a while, while I was playing with my cousin. Suddenly the creepy noises started playing and i had no idea what it was coming from, me and my cousin thought there was a ghost in the house, we eventually figured out it was from the xbox, of which we nodded our heads in agreement that it was possessed and we needed a Exorcist.

"This disc is not for audio use"
Oh i see why
@Levi stad I mean the voice is equally as creepy as the background audio.
The fact that the red screen can sometimes pop up when your screen is dark after the PS2 blue startup makes it even scarier
Nahh not really, I really wasnt bothered by it that much.
