You can still pin games in the x for details section and they show up in 'my pins' on the home. that worked for me. Sometimes it takes a minute to add the pin.
That what I did on my 360 slim I pinned everything or as much as I could before the shut down cause whenever I try to go to my download history it disconnect me from xbox live and it won't let me sign back in
Honestly, I’d rather this minimalist interface than the giant ads that were on it before. This is better than throwing a bunch of errors or giant blank panels. Letting you pick the dashboard is my top choice but that was never gonna happen.
The dashboard isn't even bad. People just want to complain that Microsoft isn't putting effort into a 20 year old console. It's ridiculous to think that they would
i didnt even know it changed from the classic dashboard that had all the tiles arranged in a row with your character and the green was lighter with a gradient, and the green was pouring into the xbox logo when it turned on. mainly because i only ever used the xbox 360 to play minecraft and minecraft story mode
Man if this is how digital downloads are like this with the Xbox 360 now, I hope we don't see this happening again with other consoles in the future. :(
My theory is that essentially the Xbox Marketplace and the Xbox Store are the same thing and what Microsoft did was push a server side update to remove the marketplace from the dashboard and block all 360s from being able to make new purchases. It’s a lazy way to do it but why put more resources into a 2 generation old console anyways?
Let’s be honest everyone knew this was coming. The 360 is old. Games haven’t been developed for it in a very long time and there’s no real reason for them to keep the store open. What’s important is you still have access to your digital content. You just can’t buy any new content.
I mean there were still titles being published to 360 until 2019. It hasn't been dead in the water as long as you'd think. 2019 was the last year Microsoft allowed game publications to 360. It's only been 5 years since then.
No we didn’t the most recent version of the 360 was released only about a decade ago. And this decision pisses me off because now, 2 WEEKS AFTER IT SHUT DOWN, I GET A XBOX 360. Xbox please bring it all back 😭
Just a heads up @Jacob I seen in your past few videos that you have been dealing with when browsing on the 360. I just wanted to mention the workaround to when browsing the store or games and it starts to infinitely load, just back out with B button then retry until it loads seconds later. Its an annoying process but it fixes it rather than wait for minutes!
There’s a way to get more gamer pics without the store on unmodded console. I lost everything on my Xbox 360 and I was able to retrieve gamer pics without redownloading. Rock Band 2, LEGO Rock Band, and Rock Band 3 (EA disc only) I know so far you can inject DLCs, Exports, RBNs, and etc on unmodded Xbox 360. There can be games (not all the games) read DLC CON file.
Well, there is one way to still buy digital xbox 360 games that i know of. The youtuber Laserfights purchased a digital xbox 360 game that had the little ribbon/title on the cover (signaling that it's for xbox 360) on PC while on microsoft's website. After he purchased it, he went on the xbox 360 download history and there it was. Pretty neat. Anyway, the game he bought was dead rising 2: case west.
If it a backward compatible game your still able to buy it... and it gonna show on the 360 download history cause it a 360 game it just happen to be a backward compatible one
Isn't the download purchase menu the same as the PS3? I remember when I got my replacement few months ago and had to download everything I've previously bought and the list was also unsorted.
It might be, I'm not sure I've ever tried to re-download things on the ps3. I've played ps3 plenty, but never really personally used it for gaming back in the day because I had a 360. So I have very few ps3 digital purchases
It is the same mess for PS3 and PS Vita you have to scroll through your purchased downloads to find your games the exact same way. And it is even worse because PS3 and PS Vita share the same download list so you see games from both consoles on the same list .
@@lharwest1571 It's PS3, PS Vita AND PSP content all on the same download list. Cross-buy, which is really nice if you own all these Sony systems, made the list really bloated if you have no intention of owning one or both of the other systems.
@@Tempora158 That might be true about Cross-Play stuff, but they should have added at least a filter for which console you want to search for.. For example When they shut down Last of Us Servers on PS3 they gave all DLC's for free which is more than a 100 and now on my PS Vita I have to scroll through all of those to get to my earlier purchases and you can't just scroll.. You have to scroll and wait for it to load then scroll again and then wait for it to load again..
The old xbox store was rotting anyways. Every day more and more games would be delisted for licensing reasons, and it hardly had any worthwhile content that isnt already available on the new store. I think they were justified here.
They've done exactly what they said they'd do. You'd have called it broken if you COULD find an exploit and still buy games, and you're calling it broken because you CAN'T - make your mind up. Microsoft could have made everything neater and tidier with a proper dashboard update, so that you get a friendly message about the store closing rather than error codes. But you'd have complained about that and told everyone: "Stay offline! Don't download the new update! It takes away the store!" So I don't know how else they could have done it.
I don't think the stretched out image is that bad tho. :D Ofcourse everything is still there. The server with the content on is just turned off. You can try an ethernet cable instead of wifi if you want the loading screens to go faster. Also, scroll through your purchases with RT, not with the joystick. Gets you to the bottom in a couple seconds.
Any game that is backwards compatible on the newer console you can buy on web or newer consoles and then download the game on the 360, I tested that today. Also any free DLC that is backwards compatible can be claimed on 360 or newer consoles.
In some ways it reminds me of when PS Home was removed; for a while it was possible to access items you'd purchased (for your Avatar) but you couldn't actually access Home. It was then no longer accessible at all afterwards; as the option had been removed entirely. (Back to the 360, what happens with a complete factory reset? Do you get the option to get Avatar items? Does the dashboard/menu system work faster *then*? What happens with a brand new account?).
At least they still have the information for games available to see, instead of literally deleting everything, which would be even worse. We get to see the game information, I thought maybe we wouldn’t be able to at all
I’m not worried about the store being gone. What honestly bothers me is with all the content Iv bought over the years, just unplug your internet and see how many things you can run. Absolutely nothing.... unless you own it on disc. Thousands of dollars spent over the years and if your system is offline then all the store bought digital content is useless. Xbox isn’t dead till they cut the internet on it or the servers go down that the 360 runs off of.
What in the world are you talking about? You can play digital 360 games just fine, even in offline mode. Just the same as you can play any Wii, 3DS, or WiiU digital game, even if the servers have shut down for them. Digital license is stored on the console itself. And as long as those install servers are up, you can even redownload those purchases from a new console, and then play them offline there. If the install servers ever DO go down, AND your console breaks, THEN... well, if a person hasn't gotten their money's worth out of their digital library before then, that's really on the player. It's not a waste if you played the games you bought.. ever
@@kryzethx not sure what you are talking about friend. I restored my licenses and disconnect from the internet and none of my games are accessible that Iv purchased digitally over the years.

Man, you people just find things to complain about. Yes the store is down and other things are still functional, which is exactly what the Microsoft announcement told you. I know grand conspiracy here. And getting your downloads re-downloaded from your download. History is the way it’s worked for years so apparently you haven’t been using your 360 that much or you would’ve already known that.
Glad they didn’t remove the ability to download the backwards compatibility content. I would download your download history fast, probably only a year before they remove the old data on the servers all together.
Sometimes apps don't work on consoles because of faulty HDD's(hard drives). It happens to me too with RUclips. A good new hard drive reformatting can sometimes solve it. At worst a new hard drive is best. Also reformatting will erase your saved data or information on the hard drive hardware only.
At least the minimal dash is only when you are connected. But I’m not gonna update when they send out another update for the console and make it permanent

I hope they include back the xbox 360 Minecraft later on, so we can download that from the xbox store as well. Since it was another nostalgic game. Even including the xbox 360 demos. 😢
Even if I wasn’t a Xbox 360 player, I watched videos on people playing the 360, and I was really happy, especially people playing Minecraft on the 360, and I can confirm. The home screen was a lot more better than this junk.
@Tempora158 yes and I've purchased it. If you've got it downloaded on a 360 never delete it. I've also got modern warfare 4 original and MW2 and they download perfectly fine

Bought it on xbox pc, then it shows up un download history, or you can download it from the "more options" menu accessable by pressing X instead of A when you are at your game menu
im ngl man, half of these things you're complaining about have been the same for nearly 7 years. if you truly cared about any of the stuff you're talking about and it wasn't just a means to milk the xbox's marketplace ending you would've complained about it when microsoft would've felt inclined to actually fix it. it's like pointing at a dead horse. they do not care anymore. it feels like you're overhating over something that doesn't even matter anymore.
Everyone call Microsoft support and complain about the store shutdown. If enough people call we can get it turned back on atleast till the end of the year.
I wonder if we ban together some how and complain to Microsoft, that they may bring it back for at least another year. It worked with PlayStation and they brought it back..... 🤔
It worked with playstation... and then we saw why playstation wanted to jump the gun. The last few years have been met with so many game delistings on the ps3 store for licensing reasons. Granted, Sony cant get away with it as much as microsoft can, because Sony still refuses to think of the words "backwards compatibility"
for playstation it was justified as it was earlier and even very big games like mw2 or bo1 would get their additional content unavailable to obtain in the playstation ecosystem, meanwhile on xbox most of the best sellers and their dlc's have been made available on the current store, while most 360 only content left was cross gen titles and arcade games

@@jspantonio8807wait really? Can you still buy stuff from the avatar marketplace?
It would have been nice if they allowed you to pin individual games to the main page so that you don't always have to search for the game you want to play in the games menu.
That download history has been like that since day one
Man if this is how digital downloads are like this with the Xbox 360 now, I hope we don't see this happening again with other consoles in the future. :(
My theory is that essentially the Xbox Marketplace and the Xbox Store are the same thing and what Microsoft did was push a server side update to remove the marketplace from the dashboard and block all 360s from being able to make new purchases. It’s a lazy way to do it but why put more resources into a 2 generation old console anyways?
I'm surprised they kept the store for so long I never actually used the store when it was open
Dude I'm ngl I liked the ads on the console dashboard it looked cool.
Let’s be honest everyone knew this was coming. The 360 is old. Games haven’t been developed for it in a very long time and there’s no real reason for them to keep the store open. What’s important is you still have access to your digital content. You just can’t buy any new content.
I want to get gears of wars also trying to find a way to play mk9
There's gamepass & discs,genius.
This year was the release of a gamboy advance game sooooo whats old for you 😂😂😂😂?
I mean there were still titles being published to 360 until 2019. It hasn't been dead in the water as long as you'd think. 2019 was the last year Microsoft allowed game publications to 360. It's only been 5 years since then.
No we didn’t the most recent version of the 360 was released only about a decade ago. And this decision pisses me off because now, 2 WEEKS AFTER IT SHUT DOWN, I GET A XBOX 360. Xbox please bring it all back 😭
hey jacob, I looked on IGN and they say microsoft doesn’t have plans to let you choose your own dashboard, but if they did then it would be epic.
Sucks the store is gone but im glad I still have all my old 360 games on disc 👍
"you might be able to find a physical copy"
It would have been great if they'd kept a website running where we could buy 360 games
They shouldv'e brought back the blades dashboard since that one didn't rely on ads and the marketplace to look good
“No Nostalgia for you!!! Mwahahaha!!” -Microsoft
@@dustinechoes122yes
Shutting down the store was a MASSIVE fail on Microsofts part.
How?
The old xbox store was rotting anyways. Every day more and more games would be delisted for licensing reasons, and it hardly had any worthwhile content that isnt already available on the new store. I think they were justified here.
I mean, that's how purchase history works on every console.
7:42 -7:56, i was a big fun of yours before this video, now i am your greatest one.
360: I didn't hear no bell.
It’s a 20 year old system. You can download the things you bought. You were warned the store was closing a long time out.
This isn’t a bad thing.
Bro first 360s were Made in 2005 and newer versions even later
I think its his Old Xbox 360 Model.
My Model E can still buy, and download DLC for games, probably games too!
We get to see the game information, I thought maybe we wouldn’t be able to at all
Really? Aren't some of them delisted?
@@DeejTiuz i’m not sure about those ones, I think those might be unavailable
@@halami2149 rip
I found this on the first 2 minutes of the xbox 360 store being down
Dashboard is so ugly!!! Could’ve made the decision to bring back blades. Come on Microsoft!
For games like Halo 3 where they have a marketplace button to get dlcs you can get them like that but it's only the free ones.
it just makes no sense why microsoft did it, everything is still here but nah, they disabled payments for xbox 360 and made everything slow asf lmao
Only xboxone backwards compatible games work
Rest in peace Xbox 360😢
imagine if you wake one day and opend the xbox 360 and see it on the service and it will never shutting down and microsoft Added new games on it
Thank god bro read mine and others comments,
I thought he thought that he couldn’t even remotely being able to access the store
Jacob have you played the orange box before? It's a blast especially TF2
I moved on to PlayStation for a good reason. And it's that avatars will now be forgotten by new xbox players.
Couldn't beat avatars
@180ballybollock They were why the 360 got better sales than the xbox One. The Xbox one had more things wrong with it at the time.
Nope, because any normal person would go re download from the store. Seriously who on earth would scroll through their download history for that?? 😂 🤡
Glad they didn’t remove the ability to download the backwards compatibility content. I would download your download history fast, probably only a year before they remove the old data on the servers all together.
They won't. It's literally part of their backwards compatible program on other systems. Do you even have an Xbox? Or did you come to complain?
Doritos Presents UNLOCK XBOX YOU DREAM IT, WE BUILD IT.
7:10 why does that fallout 3 have the date of 2023
because its more broken then a book in flames
@@Wii_Galaxy kinda sad tbh
This is why physical media needs to stay. Also I don't really mind the dashboard to me it's seems like it's a lot faster and less bloated.
So lame you can't buy games even, when the shop is up, more or less
Sometimes apps don't work on consoles because of faulty HDD's(hard drives). It happens to me too with RUclips. A good new hard drive reformatting can sometimes solve it. At worst a new hard drive is best. Also reformatting will erase your saved data or information on the hard drive hardware only.
At least the minimal dash is only when you are connected. But I’m not gonna update when they send out another update for the console and make it permanent
I still like the old one tho, even tho it has ads, the new one is piss in my opinion
it's so plain
@@jrob0021 yeah
There's a "secret" Bro clickbaiter me, don't make content if it's gonna be like this anymore.
even youtube on the ps3 still works and dosent crash
I don't know if its been mentioned but you can still buy backwards compatible games on xbox one and it shows up in 360 download history. At least it did when I tested it to buy elder scrolls oblivion and it let me download it on 360.
I hope they include back the xbox 360 Minecraft later on, so we can download that from the xbox store as well. Since it was another nostalgic game. Even including the xbox 360 demos. 😢
Stop complaining about the dashboard, it's not that bad, you don't know what you have until you lose it
This could have been bundled in your last video. You literally made an entire video talking about nothing but the same content as before.
Why did you stop putting out videos they were cool?
Jacob R make sure Microsoft doesn't find out this secret or we would be screwed.
Even if I wasn’t a Xbox 360 player, I watched videos on people playing the 360, and I was really happy, especially people playing Minecraft on the 360, and I can confirm. The home screen was a lot more better than this junk.
just hopped on my 360 and saw the HORRID dashboard 😂
Not me with a modded console that loads the NXE dashboard
Whats annoying me is Modern Warfare 3 you cannot download again even though youve purchased it
It fails to download from your Download History?
@Tempora158 yes and I've purchased it. If you've got it downloaded on a 360 never delete it. I've also got modern warfare 4 original and MW2 and they download perfectly fine
You'll have to buy backwards compatable games or dlc on pc or xbone, but it will still let you download it on 360 after you buy it. I tried it yesterday with some Oblivion DLC. Bought it on xbox pc, then it shows up un download history, or you can download it from the "more options" menu accessable by pressing X instead of A when you are at your game menu
im ngl man, half of these things you're complaining about have been the same for nearly 7 years. if you truly cared about any of the stuff you're talking about and it wasn't just a means to milk the xbox's marketplace ending you would've complained about it when microsoft would've felt inclined to actually fix it. it's like pointing at a dead horse. they do not care anymore. it feels like you're overhating over something that doesn't even matter anymore.
you can download free dlcs for free inside a game
Everyone call Microsoft support and complain about the store shutdown. If enough people call we can get it turned back on atleast till the end of the year.
this whole thing is why people went crazy at digital only and internet required, cos when support dies history dies too.
My house just burnt down and I lost almost all of my gaming collection. I did get one 360 out but could not find the power brick in time. Rip
@@xythrr
I know...., but something would be better than nothing and I say that cause I missed out on the last day to buy games cause I had to work. 😭
for playstation it was justified as it was earlier and even very big games like mw2 or bo1 would get their additional content unavailable to obtain in the playstation ecosystem, meanwhile on xbox most of the best sellers and their dlc's have been made available on the current store, while most 360 only content left was cross gen titles and arcade games
How ot looks offline, this is what I expected it to look like.. and not the new dash board
I feel like dlcs should still be able to be purchased, Microsoft hate money 🙄
