    We truly are in the golden age of acoustic guitar making. When an instrument that sounds this good is available (with a pickup) for $500, we just have to be grateful. The Eastman ACTG 2E is part of Eastman's AC series (all solid wood no frills instruments at a very affordable price point).
    The ACTG2E is a travel guitar, much like the Taylor GS Mini, or Martin Dreadnaught junior etc, but in Lucas's opinion it smokes the other offerings, and at a slightly better price point as well.
    The guitar features Sapele top back and sides bound in tortoise style binding, a simple ring rosette, pearl dot fretboard markers, a Sapele neck with ebony fretboard, jescar fretwire, a bone nut, 23.5 inch scale length, 1 11/16 string spacing at the nut, an east Indian Rosewood headstalk over-lay with maple Eastman logo, ping 3 per side tuning machines, and a simple Fishman Sonitone pickup with controls inside the sound hole for volume and tone.
    Eastman guitars are made by hand in Beijing, China, and they represent extreme value for money in the guitar, mandolin, woodwind, brass and stringed instrument worlds.

    Thank you Lucas. Wish I could play like you! One day maybe. I was thinking about getting a Taylor G S mini but came across Eastman's. Think I might go for one of those now. This really helped. I need to try before I buy and my nearest stockist is 2 hours drive away. That's quite a trek here in England! 😁 . Not so much in Canada I guess! Worth the trip though. Many thanks. 😊🌠🌼💖

    I bought an Eastman PCH1-D. It's an amazing dreadnought for about $280. Quality even at the budget level. Score one for handmade!!

      Yes it’s extremely loud. Sounds like A much bigger guitar than it is. Wow what a steel you got on yours!

      Lucas Haneman It is surprisingly loud. Yea I was surprised to grab it for that low a price but very happy. It was your video that helped me decide to get one.

    Just the view I been looking for, great stuff! Been tossing up between this and the OO and Parlour series. Differences are so subtle between OO and Parlour. Any thoughts?

    • @LucasHaneman
      @LucasHaneman  4 года назад +1

      I would say that you would get more versatility from the Parlour and OO, then the travel. All depends on what you are wanting? If you want one of these to be a travel guitar than by all means the travel guitar is great! If you’re just looking for something smaller to play that feels like a normal guitar than a Parlour or OO is the answer. It also depends on what you already have, if this will be your only acoustic the OO is probably the most versatile, but I personally own a dreadnaught so I like the ying and yang effect of the parlour being so different.

      @@LucasHaneman hey I ended up going with the e10OOSS - it's amazing for the price and a stunner too. I play it everyday. Now my local shop just stocked these Eastman travel guitars the ACTG1 and the ACTG2-E. And I think I'm gonna buy the 2-E because of this video. But their description say it is a rosewood fretboard and all mahogany body.

    I’m really considering the Eastman and the sheeran wo1, which should I buy

      It’s hard for me to say as I’ve only tried the Eastman, but I will say it’s the best travel guitar I’ve ever played. The amount of volume and projection is extremely impressive for its small size. With the mahogany construction it’s a very warm/woody Tone. Hope this helps and thank you so much for watching!

    Great review! What a player! Excellent! I have an E20D that I adore! I still want a Martin D18 though. I have two Taylors for sale. Hate em. I recently bought an Orangewood Oliver Jr.. I LOVE IT! Check one out if you can.

      Glad you enjoyed the episode! I can see why you are selling your Taylor’s not enough bass/low end for my taste. I’ve heard a lot about the Orangewood guitars and can’t wait to try one one of these days. My hope is to one day own a vintage Martin too!
