    Great video showing mistakes and all !!! Especially for us newbies. I'm coming over from a full-sized 42" US Cutter, and you made everything perfectly clear and showed me why so many people complain about how their reg marks aren't working -- they need to watch your video!!! "USER ERROR" as we would say on our end. I did notice one thing -- when trying to lay your paper down on the sticky mat, take your protective film and lay it down only exposing roughly the top inch or so -- then you can roll your project up (or lift) and pull the protective page of and work your print onto the sticky mat -- that's how I have done it with my larger cutter, and (although I'm STILL waiting for my Cameo 4 to arrive -- tears) -- I plan on doing that after watching your video as well. Just a suggestion, but it may help especially with those larger 11x17 pages :) -- Tim N

    Thanks for taking the time to do this video. I had no idea about the printer settings being an issue for cutting too. Please do reverse side to bray your transfer and to peel. Pull the backing from the design instead of pulling Front side up. Makes a huge difference to transfer

    I watched your tutorial from beginning to end patiently. I'm generally very impatient when it comes to any tutorials longer than 5 mins but you was worth learning from. The one thing you said that stood out for me as someone who's looking to purchase sublimation paper for heat transfer printing was "it doesn't make sense to buy sublimation paper for light fabrics when sublimation paper for dark fabrics does both" I never thought of that!!! And I'm glad I watched yours before I purchase my first ever sublimation transfer paper. Thank you for the teaching!!! Love from New Zealand :)

    I also use the offset feature on the initial outline and set it at either .05 or .10. That puts the cut line inside the image because many times once you cut the image it leaves some of the white vinyl around the image. It's an extra step but makes the image looks better.

    Good work! I have a dumb question, lol. Why is that some people use a printer and some don’t while using the cameo 4? Is it a preference? Or it depends on what project you’re doing? Thanks!

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions  4 года назад +10

      Not a dumb question. It’s a different method. As you can see i printed a design onto the paper. The Philadelphia city sky line. Using this method you can print anything you want onto the paper then the cameo cuts it out via the registration marks and the outline the machine reads. The other way is just cutting vinyl or If you had a pre printed on paper where the entire sheet had the image on it you could just cut on that as well. There are different ways to do things and there are different materials you can use to make different types of merchandise. That was a good question.

      A-Dubb Productions Allan Wade so why a cameo 4 vs a cricut maker or a silhouette. I am going to purchase an updated machine and just like to hear why people chose the machine they chose.

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions  4 года назад +1

      Lisa Gordon So Silhouette and cameo 4 are the same thing. Silhouette cameo 4. We just say cameo 4 for short. My main reason I got the cameo was because the software to create the designs does not live on the companies website. You can use it when you are offline. Just download it in your computer and you got it. The cricut to me seems more like a hobby machine and not a machine you would find in a business and ofcorse the software to make your designs is on the companies website. You don’t have internet access and your screwed.

    • @SoulfulXprssion
      @SoulfulXprssion 4 года назад

      A-Dubb Productions Allan Wade ... that makes sense ... So do you a monthly fee for the cameo site like you do for cricut design space - or are you saying I can DL to the cameo from the web .. but once I do I can keep it stored in my PC/Laptop? I have a cricut and I just don’t want to pay that monthly fee. I have the scan n cut and don’t use it and I know that is my lack of knowledge. But I am learning simply for mass die cutting stamped images. I want a silhouette because my daughter is making shirts, masks and so much now. I was glad to see you say there is a new heat press coming out because she asked me to buy her one. And I love she doing things to create some income from stuff she enjoys. Which I do not mind investing in.

    I am new to the print world. You do not have to use any DTF POWDER?

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions  2 года назад

      I made this video a few years prior to dtf being a big thing. I’m sure it was around but it wasn’t as popular and as availed as it is now. This is exactly what you saw in the video. No Powder or anything. I just printed out of my printer onto the appropriate paper and pressed it on.

    I'm new to your channel. Did you ever give instructions on how to "cut" your letters from a photo? I have an Affinity program, which is similar to Photoshop. I've been tried to figure out how to cut my letters out of a photo to apply to a shirt like you did. Any suggestions? Thanks. I recently got a Cameo 4. Your videos are very helpful.

      So, I don't have Affinity (I use Photoshop/Illustrator, myself), but I would imagine it's the same principle:
      Basically, you want to turn your letters into a "clipping mask", to hide the image-pixels around the letters.
      1) Make sure your image is on one layer, and your text-layer is ABOVE the image layer.
      *(Depending on the circumstances, you might have to convert the letters from text to shapes. But I'm sure Affinity has that ability, too.)*
      2) Select both the image & text, find the "Clipping Mask" button in Afinity's menu, and make the mask.
      That should be all you need to do, to get the effect. All the best, my friend.

    Hey, I’m new to your channel and thank you for this tutorial, question do I need to purchase a printer , I’ve seen other videos and a printer wasn’t used , it went straight from the Silhouette to the heat press, was that wrong or am I able to do the same ?

    • @eagleeyeprintingdesigning5443
      @eagleeyeprintingdesigning5443 3 года назад

      The reason for the printer is to put the art work into your wording. You can go straight from cutter to press just means you will have plain colour vinyl pressed to your garment, that is where the different types of vinyl come inter play like glitter, camo, neon, chameleon etc. hope that helped your question.
