"Light, Love & Mojo"
My cat loves her wheatgrass that I got her so she'd stop eating my basil so much, she rolls her little face in it. Whenever I make spaghetti or anything that requires basil she RUNS for her grass so that she can be involved. It's really cute.
I find that growing one small garden bed of these grasses keeps our "garden kitties" out of the flower and veggie beds. The "garden kitties" are ferals who have tamed down enough to sleep in the garden shed where we feed them. (And yes, they are neutered/spayed.) They eat the grasses and lay in them when it's hot. Well, I also bought them an umbrella to lounge under. :)
You are WONDERFUL!! THANK YOU!!!🥰🥰👍🥰👍👍🥰😻😻😻😻😻😺😸
I love you for doing this!
I always feel happy hearing how people are nice to animals🙂
Thank you for loving animals
I don’t have cats, but I love Jackson Galaxy’s videos, I was able to help a lot of my friends with this. especially the cats were happier
Get a cat, Karel! In fact...get 2!
I do the same with dog videos. I don't have a dog but my grandma does.
Yeah I said that 3 cats ago buddy. Just wait.
I have three cats - two are siblings and are 2. They loved my houseplants when they were kittens until I trained them to stay out of them. I bought them cat grass and they didn’t care too much for it. My newest kitten is soooo different from my older boys. He loves anything and everything and he absolutely loves his cat grass - he mainly likes to destroy the plant and roll in it but he has fun doing it so that makes me happy.
How did you train your cats to stay away from the plants? I have a lot of plants as well, but so far I had to keep them out of my kitten's reach. I'd love to train him not to mess with them!
I have 7 cats. They are getting older and don't destroy my houseplants (as much). Our lawn is only fertilized with good natural fertilizer.
@@fatim0nster wait for him to get older. I had a jungle in my entryway and 5 kittens destroyed it. Just started collecting house plants again.
Tip: don't grow the grass in the plastic bowl that comes with the package. Put it in a heavy, clay pot or planter. That way they can tug on the grass without upending it.
My organic and new age store sells organic wheat grass already grown, and I've had me cat munch on it.
New age is dangerous, better convert to Jesus Christ Who loves you!
Yes I bought some wheat grass already grown in a plastic thing. He had a ball dragging it around the kitchen.
@@privatenoneofyourbusiness5292 Jesus would be creeped out by this weird comment
@@privatenoneofyourbusiness5292 yikes ur dangerou
@@privatenoneofyourbusiness5292 Ridiculous. I am a religious person but
I am not going to talk about Jesus when we are watching videos for cats and grass. UHG !!! Holy cat Robin.
None of your business , WHAT ???
Are U around 3yrs old ???
I hope you found this Helpful
The truth sometimes hurts.
Yeah, my cat's 100% indoor cat and he loves his grass(wheat/oats), just checking to see if JG gave his Blessing's on it... 🇨🇦👍
I notice my hairy cat passes hairballs through stool after he eats grass, instead of throwing them up. I grow then cat grass. Mine is barley.
I've had this happen too with my second cat, the only problem is.... when he poops the hair out, the hair gets stuck in his butt so when he's done... he drags the hair ball and some poop around and made a giant gross mess on the floor. Hasn't happened since but still... gross. Lol
@@yazzybananas3106 my cat is only a medium hair. I've only had poo stuck to his butt once and I have no idea the reason. He tried to drag his butt. Good thing we have tile floors or 😱.
Someone needs to tell my cats to quit cleaning out their insides on my carpet.
That's why you get a little wet vacuum for your carpet. Works really well.
Lol mine too
😹😹😹😹
Lol! Even mine do that 😂
Mine is very educated, he always seeks hard floors to do it 😆 my little one ate a tiny laurel leaf (the kind to season food) and the internet told me it was not good for him and he was only 2 months old, so i euahed outside to try and make him eat some grass.... and he was like "no, thx" 😅 called the vet and they said it was fine, no toxicity to cats and it was a really tiny amount, but either way to keep an eye on hin. Always call the vet
I let my kitten out into the garden for the first time and he loved it. He was hopping around, chomping on the grass, not too much but happily running around the garden! Just hoping the grass doesn't upset him or anything but we haven't put anything chemical wise onto our garden grass.
This is so timely. My family and I knew that grass was good for upset stomachs in cats, but recently my cat has been actively trying to get outside to chew on grass (he's strictly indoors and is usually just content with sitting at the window). He's also had some other signs that he's been feeling gross/nauseuos, but this video confirmed that there's probably something serious going on. He had a vet visit lined up for tomorrow, so I'll be sure to let them know about the grass thing. Thank you!
How was your kitty? :)
My cat has been trying to eat dirt for years and the vet just thought she was weird but never would check her for deficiencies, but I always knew something was off about that so THANK YOU, now i gotta go talk to my vet and get her rechecked. You just made my day! Thank you Cat Dad!
WHAT KIND OF VET IS HE!!! No vet should ignore something like this!
We planted some cat grass outside and our cats love it
My boy is the same. He loves his little pot in the kitchen 😊
My cats just looked at it shrugging and went on nibbling on the chives. 🤦♀️🤷♀️
All the cats and dogs i've had in my life have eaten grass. My dad always said it was pet medicine. They were alway very particular. They would have a goid sniff and only eat certain types or even indervidual blades of grass. My last cat loved a good graze. When i got my new cat i would bring in the same type he would eat.
My dog loves to eat grass, but it has to be a certain kind. We tease her and call her a cow dog (we live in Texas and I've had real cowdogs, that work cattle, they always ate horse poop), and tell her that only herbivores should graze. She never listens.
@@unrulyjulie4382 lol. Yeah my neighbour used to joke that i would turn my cat out to graze because he was so fond of grass. He also had a saggy belly that swayed like an udder to add to the affect.
My cat is fancier. She prefers lettuce over grass. She seems addicted to the stuff, too. Whenever I'm preparing a salad she looks at me and meows until I give her some. I think she just enjoys the crunch.
I recently learned that spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum), which tend to appear on most "plants safe for cats" lists, are also mildly hallucinogenic for them.🤦🏼 We moved them up and out of reach after that.
the team that edit these videos do such an amazing job matching Jackson's personality
I feed my cats wheat grass everyday! They like wheatgrass. My outdoor cat eats the home grown wheatgrass and outside grass too. The amount he eats...I think he part cow too! 😆
I'm not sure that's normal... id check his health :)
but if he is totally healthy, haha that's kinda funny
Could you make a video on other plants that are okay for cats to eat? I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information when trying to research.
For example, when looking up good plants to plant for cats in the garden I keep seeing lemongrass mentioned. But when I check the ASPCA's website it says it's toxic??
Then some other sites say it's fine in small amounts but mildly toxic? Why are so many sites recommending to plant it then? I'm trying to find plants that are good or at least safe for cats that also repel insects and lemongrass seemed like a good candidate at first, but now I'm left feeling confused. Especially since the ASPCA also lists catnip as being toxic to cats....
“Beginner grass for cat that’ve never eaten grass before” it’s sure not something I ever expected to hear
Our cat who used to be feral (she is inside only now) LOVES grass. So much so that we planted a giant planter of it for her in her catio and she loves to eat it daily and even goes and lays in the planter
My cat, Missy, loved her cat grass. Sometimes it worked too well and on inappropriate days. One year during a Christmas party I was giving she walked into the middle of the living room and threw up in front of all my guests!
thx
My mom had to take her cat to the vet because the kitty grass she bought from a pet store had cut up her insides and she stopped eating and drinking and was very ill. I’ve never seen this before so I’m trying to get to the bottom of this as I run a pet sitting business and have many kitty clients and want to correctly inform them. The vet said the blades of these types of grasses found in pet stored are sharp and do a lot of damage.
Did they find out what species it was? It wouldn't surprise me if the wrong grass species could end up being sold, grasses are very difficult to ID.
@@Hayley-sl9lm It’s been a while since I had that conversation with her and I know I took notes. 🤔 I read on about different types of grasses and what’s best for cats and came to the conclusion that I wouldn’t recommend it anymore to clients because I don’t want to have anything bad happen to their cats. There’s also trimming and maintenance and a short, three week window to which the grass is not good to keep out for cats anymore. Most don’t do this and aren’t told about it or the dangers of an indoor cat being bored and eating too much, etc
I told my mom to start watching Jackson so she had better tips for our four cats.💕
I grow organic cat grass from seeds in organic soil. My long haired cat loves it. He used to have lots of hair ball issues but now it’s very rare.
I trained my cat to walk on a leash and he is great at it except that as soon as we get out on the lawn between the apartment buildings where I live, he just wants to eat grass and I don't know what's been put on it so our walks are done for now. Thanks fir all the info about indoor grass, hoping if he lines it, it might cut down on his need for the outdoor grass and then I can resume the walks.
I just got my first cats after binging your videos!! Two sweet black/b+w brothers, straight from a local rescue. I’m going to grow them a big pan of cat grass to set by the big window for them now! Thank you Jackson!
Off topic learning thingy: My cat changed behaviour, stopped getting in my bed. ( it is winter here and cold ). Vet ( of course ! ) xrays, blood tests. He has very sore Knees. -back legs.
Anti inflamatories and my cat is back :). Now a daily dose of a liquid -easy peasy.
* in a 15 year old cat need the blood tests to make sure they can cope with the meds.
I thought he might have started having dementia. Still eating peeing and pooping fine. No obvious sign of pain.
* yes a set of steps for him is on the way.
I'm glad your cat is getting better. It's really tough when they get older. 😺
Thanks always Jackson. My mom always said cats eat grass to settle their tummies, but not let them eat too much or they will puke. I always felt like this was old wives tale information. True, but with little background info as to why. Thanks for the more in-depth explanation.
We call wheatgrass cat "salad" (I may have stolen that from Hannah Shaw). Our younger kitty is obsessed with it! When we bring home a new "salad" and place it on the counter, she meows, begging for it! She doesn't jump on the counter (definitely a bush dweller), but will yell until we put it on the floor for her. She doesn't like to share it with her older sister, so we put the leftover "salad" in the kitchen window sill so she can nibble when she feels like it.
As a child I would always say that our cats ate grass to help them poop. nice to know I was was right. thanks for the video.
What a genious!
I always thought it was to induce vomiting when they don’t feel good, at least that’s what I thought as a kid.
I just though they were hungry lol
Jacksons beard is growing out... I want to see him with a full bushy beard!
I had a cat who LOVED grass! I grew oat grass for him and he would SCREAM for it! As soon as he knew he was getting the grass, he'd just go nuts! We couldn't even give him the container it was growing in because he'd eat the whole thing. (His health was fine, BTW)
You can get cute bird cages and grow in them stuff like cat mint and grass, and weigh the cage down with rocks. As the greens grow towards the bars your kitty can prune them, and the cage will protect your plant 💚
I have been giving my cats grass their whole life with me (I always grow it by myself, so I know it's safe for them to eat it) and for them it seems almost like a healthy snack because they nibble on it between mealtimes, also I experimented this year with a big tray of grass (big enough that a cat can comfortably lay on it) and kept the soil damp and during the summer's heatwave they loved it, so I got another tray and they both had their own. It kept them cool for longer than the slightly damp (misted with water and kept in a refridgerator for 20-30 minutes) cool towels, which they also loved a lot when it was hot outside, but the con about towels is that they warmed up very quickly and cats were hot again and looking for a cooler place to be. I just kept the grasstrays in a semi-shade(not in direct sunlight but not in the complete darkness either) and it stayed cool to the touch. Also they could nibble on grass while laying in it.
it's also a good way to teach your cats not to eat other plants in your home.... let them know the grass is there for them by positive reactions like petting them or giving them treats and let them know the other plants are yours by reacting in a less positive way.
JG is looking more and more awesome by the day during this quarantine season and put on the perfect amount of weight/muscles. 😺😻
I plant popcorn for my cats. They love it
Jackson :why does my cat faint every time the vet tries to get a blood sample?
I wanted to test his kidneys and general health to see if it's safe to put him under anesthesia to have his teeth cleaned,he is 10 years old and every time when they try he faints, last time they had to administer adrenaline, atropine and oxygen to get him to come back.
Now I am scared to let them try to get blood from him because I got really scared last time and the vet was really pale as well when she came out to tell me all of it.Any advice on the subject?thank you ,Ana
Whoa. Hope you find the answers to your question for the baby catto's sake.
@@lillycali7287 I hope I do as well..it is frustrating because he has got suspected kidney disease but we needed a second test to confirm 😔he is on a kidney diet now as a precaution.
Oh no :( maybe he is extremely scared of needles because something happened in his past? You could try to figure out what exactly it is that he is afraid of and train him to not fear it. For example if it is the syringe you could show him one but at the same time give him some food so he can associate smth good with the thing he fears. Just an idea, unfortunately i am not a cat expert but i wish you good luck to find a solution
@@giovannigiorgio2256 thank you so much Nessi,I will try it.
Why not have them administer a light dose of anesthetic? IF they think it is safe. Or you might go to the Cornell Univ Vet Med website--they are one of the best and you could ask them. Your vet definitely should not just try for another blood sample.
I have a terrible time with gnats when I try to grow my own, so I just buy the organic mix grass already grown from the pet store. My boy was a stray and I noticed pretty quickly how much he NEEDED his grass fix. Bringing it in went a long way to stopping door dashing and it completely stopped him pulling on every little string/hair/thin dangly thing he could find. No idea what the psychology behind that is, but for a couple of bucks a month for something that's also good for him, I'm not going to over think it. His blood work comes back normal so all is well there. He's just my special boy with some quirks.
Love it - helping cats communicate with their "raw cat" selves! 💘
My cat has no access to grass. He recently started stealing lettuce. Message received, he gets romaine three times a week now.
If you can buy fresh wheat grass and put it in a glass of water or grow some that would be great too.
Hey Jackson , can you do a segment on panting and keeping your cat cool during hot times ?
Cooling mats can be great. My cat likes them in summer.
I've really been enjoying your videos lately. You go in depth on important topics, add a splash of your humor, and make the overall experience of learning more about cats enjoyable. For someone like me who learns more visually, adding in those edited scenes images really helps cement the ideas in my head.
I've purchased your book and a really neat retractable wand from your website, both have had a great impact on my cat. One fun idea going forward is to see it you could engineer the button that changes the string length somehow on the handle for more unpredictable play. I continue to learn more, so staying in your loop has really benefited me and my touchy cat.
Thanks for the great content, keep on being a rockstar!
Thanks for the information again Jackson. :)
very nice video I watched until the end.
God bless you and everyone who loves cats. I also feed the stray cats and give them love,
LET THE HUNGRY CAT NO LEFT, I WILL SPREAD THIS TO THE WHOLE WORLD 😺😺😺😺💖💖💖💖
We don't have a lawn, but natural grass grows in our old border out back. No chems whatsoever, and I don't pick blades from the side near the wooden fence.
My black cat is a super grass muncher. She begs like she's starving, yowling and can even get aggressive when I'm holding it.
I know her tummy is a little upset, we been told she has the cat version of IBS because after she got neutered she started getting bad diareah.
It was watery and she ran all over (could have made enough back to cleaner the carpet if we had a VCR cam lol) took her to the vet and after they shaved her bum cheeks, he told us she was kitty IBS. Put her on expensive rice+chicken med grade food sachets.
After years of trying, the only food (store bought) she can eat is basic iams brand. Every time a new dry food comes out, I try a small bag but usually, between 2 to 4 weeks after she starts eating it, she gets the runs. So its back to the iams. Even the iams wet food affects her after a couple of meals. (We call it 'hotbot' it gets hard and very hot as it comes out, she often startles when that happens, so we have to follow her in case bits drop off into the carpet)
So she gets a sachet for Xmas dinner, one for boxing day dinner and one on new years day dinner. Rest of the year, hardtack
I keep telling her "get me those lottery numbers, enough to fix stuff, and you can have fresh real mince every meal" lol. No luck yet tho.
My cat LOVES the wheat grass I grow for her. I began growing it for her as she became so obsessed with eating spinach from my salads she would literally jump into the fridge every time I opened it so she could get to my bag of spinach. She still to this day gets excited when I come home with groceries and she goes searching the bags for the spinach. I sprout my wheat grass, no messy dirt and she adores it so! I frequently find her asleep with her head laying on the grass.
I walk my cats everyday, but I buy them organic wheat grass which I leave indoors for them to nibble when they feel like. I change it every week when I buy new one at the farmers market. I don't want them nibbling on what could be dog pee outside, but now you made me think of the pesticides! I'm going to try to grow my own since I have nothing but time right now. Thank you for the idea!
Me: no, cats shouldn’t eat grass
Jackson: *im going to end this mans whole career*
Not funny man.

😹😹😹😹😹
Never knew i'd find a tv celeb on youtube. Really knowledgeable guy!
Started walking my cat outside with a leash and harness this spring/summer. He will chew on grass here and there if it’s newly grown. He doesn’t really eat alot of it.
Thank you for sharing! My cat is getting bored an he suddenly wants to eat random stuff. I'm glad to get the real info on grass
I want to start growing some grasses for my baby, since she seems so interested in my plants.
I was just going to buy some cat grass to grow this weekend. Thanks for the informative information!
I like your glasses, Jackson!
I don't usually eat grass. Lol! My cat eats grass that grows naturally, in the filed, that I bring him from the country side.
I also grow catnip, which he loves, loves, loves! He always ate a lot of grass.
But yeah, he has stomach/intestine upsets from time to time.
I loved the grandma analogy. Very true
Thanks for your videos ! I subbed yesterday and i watched like about 20 videos aleready... insane ❤️🔥
When I had a row of different herbs in pots, my cats would go along the row till they got to the parsley and have a nibble.
That calico with the catnip plant is my Bella!!!!
I plant popcorn kernels for my cats' grass, they love it ☺️
My indoor cats loves citronella grass in our little garden.. And now neighbor cats also likes to sneeks to the garden to taste our grass...
My cat loves organic oat grass that I grow for her! It is her favorite! She has loved it for the five years that I have had her since I adopted her.
UC Davis is the top ranked vet school in the world (as listed by several media sources). I trust any research they publish.
My adopted cat has zero interest in eating plants out of a pot. I’m guessing former owners must have trained that behavior. She only ate the cat grass I grew if I cut it and sprinkle it on her food. I have a catnip plant as well, and she loves to eat it, but only if I cut a piece off for her.
Try getting a long flower planter instead of a pot, she may eat it out of that!
Little princess. Just call her your ladyship
I knew about this already!! Yay!!
My friend gave me some home grown cat nip yrs ago the boys loved it.
It’s basically cat drugs. They 100% loved it.
I rescued a malnourished 5 year old underweight cat with bowel disease, bad infestation of mites and worms . I started her on fresh meat and cat grass and her health turned around almost immediately without any drugs.
That's the best thing ever, nothing beats fresh Greens and Proteins👍
So glad you said organic seeds!!! Great little video!
So idk if anyone here can help….. but my cat has been desperately wanting to eat grass, he also has fresh blood after going to the toilet. Vets CANNOT find anything wrong with him. I have done every test they’ve suggested to the point where they have recommended him to go to a specialist for a biopsy but I don’t want to do a biopsy if perhaps there’s something else Maybe vets have missed? He gets wormed regularly, checked poop, ultrasound, blood test 2 times, swapped food to strictly hypoallergenic to rule out any possible food intolerance, I give probiotics regularly and keeps well hydrated. They said it’s either stress or go to a specialist but they still didn’t seem confident about going to a specialist bc it’s such an invasive procedure and they don’t think there’s anything actually wrong but yet I still see fresh blood and cries daily for grass. Issue has been present for 2 years, on and off. There’s no changes to his behaviour other than wanting to eat grass (some days more desperately than others) and it’s now a daily routine for him. He does get hair balls occasionally, throws up a hairball every few months but I do brush him regularly and I have a cat groomer come brush & remove undercoat to all my cats every 6-8 weeks plus he’s been checked regularly for any potential blockage and ultrasound covered stomach, intestines and other organs I can’t remember. Any advice would be appreciated as I feel a bit helpless and the fresh blood stresses me out & I cannot emotionally afford for anything to happen to him 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 should I just get him to a specialist? (He hates going to the vets so would rather not stress him & make it worse but I will if I have to….thanks in advance x
Hello! Have you heard of Mexican Feathergrass? I seriously wonder if it has healing properties! I had a cat with congestive heart failure who LOVED it! I looked it up and didn’t find anything saying it was toxic. They gave her 6 months to a year and a 1/2 to live, but she lived 3 years beyond her prognosis. Thank you, Mr. Galaxy 🐈
We got cat grass for our cat Freya and she started trowing up at night. Musuc-y barf with little specs of blood (almost stepped in it too).
So I called my mum in a panic (she's a vet) and she told me to take the grass away immediately!
Cat grass is not great for cats, it purges them because it's irritating their stomach (hence the blood). Freya obviously had a lot of fun munching, but throwing up basically because your insides are cut to bits, that does not sound healthy to me.
And yes, we got the grass from a pet store.
I was literally opening an online order package that contains “cat digestive grass” as I clicked on this video😹😹😹
Google is watching you!
It's funny cause I live in a rural area with no other neighbours and we don't really take care of our yard cause it's so big :). We only cut the grass every once in a while. My cat can eat grass whenever she wants :)
I have 3 different pots with cat grass that I rotate when the cat grass is getting low or needs water. I will look into those other grass when these ones are done.
Thank you, I didn't know that!
I bought a bag of orchard grass hay that I originally purchased for my hamster. I kept catching my cat going in the bag and it has become his favorite treat! I have to hide it from him or else he'll just eat it all day
Interesting, I've seen that species on only a few webpages for cat grass. It is supposedly a very palatable forage for livestock as well.
My 6 month old kitten likes a nibble on bits of lettuce (cabbage is a firm no). Lions and tigers eat grass in the wild so no harm in a bit of fibre!
My cat isn't really interested in catnip but she loves my spider plants. I have to keep one or two pots outside her reach so that they can regrow a little before she obliterates them again.
I tried to give her some grass but she would make a mess of it; at list with the spider plant she'll munch on the leaves instead of pulling them out of the pot and leaving them all in the floor.
Amazon sells catgrass for $2.50. My cat baby loves it!
My cat is harness trained, and since I know my lawn hasn't been treated in over 6 years. Its great to know that she's fine munching. Ive noticed she mostly spits it out, i think she like the texture
Im currently preparing a 5×5 foot square of ground for cat specific grass so i can easier keep the mow guys away from part of the grass i wanna keep
My cat goes nuts when she sees I have cat grass for her. I do have to monitor how much she eats. I call it her "Kitty crack"! lol
Thank you so much. I have lemongrass on our balcony on which our three cats love to munch. It did not make sense to me at all until I found it as an ingredient in a supplement we use (the are B.A.R.F ed) and it says that it cures fur and skin problems...and they have occasional outbreaks of mild feline acne. No longer with fresh lemongrass. I was stunned. Raw cat science is real.
Primal sacks Jackson! my cat has one, gotta know as much of the story as I can.
My family used to have a cat who really loved eating rose leaves (or rose petals, I don’t remember which). He passed away a couple years ago at age 12, but I still remember him munching on the rose leaves.
I plant wheatgrass for my cats during the cold seasons. They like it but they still prefer the natural from the outside (indoor cats that do supervised grazing). It still is as organic as nature alone can be, neither I or my neighbors use fertilizers, chemicals or anything for well over 5 years. Plus the cats have some fun with crickets and butterflies, and when they grow tired, walk right away back inside.
My folks used to say cats enjoy grass to help them clean up fur-balls, which holds true until this day: when they (badly) want outdoor grass, they will be throwing up a fur-ball in no time after munching. And then they happily come back in for a fresh set of wheatgrass.
literally just bought cat grass two days ago, i feel like he’s in my head
My cat hates cat grass but loves normal lawn grass. He’s a house cat but I let him out to have a much every now and again as well as bringing a little pot inside. I want to keep him inside with all the goodness of outside...we also don’t spray any pesticides or nasties on the grass because, poison!
Why does it matter that oat grass is sweet? I thought cats can't taste sweetness.
(Edit: typo)
They can't taste sweet but it might be more gentle? 🤔
I know! This was my very 1st thought too...🤔🤔🤷♀️
@@felishabolzenthal9079 I have a cat that does that too🤣. My only guess is they like the fat...they do the same thing with butter. 🤔
@@carinawoodmansee9699 as far as i understand, cats like milk products
I grow various cat grasses and Wombat only likes the outside grass. He does love spinach but I throw out wilted grass too much
Thank you Jackson!👍
My kitty goes nuts for grass!!! (He must've got used to it when he was a stray (just a kitten too~BEFORE he adopted US❣️👏🥰) I bought him one from grocery store 2x but they die so quickly and he has a hard time picking it out, so I get some from our own (when it's not cut & landlady doesn't 'treat' it, either) or near the woods so I know it's not treated...I give him catnip too as it aids with furballs & digestion, but he doesn't go crazy for the nip~🤷🏼♀️
Stay ’safe’, everyone! Blessed be~🌜
Yep the pesticides where I lived I waited for a really good rain and I'm renting so I have no control over what's put on the grass but I waited for a really good rain and it still wasn't good enough it's soaks into the grass blade and he almost got poison to death he was falling over his eyes were cloudy it was a close call ☹️ what sucks is when I grow my own or buy it from the pet store they won't eat it they'll only eat it from the lawn 🤷
My 2 cats use to eat grass occasionally at my old home here we have no grass, but our grass out the back had no chemicals or anything that, both cats were going outside until my first cat got sick in 2016
My cat loves to chew pineapple tops!
Why are some cats obsessed with plastic? Like licking plastic grocery bags or chewing on the thicker plastic that comes around a pack of drink bottles. I have one cat that does this sort of thing all the time and whenever I catch him doing it I'm always afraid that he'll actually eat some of the plastic and get an obstructed bowel. I've read speculation in places that cats that do this are doing so because they're missing something in their diet, which this video reminded me of, but I have two cats that are fed the same and only one does it.
Maybe one has some health problem? Like hormones etc.
My cat eats some kind of tiny leaves that tastes like sweet and tangy. No idea what it is. It was in my empty pot mud. The tiny leaves grew, and my cat daily munch on it. The leaves look like 3 heart shaped together
We have grown wheat grass in new large dog’s clear litter pan. Our indoor cats and kittens will use it as sleeping bed to eat grassy snack on our back screen porch while they’re cat tv watching : birds , airplanes , squirrels, dogs , humans , frogs , wild rabbits and chipmunks. Every once awhile, they would jump out of grass bed to use their tree scratching post stub , drink some water , use their outdoor litter pan , play with their toys , wrestle each other playfully or to lay on their favorite humans’ laps on porch.
I used to buy carrots with the long stems still attached, and give that to my Maine Coon, and he LOVED it! As soon as he would see me messing with carrot greens, like rinceing them off, he was immediately begging for the greens!
I tried growing cat grass (wheatgrass), but I guess I wasn't using enough soil, or something, as the earth would get contaminated with mold or fungus, and become unmanageable.
my cats can't get enough of wheat or rye grass. i grow my own, can't grow it fast enough. the hard grasses makes them vomit and gets rid of pellets, ever seen a raw cat pellet? worse than owl pellets ;-) ,the softer grass don't make them throw it up
Awesome! Definitely needed this info for my babies.
