DIY Puff-Sleeved Dress with an Open Back + NEW PDF Sewing Pattern

- Hi everyone! In this video I’ll show you how you can sew this gorgeous, absolutely ethereal open-back dress 💙

Here are the materials you’ll need:
- 1.45-2 m or 1.6-1.9 yds of woven fabric
- Elastic 2 cm or 3.4” wide by 1 m long for the waist
- Elastic that’s .5 cm or 1/8” wide by 2 m long
- matching thread
- glasshead pins
- scissors
- measurement tape
- Eloise pattern
I chose a pretty light blue linen fabric for my dress, and I recommend a light to medium weight woven fabric such as poplin, twill, linen, modal, rayon, silky fabrics, or eyelet cotton.

I want to turn this into my wedding dress by lengthening the skirt (and potentially a train)... but I'm being told it will be too heavy for the waistline with this pattern. Thoughts? I think I could make it stronger by not using elastic?
If you fit the skirt so it stays up without the top it would be perfectly fine

So i downloaded the PDF and printed out the patterns and folded my fabric in half but pattern #4 is too wide and won’t fit on my fabric like the picture showed to lay my patterns out. I’m not sure about how to go about making my patterns fit width wise once i fold the fabric.

Hey I downloaded the pattern and wanted to start to put everything together but the overall design ease throws me off😅 is it already included in the pattern or do I have to add it to the pattern?
Hi! The design ease is already included - this is a way of describing how much space and room the dress has at different style lines (bust, waist, etc.) for comfortable movement :)
