    Can I just say, I love how she doesn't use any fancy, curved rulers and tools to make her patterns. Usually kills my motivation in other DIY videos.
    Thanks for keeping it simple Jess

    Thank you SO MUCH for this complete pattern making tutorial ! I have a figure that’s full of extremes (very small shoulders, very large bust, small waist, very large bottom, short height) so I was afraid of buying a pre-made dress (expensive so better be sure it fits !), and pre-made patterns can have the same issue with fitting me. Now I can draft my own tailored whimsical cute dress !

  • @Helena-sq9uu
    @Helena-sq9uu 2 года назад

    Thank you for the easy and understandable sewing tutorial :) . I really like this style of dress. The instructions are easy to follow and it didn't take me long to sew this dress. With the fabric I chose I didn't like the fit of the skirt. I think it was way too voluminous. So I ended up shortening the dress and sewing some darts at the side seams. I also think that a shorter zipper (40 cm) would have worked maybe a bit better. And what you can't see in the video: don't forget to finish the seams and press them open if needed.
    edit: The way the circle skirt is made in the video doesn't work for a fabric with a directional pattern because otherwise the pattern would be diagonally. So I used some white fabric to draft the skirt how it's explained in the video and used this draft to cut out the skirt pieces from the actual fabric.

Tip for improving the video: it is better to take measurements in tight clothes. T-shirt or longsleeve with tight sleeves. From this video, it's not very clear to me how to take a measurement to build a sleeve, but I will try to measure it, and I hope to get similar values

      @@JessDangDIY chị ơi. Phần ngực trong video chị nói 30cm mà sao trên màn hình ghi 28cm rồi e nhìn trên cái thước trên video là 24cm vậy?

    •  3 года назад

      @@JessDangDIY 28cm= 1.3 x 1/4 bust size.

    The dress is amazing ! I tried it, it fit so good, i have more or less the same mesurements as yours, it fit perfectely everywhere, except in the back and I don't know why 😭 Waist is snatched, but the back is so lose with a lot of gaping..I don't know what I did wrong, I'm a beginer so i'm really confused, I wanna try again but I'm not sure how to fix that
