I don’t know how much it would bother enfranchised players (maybe some of them, who’s to say), but as a newer player I really appreciate the clear rules and reads on cards on this show. It’s helpful to learn the cards and think through the interactions - sometimes people read them but skim through but this was really direct, as usual! Cheers, here’s to another season of Shuffle Up and Play!
Some clever editing to cut out moments of silence helps with that. Cimoooooooo regularly has an over 2 hour recording of 3 games be cut down to 40 or 50 minutes.

I absolutely love the jokes about making sure things are explained and keeping rules clear, it always cracks me up when it’s enforced with such hilarity - the banter and profs reaction to all of it was fantastic
I love the back and forth between Mason and Jesse, they definitely highlight and work with your humor in such a great way! On a side note, Jesse is definitely showing off here! You should get her on here for the first episode of archenemy!
I'm really a Commander player, but I cannot stress enough how much I enjoy the guests of shuffle up and play and the various formats. It's so much fun and helps me to better understand the game in many ways. Your selection of guests is awesome, and while many might be known in the mtg community, I enjoy them the first (but not last) time, since I hardly look beyond EDH. Keep going and thank you, Jesse and Mason!
As a commander player who is considering trying pioneer but has no idea where to start, seeing a whole bunch of decks in one episode is really helpful! Thank you!

Season two starting off with a banger! I’ve read and listened to Mason and Jesse for a long time but I’ve never seen them before, so it was great to put face to name.

That Izzet Creativity deck reminds me of my favorite Shape Anew deck (splicers, shape anew, blightsteel colossus). There is something so satisfying about having a gimmick where you start revealing card after card and everyone realizes exactly where this is going.
I’m so happy that the players keep showing the commentator the cards they drew like they just opened a sweet card in a pack. Me and my friends do this all the time and it just makes me feel validated
I honestly play abrade in main board in a couple decks, there's way too many artifacts and smaller creatures going around, it is almost never dead in hand. Also I might add, I appreciate the professor's style to dress like an arizona ice tea can

I love how this show has so much format variety and isn’t solely another commander show, not that those are bad

Good lord the wittiness levels were off the charts in this one. Almost felt scripted how quick everyone was with a joke. Super fun episode

Loved these games and it was a great idea to have everyone switch the decks up between the matches. It creates so much variety in the gameplay.
