After that, it took around 3 hour to complete all smaller update which requires restart, and since i set my network to metered i need to manually click each small patch. Im using 4Mbps network btw. I don't remember much after that since i rush update everything while busy with my tab drawing app (i update my illegal windows to make sure superDisplay app working, it requires 1909 win 10 version at that time and the gamble works fine till now).

I’ve fully turned off my laptop multiple times and even let it just die twice and when I power it back on it goes right back to the updated screen with no changes. It’s been 92% for 3 days
Any still needs help turn your pc off (hold power button) then turn back on and tap F14. You will be then at a screen where it tells you to restart and a few other options. Disclaimer tho I had to reset mine for it to work
Thank you for the video. I just did the first one in command prompt and stopped the update. Once it stated updates stopped. I exited and did nothing else to see if I could leave it at that and stop the updates. Windows 10 has had THE most annoying updates in history of an operating system.
The problem is that even after i shut it down and restart it again it does not show my desktop screen but it shows the same blue screen that says "updating 7% dont turn off the computer"
I'm not sure whether or not people will see my comment, but I was having this issue with my laptop about three weeks ago. I fixed it by restarting my Laptop/PC (even though it says not to), which ultimately made the update restart, but actually make progress and finish, rather than getting stuck at #%. (22% in my case) I know it's scary to restart/ turn off your PC, especially when it says not to, but it worked for me perfectly and I had no problems after doing so. I hope my comment helps to whoever may read it.

Lol, mine was stuck at 22%. *[Update] Edit:* mine literally got stuck for 24 hours. I ended up restarting my PC. (Even though it said not to) I had to restart the update, but it actually made progress and finished after I restarted it. If you are are out of solutions and desperate to try and fix it then I would suggest restarting your PC. I don't know if it will have any negative impacts on your PC, but it didn't for me and it worked perfectly. I hope this helps.

It shows "Undoing changes made to your computer" depending on how much update was completed for me it was 7 per cent it took almost 10 minutes for undoing changes and booting PC normally

everyone have faith around 30 minutes in was on 12% took 2 and half hours to go to 14% then in 1 hour it was 40% = 3 restarts and 25 minutes later it was done 100% , logging back in to windows was slower and wasn’t loading so I clicked Ctrl + alt + del and that sorted it , good luck everyone !

I did exaclty what you said and when i went to the last step to type in start wuauserv that is says cannot find the wuauserv file and to make sure im typing it right so now im stuck on this. im just hoping the updates leave me alone.

You have to hold turn off button till it not turn off and then again start your laptop it will show u black screen and then it will show u "Reinstalling previous version" and then wait for 15-20mins.... It will start as your normal windows.....

I have the latest windows 11 with built in secure boot with defender. I discovered what happens when we have a secure boot working as a team with windows defender. In the middle of browsing youTube I got an unexpected finishing installing windows window. Knowing I had a secure boot system I held down the keyboard key start button. In 10 seconds I got a shut down window I could shut down as normal. I waited for 10 seconds and restarted. Bootup worked like clockwork. My computer rebooted as normal I could log into my desktop as I always could. Everything worked well and as fast as new computer I check my defender settings Nothing was changed/ I checked updates. Everything was up to date. I could resumed browsing as if nothing had happed.

NVR shut down during a update it'll fawk up your computer. Just wait if it's still frozen on whatever percentage. U could probably restart and it'll take you back to the last update.

I have an HP laptop and did a shutdown with a windows update yesterday. It is now 16 hours later and my screen is black with a constant dotted circle going around. I am unable to use any keys or mouse and get any other screen to come on. I tried your suggestion of turning it off and then on again but still get nothing. I have turned it off, taken the battery out, taken the power cord out. Held the on/off button for 60 seconds put the power cord back in but not the battery and still nothing is happening. . Can you please help me?

Did an update an went pass this part. I had it set as update and restart. It restarted but never went to my password screen. I have been sitting here looking at my screen of my computer that is on but still stuck on the laptop loading dark screen like it was just turned on. I never interrupted the update so idk why it is doing this.

He means hold button to force a shutdown. Then start computer again. But don't really know why we couldn't just restart using restart button. Might be that restart button won't work therefor forcing a shutdown then start computer is only solution.
