Microsoft should be freakin ashamed of themselves!!! People forget that Windows actually costs money, and most FREE open source systems run safer, faster and have 0 update issues on most hardware.
Windows 10 is free
@@iRON90111 Wrong.
@@johnnada1917 it is tho
Its free
I mean hey, nobody can get that rich without robbing and scamming people and been selfish and greedy. The richest people in this world are also the most that have scammed billions of people all over the world
for people who still have the slow 'Microsoft updates' download , unless you have slow internet speed, try this :
Make sure that the download speed in Delivery Optimization > advanced options > Download Options set to Absolute bandwidth , if the boxes under it are active make sure you turn them off, and set it to absolute bandwidth.
some people may have it active on limited download for background and foreground without realizing , that's one of the reasons the download takes a long time.
Thank you sir
Where can we make these settings?
@@MenACE001hit windows key and type in Delivery optimization its in settings then check if its limited.
It’s too late for me. I will now stay here for 10 years.

Great tips and examples. Keep up the good work.
As a last ditch pass I'm a big fan of 1). backing up important files to an external drive, 2). fresh Windows install using latest ISO, 3). update missing drivers and patches.
Great tip!
Use clonezilla or macrium reflect to image your system. Use Google's backup & sync to backup NB documents instantly. Limit is 15Gigs. Otherwise Backblaze offer unlimited storage

*Desktop still on 1909, no 2004 update offered, not complaining, leaving it there.*
don't blame you Neil
this is amazing, its literally just been at the restarting screen for the last 15 minutes, i haven't even got to the part where itd supposed to take long
How do u get out of the starting screen
for me it is on 24% since 5 hours
It's stuck on the restart screen...
Photograph your screen before changes so you do not have to remember what was enabled / disabled
Some time ago there was a message flashed during boot, I used my phone camera to video so that I could read what it said.
I wish I was back in the days of Dos 6 and windows 3.11 back then I spent 99% of my time using the PC for what I wanted now I spend over +50% doing updating and fixing.
1984 we had an Amstrad and a 30MB hard card and for years we used ABC4 accounting software with very few problems in 10 years, we never filled the disk EVER.
I deeply wished that MS would bring back the LTS channel release selections for those PCs which don't really need feature updates like retail, production level, public signage etc at very least for Win10 Pro editions, like it used to have.
Buggy win updates are a primary reason why OEM vendors dont always push them on Win10 embedded systems.
I am aware that its apparently enabled in Win10 Enterprise ed but that ed is super expensive & in todays CV19 depressed economic climate its a hard sell to quote on per unit cost, when the PC hardware itself costs very little in comparison & is getting cheaper
Thanks Brian on doing a video on another great script.
Any time!
I notice that the more old version of w10 you have gone through the slower the installation of new feature update takes. I personally do a clean install to the latest version of 10 (after Windows as fixed most of the bugs) after 2 to 3 feature update so to keep Windows more clean.
Darn, I wish I saw this a week ago. I did updates, it took 4 or 5 times, keep re-starting.. finally loaded.
Sorry to hear that
@@Britec09 hello, the link to reset windows update doesnt work anymore
Can you help me please?
actually worked.....so far...version 20H2 at 7% better than at 0% all night before. cheers!
To the best of my knowledge, if sfc finds issues you should then run dism with 'check health" then' scan health' and then ' restore health'
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow
@@Britec09 correct. It's NB to run sfc again after the 3 dism commands to make sure things have indeed been repaired.
can you please provide an updated link for the script you donwloaded?
Thanks a lot! My main takeaway is the powershell script and the Set-ExecutionPolicy command. I was also asked about the restricted execution policy when I used a Windows 10 debloater script you featured in a video back then.
Yes, you always have to remove restriction and then restrict when finish

they still haven't fixed USB ejecting hard drive back up saying its in use when I am done with it

I really hate mcaffee antivirus. I can't uninstall it and it messes with my disk all the time. They have so much running applications in the background
27 hours later and its still stuck at 30% install after rebooting. This can't be normal?
Did it completed?
Did you fix it somehow? I think i have the same issue

God bless you and thank you. None of the other instructions here were as thorough as yours.
What do i do when your in the blue screen and it says working on updates i cant access the trouble shooter aaaaa
When windows gives big updates twice a year, how to update those through offline means? I googled, but I got confused as to what files need to be updated. Brian, Will you please make a video on that, because we have often power outages here.
Please provide link for reset windows update.ps1
Link you provided in desc is not working. Thanks in advance
in my experience... the trouble shooting tool never helped me. But yeah... windows restart updates takes forever! it feels like it's frozen... but it's not. even with a powerful machine. at least it's better then a blue screen... thanks for the tips! ;)
Thanks a lot...!!
It worked for windows 10 Home 20H2 update. I was stucked at 97% from 6-7 hours, your video help me out to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks for your guidance...🙏🙏
KB5018410 stuck at 44% for three hours now. Things I want to use my PC for have to take a back seat to the whims of the Microsoft.
Really, the frustration for me is the lack of any information. IE: Windows XP updates had a progress bar and told you the file size. Here on Win 10 I have none of this information.
Computer:ima just go sonic mode
Thanks for that - Very helpful. After a few days of waiting for nothing much to happen, I followed the above step by careful step.... and eventually "Eurika" ! I must admit though, the download then update started (slowly, but surely) without me going through and running the Powershell script at the end. I wasn't entirely sure what that part was for... Perhaps you could expand on that a bit in a message here so I can weigh up the merits of running that part too ? Anyway, thank you so much - and well done ! Great job.
I have an issue that, whenever I resume updates then it comes cumulative update (for every month) it takes too much time to install(nearly 5-6 hours on the settings page and takes 20 minutes to restart) and at that time period when I use my pc it freezes frequently and in task manager, it is 100% disk usage(during the update, process name-'system' and 'windows module installer worker').
So my point is do you have any solution for this?
because windows module install worker install updates and does most thing for changing files of the os
LoL I had same problem and watched your full video and when I came to my pc to apply this trick I see that my pc is restarting 😂
Unfortunately I cannot do any of that in this video because the computer has been stuck on a black screen all night it had shut down and was in the process of restarting and it has been stuck all night long and still stuck. How can I fix that?

I have tried all these and still wil not update, what else is there to do apart from buy a Windows disc and reinstall but my laptop is only 4years old and when I bought it it had Windows 8.1 on it please any advise would be appreciated thanks
User can't use windows menu and utilities when Frozen at working on updates 35% complete. Ie no start menu
as I was watching this vid it finally moved from 91 to 93 after 7 friggin hours. I wish updates for anything would give you some form of how long you may have to wait for it to be installed. I shouldn't have to go online to see people saying it could take 3 to 4 hours meanwhile mines takes 7 hours.
How long did it take mine has been like 6 hours and it's at 93 moves once like every hour
@@slowdownalex5388 the update bricked my computer. I don't know how to contact windows to ask them why they send messed up updates like that, but I gave it to my brother, and he helped reinstall the windows. almost lost all my work if I didn't back it up. I bought a new computer bit more expensive, but it sucks that windows 10 sucks so so sooooo bad. Make sure to always back up your files if they are important to you.
@@kickbeez642 how to back up them
@@maksisskorodihins5344 you can back up your files through an external drive 1TB size, D drive on computer or you can back them up on microsoft OneDrive. when it comes to one drive it's connected to your microsoft account so when you reinstall windows you just log in and your files should be on One Drive.
I've never done D drive or One Drive so I don't know how to have them backed up there. You will have to do a quick google on those ones. With an external drive it's as simple as just sending your C drive to the external drive or setting it up so that your computer is constantly backing up your files everyday (that's if you want to leave the external drive plugged in all the time.)
you've helped my crap laptops survive . Thank you.

After the last Windows update one of my computer's will no longer boot. The original install disc will not either repair the disc and it can not reinstall windows. The disc is recognised but after following Microsoft's instructions still any attempt to recover or reinstall is rejected. I may have to reformat and switch to Linux. Typical Microsoft, year after year....little changes sadly. Oh I have up to date Bullguard premium av protection... Just caused by a Microsoft update, to a fairly new SSD drive. I could not resist commenting as this is very frustrating.
Great videos..helped me on many occasion.. my windows 10 update function has been stuck for the past couple of weeks on Something went wrong..try to open settings later..any ideas what would be causing this ?. I have tried all the normal steps to resolves this.. I don't really want to have to do a full windows 10 reinstall but i might need to.
Glad it helped
Try updates in a new user profile. I'd enable the full administrator acc. If updates do not work in that Admin acc, run sfc and 3x dism commands (check, scan and fix health). Then shut down and try updates in the admin acc again. If that fails, Google win 10 software distribution folder location. Backup that folder then rename it, reboot and try update again. Could also be the Background Intelligent Transfer Service having failed / become corrupt.
@@zadekeys2194 Thanks for the advice.. much appreciated.
@@zadekeys2194 Hi Zade, i've already done exactly all that you mentioned a week ago (great minds think alike I guess) anyways I followed everything in the vid and it still doesn't update. It installs to 100% in about 20 minutes then gives me "Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x8007000d)" I've tried 14 times using different methods and same 'ol thing. I have 2 HP slimline comps and one updates without a problem and the other doesn't the only difference is the one that works has an Intel i3 proc and the failing machine has an AMD proc, I wonder if that's the reason. Oh the one that works is a Windows Pro the failed one is a Home version. I also did a reset of the computer and that didn't work either, weird. Next I'm gonna setup a VM on the failed machine and do a fresh clean install and see if that works.
@@midnightstar6398 use Veeam free to backup an image of the pc /vm. Then install using the standard Microsoft W10 2021 image. If that doesn't work you can just restore the image you made. Good luck
My update hadn’t finished after 12 hours
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!
HELPS SOOOOOOO WELL
THANKS BRO! 🔥🔥🔥🔥😄😄😄
The solution is to get a solid-state hard drive for your computer. I have refurbished computers that were eight years old. Just make sure they have at least six gigs of RAM and a solid-state hard drive and even a computer eight years old will fly with windows 10. Even the feature updates will only take a minimal time with a solid-state hard drive on an old computer
As installing updates slow your pc down, the best performance on your pc is not to update at all, especially if they get stuck
My Win 10 no longer goes into automatic sleep since 2004 was installed , I always have had my laptop enter sleep mode after 90mins , not anymore :(

Interested to know the difference between feature updates and specific ‘security updates’ I want my pc to be properly secure with all latest updates, but the latest feature update doesn’t install on all my computers, it only installs on some but not others
There is a known ‘compatibility’ issue with the latest feature update which will allegedly be fixed sometime soon
But is the pc ‘secure’ and safe to use online without the latest feature update? Or does the feature update include needed security patches too which the pc is not secure without based on latest know vulnerabilities?
Feature updates do have security patches

2. Then choose the best-matched one.
3. Then right-click it to choose Run as administrator to continue.
