      @@toddarcher2542 No, there is absolutely no offside rule in box lacrosse.
      As an example, check out this video from the most recent NLL Cup game - the goalie makes a save, then fires the ball three quarters of the way up the field to a player coming off the bench, who streaks in for a breakaway goal. It starts at roughly the 11:20 mark.

    In small town Ontario, it was played outdoors in summer in unused natural ice rink. The unflooded floor was dense packed clay. It began to move indoors in the late 1930s. My father is in the LaCrosse Hall of Fame and had two Mann Cup Rings.

    When deciding my favorite sports, I couldn't choose wether I liked Box Lacrosse or Ice Hockey better. For all descriptive liberties, these sports are very similair. Box Lacrosse is like playing Field Hockey in the air (at least, that statement made a lot more sense in my mind). Ice Hockey has faster mobility, but Box Lacrosse has a faster projectile. So I Just said F-it and I put both sports at the same place on my list of favorite sports.

    • @clipboss8052
      @clipboss8052 6 лет назад +1

      One thing I could agree on was that I prefer Box Lacrosse over Field Lacrosse because not only does the boxed field make teams closer (literally) and the game twice as tense, but the goal net is smaller than the goalkeeper so it isn't as easy to score. I'm not gonna suggest for a second that scoring in Field Lacrosse is easy, but the goal net in Field Lacrosse does seem to have slightly more openings for a shot.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  6 лет назад

      I agree with most of your points, particularly pertaining to the goal (and the goalie). It's a completely different style of goalkeeping for both sports.

    • @clipboss8052
      @clipboss8052 6 лет назад +1

      I almost chose to prefer Field Lacrosse because the field is larger (meaning that player need more stamina), and it is actually outdoors like how the Iroquois used to play it. But then I simply remembered my previous points about Box Lacrosse, and I found out that the most successful American box lacrosse team in the US, the Philadelphia Wings (now known as New England Black Wolves) are partially owned by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut. This (at least in my mind) shows confirmation that, despite the alterations, Box Lacrosse is still faithfully following the tradition of Lacrosse as the Native Americans saw fit all those years ago... Or it's just the Mohegan Tribe trying to add funds to their tribal nation, I don't know.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  6 лет назад

      I heard about that. The Iroquois tribe have players spread throughout the NLL and they even compete as their own nation. I'm surprised more Native tribes don't own more of a piece in either Field or Box Lacrosse.

      @bubba842 Год назад

      Lacrosse players have a rib protector too.
      The gloves are different also.
      Most people wear hockey shoulder pads, but Lacrosse shoulder pads are different. The biggest difference is the bicep pads in lacrosse. They come down further than hockey shoulder pads, they pretty essential as hockey shoulder pads leave a gap between the elbow pad and the shoulder pad. This gap is not good, especially when people are cross checking you. The gap will leave you with bruises all over your upper arms.
      The cage for the helmet is different, box lacrosse uses hockey helmets as opposed to Cascade helmets worn in field lacross.

      Ninh erklärt die Regeln von Hallenlacrosse, eher bekannt als Boxlacrosse.
      Ein Sport, der üblicherweise auf einem Eishockeyfeld mit Kunstrasen anstelle des Eises gespielt wird.
      Die Fläche beträgt ungefähr 60x26m. Hallenlacrosse wird mit zwei Mannschaften zu je 18, mit je sechs (6) Spielern am Feld. Ein Tormann und fünf (5) Feldspielern.
      Ziel des Sports ist es mehr Tore zu schiessen, als das gegnerische Team.
      um ein Tor zu erzielen, muss ein Spieler mit seinem Lacrossestick den Ball ins Tor schiessen.
      Der Ball muss die Torlinie komplett überqueren, und der Schütze darf den Torbereich (Crease) nicht betreten, damit das Tor zählt.
      Die Tore sind 1,45m breit und 1,2m hoch, der Crease ist 2,8m
      Das Spiel beginnt mit einem Faceoff. Sobald ein team in Ballbesitz ist, hat es 30 Sekunden Zeit aufs gegnerische Tor zu schiessen.
      Wird dies nicht erreicht, geht der Ball zum gegnerischen Team.
      man kann den Ball direkt zu einem Mitspieler passen, bodenauf, oder man kann mit dem ball laufen.
      Die ideee dahinter, ist den Ball in eine gute Position zu bringen, und aufs Tor zu schiessen.
      Das andere Team, wird versuchen mittels Crosschecks, Bodychecks oder Stickchecks dies zu verhindern.
      Sie werden versuchen den Ball zu bekommen, um selbst Tore zu erzielen.
      Das spiel geht 4x15 Minuten, gesammt allso 60 Minuten. Das team mit mehr Toren am Ende der Spielzeit gewinnt.
      Wenn du mein regeln des Eishockey Video gesehen hast, weisst du, dass die Sportarten sich sehr ähnlich sind.
      Wie beim Eishockey gibt es Dinge die man machen darf oder auch nicht. Wenn man eine dieser Regeln bricht, gibt es eine Zeitstrafe, und man spielt in Unterzahl. Das Team mit der Überzahl heisst “Man-up”. Dies macht es einfacher ein Tor zu schiessen, da es einen Verteidiger weniger gibt.
      Das Team in Unterzahl heisst “Man-down”und wird üblicherweise wie verrückt verteidigen bis die Strafe abgelaufen ist.
      Die länge der Strafzeit hängt vom Regelverstoß ab, diese kleinen Strafen resultieren in zwei Minuten.
      Wenn das Man-up team ein Tor erzielt wird die Strafe aufgehoben, und der Spieler darf die Strafbank verlassen.
      Diese schweren Strafen resultieren in 5 Minuten Strafzeit, gewaltätige versionen der kleinen Strafen, die Absicht jemanden zu verletzen und Raufen.
      Anders als kleine Strafen, endet die schwere Strafe nur wenn die Zeit abläuft, oder das andere Team drei Tore erzielt.
      Miscounduct Strafen haben einen Spielausschluss zur folge, zwei schwere Strafen sind ein Misconduct.
      Das klingt einfach, aber es gibt noch ein paar andere regeln, die man verstehen muss bevor man zu einem Spiel geht:
      Beispielsweise die 8 Sekunden Regel, wenn ein Team in Ballbesitz es nicht schafft den Ball in 8 Sekunden in die Angrifshälfte zu bringen, führt dies zum Ballverlust.
      3 Man-down Die Regeln vom Hallenlacrosse besagen, dass jedes team zumindest 3 Feldspieler haben muss. Wenn bereits zwei Spieler auf der Strafbank sitzen, und eine dritte Strafe bekommen, gibt es anstelle dessen einen Penalty.
      Penalty, gibt es bei einem 3 man-down, oder wenn ein Gegenspieler einen Angreifer unfair bei einer Torchance aufhält.
      bei einem Penalty startet der Schütze vom Mittelkreis und darf nur einmal Schiessen, selbst bei einem Abpraller.
      Jeder Schuss der hineingeht zählt als Tor.
      Sudden Death Nachspielzeit, es gibt keine Unentschieden beim Boxlacrosse. Daher wird in einer Nachspielzeit der Sieger ermittelt. Diese dauern üblicherweise fünf (5) Minuten und das erste Tor entscheidet.
      Das war jetzt viel auf einmal, aber wenn man sich ein wenig Boxlacrosse anseht oder selbst spielt, werden die Regeln schnell klar.
      Wenn du das Video hilfreich gefunden hast, like, kommentiere oder teile es. Es dauert ewig um ein eines zu erstellen, und gutes Karma ist sehr willkommen.
      Wenn du auch auf Reddit bist, kannst du es auch dort posten und Diksutieren, und in der Zwischenzeit, geniesse Box-lacrosse.
      I think there are plenty of key words that you should know where fits what, if you need any help i am happy to deliver.
      Greetings Oskar

    Why are the goalies wearing fat suits, how are supposed to make big saves like that

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  6 лет назад +1

      Being a lacrosse goalie is completely different to being a hockey goalie. The idea isn't to move a lot because you won't have time to physically react. Instead, the idea is to cut off as much of the net as you can whilst moving minimally to save the shots that come from above. Hence why they have enormous padding.
