The Rules of Futsal, otherwise known as Futsala explained here. Watch this video to understand Futsal Rules, which are different to Football or Soccer. Be sure to like, share and subscribe :)
Do you think you could do a video on the rules of softball? It's very similar to baseball.
Not much demand and certainly not enough rule changes to warrant having a completely different video to Baseball.
Ninh Ly I might've already asked about this but what about international rules football?
You already did, and it was already on the list before you asked. But when it's being made is anyone's guess.
Ninh Ly Have you considered doing a video for Finnish Baseball?
"There's no such thing as off sides." That's all I needed to hear. Sign me up.
Cool.
Agreed I think having no offside in football would make it more fun more goals more entertaining games never happen tho
Because it's called "offside", not "offsides".
But, in Futsal there is no offside rule. So, in Futsal there are no offsides and no offside!
😂
@@ryanevans126 The difference is that Futsal have a small court so an offside rule just makes no sense to have like in football, but I agree, no offside rule will mean way more goals but I'm not sure if making it easy to score will be for the good of the game or not because the beauty of football is how it is to score making every single goal worth the effort.
Why futsal isn't an Olympic sport, I have no idea.
I think it will eventually Ron, it's only a matter of time.
M.hassan Abdullah khan no its not
because it already has an elevated version of it
The fun thing is that Futsal started as a indoor training exercise for footballers, especially schoolchildren. Some of the rules are designed with the intention of encourage ball dribbling and passing skills and discorage just running and fouling. Hence no or less sliding tackes, shoulder checks, offsides, little heading. It became popular in urban spaces as a full sport. Futsal comes from spanish Futbol or portuguese Futebol (football) and sala (saloon or indoor). It will be odd that a training exersice for a Olympic sport becomes another Olympic sport. But is actually closer to playground football that the field version.
Also there is a tug o war between the AMF and FIFA on who controls the international game and set rules for international futsal. If that is not solved, it cannot get into the Olympics,
Just some details you forgot to mention:
- The goalkeeper has 4 seconds to pass the ball, unless he is in the opponents half, if that's the case, there is no time limit
- You cannot pass the ball to the goalkeeper twice in a row, if this happens an indirect free kick where the keeper received the ball will be given to the opposing team. You can only pass it again if an opponent touches the ball or if the goalkeeper is in the opponents half
- Flying goalkeeper/5th field player: This happens when the goalkeeper is substituted by a field player in order to have an extra man attacking, this tactic is mostly used when a team is losing and the game is approaching its end
- Advantage rule: Like in football/soccer this happens when a player suffers a foul but a teammate gets the ball, so the game progresses, the only difference is in the next stoppage, this foul is accumulated to the team that commited it
- 5th + foul inside the 10 meter radius: when a team commits any foul after their 5th one but inside the 10 meter radius of the goal, the player decides if he wants to shoot the freekick where the foul was commited or, just like it's mentioned in the video, shoot it from the 10 meter mark. NOTE: In both situtations there is no barrier
Hope I helped some of you guys here :)
Does the goalkeeper only have 4 seconds to pass the ball when it is at his foot, or does this rule only apply when the ball is in his hands?
@@kamitams1479 like I mentioned above, with the ball on his foot, the goalkeeper has a 4 second time limit to kick it or pass it only if he’s inside his team's defensive half of the field, when he's on the opponent’s half, there is no time limit. When he has the ball on his hands, after saving a shot or if the ball passed the goal line, he has always a 4 second time limit to throw the ball
@@kamitams1479 One thing I also forgot to mention, if a goalkeeper dribbles the ball from his team’s defensive half and passes the midfield line, the time limit is stopped because he entered the opponent’s half of the field
thx a bit late, but I have a question I have heard in futsal that u need to touch the ball with your hand just b4 u kick it from a kick in or corner is that true?
@@user-rm2rl9vp9d No problem. No, you don't need to touch the ball with your hand before you kick it from the side line or corner, players do this however to hold the ball in place because in a side line or corner kick the ball cannot be moving when it's kicked
Finally no injury time. Ive always disagreed with that in Soccer.
Sure.
I've been playing this sport for 20 years. Now I know the official rule of this game. Lol
my first game is in 45 mins, thanks for the speedy guide
How did the game go?
3:36 the keep didn't even flinch lmao
Aha, no he didn't. What a save! Thanks for stopping by!
That's how it works hahah, you flinch you miss the ball
Yes! The video of I've been waiting for.
I actually requested this when I watched your Rules of Football/Soccer video. Once again great job. 👍🏼
Thank you Juan, I'm glad you approve of this video.
It took a while to make, but I finally did it.
Very nice video! I'm actually photographing my first futsal game this coming weekend, and I had no idea about the game at all. You explained the rules very clearly and now I feel a little more ready for Sunday night.
Glad I could help!
Amazing job with the rules, Ninh. Always wanted to see you post "The Rules of Futsal". Here in Brazil we play Futsal more than Football(Soccer) in schools, because usually you only need a small court and a ball. The best player for me is Falcão. No one can do what he does in game like Trick and Passes.
Obrigado Valdemberg.
Sim, eu assisti Falcao algumas vezes, ele é incrível.
Muito obrigado por comentar este vídeo! -benzóico!
Pretty much all of us grew up playing futsal in the streets then start to play football. I only played futsal until I was 16 because we never had the wide grass space to play…
Good work again, mate! Always love the sports vids :)
Thanks as always Frederick. Appreciate the Twitter shares too! :)
Ninh i love your videos. They aee very useful for my PE lessons.
just one tip, as i am a futsal player, slide tackling is alloed, as long as you touch the ball qnd not the defender.
Hope that helps u
What I meant was slide tackling (i.e. making contact with the player) is not allowed.
I should have mentioned in the video that you can slide to contact the ball.
Thanks Ernest.
I know I'm like 6 yrs late, lol. If u make the slide tackle and get the ball first but then follow through and make contact with the player is that a foul?
I love to find old videos of Ninh’s that I missed😄
Thanks Ben, I'm sure you'll find a few videos that you might have missed?
Great video! I would like to make a couple of suggestions on the video (adding them as annotations perharps?):
1) In the accumulated fouls section there is an important detail I think is missing. The 5 fouls rule is per half, I have the feeling watching the video the 5 fouls is in total (but the acc. fouls counter is reset at halftime).
2) While slide tacklings and shoulder charges weren't allowed some years ago, and still are in kids or young levels, at adult and pro levels is almost the same as football/soccer. In fact, I'm watching in pro level recently even basketball style screens in kick-ins and corners (I think that's a foul by obstruction in football/soccer). So maybe some clarification would be useful for pro level just in case.
Best regards and keep up the good work!
RUclips ceased annotations, so you can't use them anymore.
But you have to remember - this is a complete beginners guide and I don't want to bamboozle anyone with rules that they don't initially need to know about (like the goalkeeper pass back rule).
Very informative and much appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks bro, much appreciated!

Greetings from tiny Republic Missouri USA. Our city started a fusal program for our soccer kids this winter and we can not wait! Thanks, this was helpful!
Thanks.
thanks man! always thoroughly and skillfully explained!
Appreciate it man, thanks for the comment!
Ninh Ly, you are on a frenzy with these videos as of late. Excellent work as always!
(Note: I'm trying to implement the TRAF method at work. I'll letcha know how that goes as I implement it in the weeks ahead.)
Awesome, thanks Dan.
You have to be pretty ruthless with the TRAF system - but it does eliminate a lot of dead-wood tasks that either someone else could do, or not important at all.
Let me know how you get on! :)
Thank you a lot:) Great explanations.
Great helpful video. Thank you.
Thanks, glad you like this video.

As a guy that usually watches assoc.football the accumulated foul rule & the rules against aerial play suprised me the most about futsal, based upon your explaination
I must admit, the variations seem baffling at first. But once you understand why, it makes sense in this version of football.
I think futsal is awesome. Love playing it
Yeah it is pretty awesome.
This game gives you the edge when you play on grass field...fast pace ..pass n move..
wonderfully explained and nicely edited video
Thanks Ajai, glad you approve of this video. Glory Glory Man Utd!
This video made it an interesting game to me, I'm definitely going to try watching a full game or 2 out of interest now.
Well explained. Good job
Loved it!

Thanks so much it was really helpful
Tanks dude great vid
Thanks Eddie! :)
Excellent video this channel is highly legendary keep it up
I'm trying man, thanks very much! :)
I like Futsal. It's more technical and skill-minded than association football, which is probably why the hoofers currently on the Coventry City roster will be played right out of the park. (I'm a Cov City fan, I'm allowed to say that)
Each to their own I guess.
Great video 😀
Thanks Daniel. Plenty more sports to come, not enough time to do them all!
So Helpful
Thanks man, much appreciated :)
Well done mate
very well explained.
Thanks George, glad you like these videos!
It is soooo good :) it will help me in the futsal match during wednesday
Hey Ninh. I love your videos! You should do a video on the rules of indoor soccer (the North American version).
I a soccer player wanting to play futsal and I didn’t know the rules. Thanks so much
Awesome thx
Anytime! I'm glad you like this video. Subscribe for more!

TnQ for your video
Looks fun
Indeed it is. Great sport to play and watch. Thanks for the comment! :)
Shoulder tackles and slides were not allowed till approx. 2010. It's a part of the game for a decade.
That looks a fun game.
Oh it is!
You require a lot more skill and control than if you were to play football, and the skills and tricks are immense.
Check out some of the Futsal Tricksters around RUclips, just jaw dropping stuff!
Thanks for stopping by! :)
Thanks so much
Thanks! Glad you found this video useful.

Cheers mate
Thank you
good job
Thanks bro, much appreciated.
Thanks for explaining it with a voiceover, you don't know how hard it is to just read
quality as always
Thank you my friend, much appreciated! :)
Interesting freekick rule, akin to basketball, according to the number of fouls.
Our secondary & high school's football matches were effectively futsal, though we played with a regular football, using the handball goals. Our gym had these color-coded lines indicating basketball, handball and volleyball areas and we used the handball area I suppose. But there was all sorts of fouls and everything. On hardwood floor no less. How fun it was, going to the gym in the longer lunch break with mates. Finding a team to support (if your class is not playing, you can find another one whom you have more friends in), then chanting your heart out. It was extra satisfying if you beat the more senior year.
Interesting variations.
Thanks
Cool, glad you like this video.

Thank you so much, preparing for the world special Olympics 🙂
I find futsal so much better and easier to understand than that strange version of indoor football we played in school: the one where you can bounce the ball off the walls and you can't go into the semi circle around the goal unless you're the goalkeeper.
Yes, Futsal is the better indoor discipline.
Yh that how we played in football courts I love to play futsal just need to get fit to do it
Sounds awesome!!! Just curious is there any sports videos you are currently working on. i.e. rules of...?
Thanks Andrew. And yes, I have another 16 sports on the slate.
As for what they are and when they'll appear ... they could be anytime and be any sport.
Thank you I have a tournament coming up and didn’t know what it was
Thanks! Glad this video helps. Check out my channel for more like this :)
Good video that explains the rules simply - the accumulated fouls rule is per half for adults
Thanks Denis.
Yes
Thanks.
No sliding Tackles If player posses ball
can be made to intercept, block, pass and goal
That's what I have read on site but I have seen players making slide tackles on possessing player in matches
Rules of beach soccer?
Maybe if there's more demand.
How about YOU do beach soccer?
Ninh Ly what? Lol
Ninh Ly I want to see indoor soccer if it hasn't been done.
thank you
Anytime bro!
great knowledge of futsal , kindly let me about goal keeper throw how log it
That helped alot
Thanks Sam, much appreciated!
Please post about Sevens Football a seven a side Football played in Indian State of Kerala. It's so fast and energetic that it has more fan following than Soccer
Good
Thanks bro.
I wonder if there make a futsal video game that be fun to see
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! 💖
Cool, glad you like this video.

Tnx sir great information , But I have question, if someone hit the ball in to goal outside of the ground or from out will be count as a goal
Thanks, i have a school tournament tomorrow and i dont know the rules.
That's what basically every kid in Brazil plays in school
I can imagine that this is what every kid plays.
please do MINI FOOTBALL RULES and SOCCA RULES.
It's football in spirit
But basketball in rules
Ummm, kind of. But it's still football.
It often uses basketball courts as well. Most basketball courts in my country are dual purpose.
sou português e às vezes não temos espaço para jogar futebol e isso é muito útil
The ball isn’t just a size four ball, it’s weighted, that’s why bounces less
Yes.
ninhs back, aaaaaa, im so late
No worries, welcome back to my videos :)
BryanNasaSpace RBLX lol so was I
Wow
So if there's no offside, how do you keep one player from staying too close to the opposing goalkeeper for a long time? I also know basketball doesn't have offside too but they have a version of it that keep a player from staying too long on spot. Unless staying for too long on a spot is actually allowed in the game.
Can you do one about bicycle races like Le tour de France, La vuelta a España, Il giro d'Italia, etc?
Ummm, seems pretty self explanatory.
I played Football and Futsal for over 24 years throughout my life and loved every minute of it. However, the part I hated the most was the bullshit diving/embellishment from players trying to draw a penalty. Growing up in Canada with Hockey as the most popular sport for youths and sports fans in general, I'm happy to say that I never acted in such a way in front of my teammates, spectators, and family. In fact, my father always told me not to play like that as you would be demeaning the game and yourself.
Now that I am a lot older I completely appreciate the difference of athletes when comparing Hockey to Football players.
Washed up Football players should go into acting, specializing in daytime soap dramas.
Totally agree. The embellishment is crap, almost bordering on laughable. Certainly a blemish on the game. If harsher rules were put into place and instant replays implemented, it would pretty much stop overnight.
Thanks for stopping by.
Diving became popular in the 1980s when tougher foul rules were enforced to protect the skilled players from cavemen like Vinnie Jones. The players then started using it for their own advantage, specially Southern Europeans, the Dutch (Robben am looking at you, no era penal) and South Americans. They even train for it. People like Neymar are so shamless about diving the have become memes. Im hope the VAR and yellow cards should stop it. For me is just cheating.
I thought this guy sounded familiar I just realised your the guy that does stadium tours 🤣🤣🤣
What if a goal is score directly from kick off by keeper deflection?
Ninh Ly, you should make a video on Indoor Soccer (or Arena Soccer / Minifootball), which is different sport than Futsal. In North America, Indoor Soccer is more popular than Futsal, and there's even a professional league there (Major Arena League Soccer). Personally, I used to play the sport during the winter.
If I get enough demand, yeah.
Is the futsal ball lighter or heavier then proper football looks very fun sport might try get into it and join a team
Also, the game is very skill move heavy.
It certainly is!
Thanks Laura, check out my channel for more content like this :)
Thanks Ninh, I have notifications activated. 👍
👏
Love these sports videos!!! Can you do a QnA #Ninh_Ly_is_The_Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got that planned for when I get to 100,000 subscribers ... it's taking a while to get up to that number though!
You will get there soon!!!
