I had read about these two for many years! I’ve always thought their names are, in fact, diminutives, such as abuela in Spanish, or grandma! I thought that Amenhotep used these name for them!

Thank you! And I think it’s presumptuous of some people to ask, like I said if people follow me on insta they will see in February I lost my voice and spoke in a very low tone for almost 3 weeks before it began to heal.
@@CurtisRyanWoodsideI think part of it is your narration voice is not the same as when you are talking in film clips you are much more alive when you are talking and Philips you can feel your joy and your love of your subject when you're talking to people or when you're looking directly at the camera or when you're interacting with people and the items are etc but you're overreaching narration when you're just reading the paper or reading the script it doesn't come across that way and so I think when people talk about your voice they're not talking about you on camera or when you're with other people they're talking about your narration voice.

What an amazing documentary Curtis, Yes you are right not alot of people would know the Yuya and Thuya's tomb was the first ever complete tomb found in the Valley of the KIngs it was also the first tomb to have a charriot found in it as well. Fanstatic Curtis looking forward to your next video.

@@CurtisRyanWoodside Way off topic, but I just wanted to tell you that there's nothing wrong with your voice. I don't know what people are talking about, except maybe they mean in the narrations your voice is deeper..... People's voices change pitch for all types of reasons, sore throats, colds, allergies. Whatever the case, it was fine. oNly critique, you look better with short hair rather than long hair simply because it shows you features better. You have very strong eye brows and the long hair obscures and clashes with your features. Okay. That's it. Go live your life and don't let the idiots get to you.
@TRUTHTEACHER2007 thank you so much! I’m glad you said it. I have always had issues with my sinuses and throat. I take chronic medication for my sinuses. I often get infections etc so it does affect my voice. I am also back on a nebuliser to help. And yes my voice has become deeper in the last few years because of this. But I get some days where my voice is almost back to normal but often I have a raspy voice and have to speak softer and lower.

Awesome, amazing work, love this, very interesting documentary. 👍❤️🙏🏼. I love learning about other cultures and history of ancient civilizations, especially Egypt since most of it has been written and more preserved than others that may have been overtaken by self seeking ambitions, and/or natural disasters. It’s so sad that much of history has been lost and destroyed, how much more we could’ve learned from our ancestors if things were different and there were no grave robbery taking place or warning factions. There is so much more lost through eons of time and wars, plus if we don’t learn from past mistakes, humanity will be repeating them again, which a lot of our society seems to be going through again now, greed, power, control, corruption, etc., these will never unify us or as a nation, it will only cause our downfall and the destruction of our own doing. 😥

I want to see a reproduction of what their daughter, Queen Thye, looked like. I believe she was a beauty. Amenhotep III married her even though she was a commoner. Her mummy is still beautiful.

In your reconstructive illustration of Tuya, I can't help but think you didn't allow for more plumpness of facial tissues as in life. Also, in a book a few years back there was a photo of Tuya with a large (wig?) amount of hair some of which had small braids among the curly mass. So wonder if that was the original way she was found in her tomb.🌿
Her wig was in a box in her tomb, but it was so degraded that they had thrown it out. As for the plumpness, she was a very short thin woman in life, and as Sofia explained she had subcutaneous packing which has filled out her face to how it would have been in life, so I’ve added a bit but she had a thin face anyway 😉😇
I have seen the artifacts of Toya and Yoya in Cairo Museum many times, but this is the first time to learn about their amazing story, and watch and visit such wonderful places with you, Curtis. Thank you, very much, for this wonderful documentary.

interesting to learn about them and how they were preserved but where does this knowledge come from? was it something experimented or handed down knowledge? I guess their elaborate coffins had some effect on said preservation. Interesting to hear about resin will have to look up how long it's been around. I don't imagine they knew when they would perish and takes so long to make and craft their resting places what craftperson's they were whomever made them. Is there any evidence of templates to how they made these coffins if it was based on a set size frame. What an interesting life they led and would be an interesting story if done in film version as well. Well done #teamCRW I waited until I had time as these documentaries need focus and rest to enjoy them as fully as I do thank you :)
It was first practiced in the Sahara. “The black mummy” is the oldest and was found in Libya or Algeria I believe. There’s more to discover in the Sahara they only uncovered 2% of the Sahara

Herodotus never described them as such - he said Egyptains have DARK skin (meaning: darker than average Greek) and curly hair and look LIKE COLCHIANS, who were people of Middle East.

I was told that only the royal family could have the pharaohs name. That may be just in the tomb but is that true? We were in Ramses daughter’s tomb in Saqqara and a guide told us that. They are technically in the royal family though.

Natron may not, but oxidative stress does. There is nothing natural about the hair colour, it clearly is decolored to the root, similar to what you see when people bleach their hair, it strips the melanin and creates an electric UNICOLOR. Nice try though.
Also, R1B is very common in Africa, Cameroonians are nearly 25% R1B. Africa has always had its own R1B, and Gonzalez postulated R1B was born in central West Africa, due to its distribution.
