I would cry the minute i laned in Egypt. Its been my dream since i was 10 yrs old. We studied Ancient Egypt in elementary school. 28 yrs later, im still fascinated n obsessed. Thank u for all ur time n effort u have put into all ur videos. I love ur footage from Egypt. Excellent work.
A wonderful production!!!!! Your beautiful photography, inspired editing, choice of music made a fabulous and little know part of Egyptian history just amazing to view. You are a star to watch, the information was incredible and it was genuinely a pleasure to see. A work of Art.
Even though Rameses died in late 80s early 90s, the close resemblance between him and his father, Seti1 is right there for us to see! Remarkable feats of technology...truly!
Egyptology always fascinates me. The facial reconstruction makes it more amazing. Plus the interesting drama and complicated issues in the Royal family
I've been studying everything I can on ancient Egypt since I was a child. Your videos always teach me a little something new and are absolutely enthralling. Thank you!
I love to study all ancient times, places & people! So impressive how much excellent material is available now regarding almost everywhere on the planet. And more being discovered, uncovered, re-evaluated, studied etc. and being made accessible every day! Thank you very much!!
There is two things I would like to mention is that there is a recording done by the BBC in 1938 about the Pharaoh Tutankhamun's trumpets. There was an attempt to play the trumpets. Starting with the silver trumpet but the silver trumpet fragmented but the trumpet was reconstructed and so the copper trumpet was played using a modern mouth piece and a good sound was produced. Also one of the cups of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun has a little surprise to it. If you shine a light in one of the cups there will show a scene of Tutankhamun and his great wife having a tender time with each other. It is really sweet to see it.
Average lifespan was skewed by infant mortality. It isn't like you will be considered old at 37 in a region with average lifespan of 30. If you survive as a child, there was a great possibility that you will reach old age.
I have recently found your videos and I have been voraciously watching them! You are fastly becoming one of my favorite documentarians. Thank you so much!
Another beautiful documentary. Well done Curtis! Much appreciated. I would only suggest you check if the Hittites had really lost the battle against the Egyptian army. Despite the Egyptian figures on the stone walls indicating it was a big win for Seti the 1st (and Ramesses II) and his army, the clay tablets from Hattusas indicate that it was a war with no winning side which eventually led to both sides (Ramesses II and Muvattali) coming to an agreement known as the Kadesh peace treaty (1269 B.C.).
Curtis I’ve just discovered your channel and love how you’ve brought the ancient Egyptians to life, both in story and through your artistic recreations. You are a national treasure. Thank you!!
Absolutely splendid! This is so interesting, intriguing & beautifully presented. I can't explain my passion for Ancient Egypt, but it's been with me always. I can tell She is a part of you as well. Peace & blessings be upon you and Egypt.💗
Bravissimo! I too remember visiting the mummy room in the Cairo Museum. The mummies were on very low podiums. I had to kneel down to look into the face of Ramses The Great for about 10 minutes. Like you I was just overwhelmed looking into the face of history. Thank your for fantastico video.
I was lucky enough to take my family to see the treasures of Rameses II as the collection toured the US. It was a phenomenal experience especially considering the fact that the collection was only. A fraction of his true wealth. My only regret is that I was unable to see King Tutankhamun's collection during its tour.
The period of Siptah and Tawosret always fascinated me. Although I looked at genetic flow charts I could never figure out who was who and how they were related. Amunmessi was someone I never heard of till today. Gteat Video!
Great documentary, I appreciate your work and your enthusiasm, keep doing it because you do it very well 👏👏👏I also appreciate your interaction with people on social media and that you try to answer to as many comments as possible. 🤗
Curtis fantastic documentary! - well done, just love your presentation - really extremely differentiated from other's ....keep up the good work......Watching from Hong Kong!
Egypt is such a wonderful place to visit. The Egyptian people were very friendly and the ancient monuments are awe inspiring! I travelled there with my husband and a running club. Our trip took place in January of 2017. I feel fortunate to have travelled before COVID and wearing masks because conversing with natives are part of the experience of traveling.
Im obsessed w/ anything Egyptian history. It’s truly fascinating , and I always love learning about Egyptian history I’ve never heard about before! I remember I was about 12 going to the Met to see the King Tut exhibit in NYC, as my Mom was studying Egyptology in college. I remember being so impressed and interested in the exhibit, and it’s never stopped since. Although when I did finally get the chance to go to Egypt, our guide iwas unable to get tickets to go into the pyramids, and I was so disappointed!! I remember him telling us they only allow 150 people in in the morning & in the afternoon because of the sweat from the people ruins the limestone! But still, imagine going all the way to Egypt and not being able to go into the pyramids. Ugh, so disappointed !! Who knows if I’ll go back, although I probably will because there is still so much I want to see!!!Thx for such a very well made & informative video!
Hello Curtis, I enjoy following your channel and study of Egypt. I was in Egypt for three weeks 21 Jan to 10 Feb 2022. Indy was my private tour guide in Luxor and Aswan. He is a great person, guide and friend. I will be returning to Egypt to continue my touring with Indy on 11 Nov 2022. Indy is a really fun person to have as a tour guide. I look forward to seeing him again. If you are in Egypt in November let Indy know. It would be fun meeting you!
I really like this documentary, talks about a topic not very well known and very interesting. This dinasty Is full of famous names and known for its glory but not for its huge inner problems , its not royal nature...really a good documentary. Thank you both for your huge work and congrats ♥️♥️
Hello from Texas. I love these episodes. Please keep up the good work on this ancient culture. Have you thought about diving into the ancient Roman culture?
What an uncommonly handsome and erudite presenter lol Incredible information. I hope your channel expands, and you consider a better on-site mic to avoid the occasional pinched- sounding vocal segments.
merci! hehe I really appreciate it. Indeed I have a Patreon now, which will help fund getting better equipment and making new documentaries. You can check it out for some exclusives at www.patreon.com/CRW
Brilliant overview of the 19th! The reconstruction of their faces really brought this family to life ... but tell us more of the nitty gritty of the Amenmesse vs: Seti ll feud! The usurping of tombs, defacing of monuments etc ... sorry, I'm begging another vid!!!
Nice 2 C individuals creating material. Some oft-retold common errors. Keep creating: the more people are exposed to ancient Egypt, the better ~ therein, before their eyes. ..the past become future, the salvation of humanity. Sa Sekhem Sahu Bcem
I think i would cry too if I could see Ramses mummy, personally . I do believe he was the Pharao of Exodus . I enjoyed watching this. I think you must be a good person 😊. My God , you have style !
Just discovered your channel. Very interesting and knowledgeable. I am a fan of Egypt and love the history of its people. How old was Ramses when he died. I read somewhere between late 60 into 80's or 90's.
Brilliant!! Very interesting to hear about the not so common knowledge. Speaking about a family feud, so is that one of Hatshesput and Thutmosis a good one, He almost made her disappear from history.
Wow it's Amazing to me how much history of the Egyptian life of the Royal family and all the battles that were fought to keep away all the invasion of other countries it's amazing how you were able to find out what the Royal family looked like in real life they do look alike it's a shame back then that they didn't realise marrying family would be the reason that they had health problems
You bring all of this history together in such lifelike ways. Not all of us can visit places like this of course ,and it is wonderful to have this opportunity to have you give so much help in the history and actually the ablity to get to know the truth of all of the characers that played such an imporant part in the history of mankind.( Or as close as possible.) I wer eyeliner and feel thi connection with Egyptions, nd always hve for soem strange reasons? I am not 72 yrs oldd, my hair is brown *naturally too, or mostly, as a tiny bit of grey is trying to pop in* but anyway *hope i am noot juged oon this* but still wear eyeliner but have tried to cut it down a litte bit. When friends says " Why do you wear makeup?" I say " Because I want to, as I do like it" But do not wear so much face makeup mostly light color on the lipstick and the eyeliner and mascara and if I do not have pink on cheeks that day I will put a little lipstick on it, and just shine it a bit. Now I know I must end wearing it one day soon, I suppose, but just have trouble with this "habit?" But canot help but wonder why On earth this has stuck with meso much? Maybe no connection at all, but we all have our own quirks of what we like or not. Just enjoy so much getting to know more and more about Egypt and its people. Thank you!
Magical as always Curtis. Though I must beg to differ with your depiction of the Great Wife Nefertari. She has a heart shaped face, large elegant eyes, and full lips. To me, she resembles more her statue, though, much more beautiful. Also, my opinion, far closer to Sofia Aziz. Extraordinary work again. Bless you🌹🍃🌺🍃🍇🍃🍓🍒
Very good video. Good voice and perfect music choice, maybe only if not too much reading (can be a little boring if too much sorry) and more you talking naturally?. Thumbs up!
I have been watching these again and learn something new every time. I do have a question Curtis as you are an Egyptologist. Do you think the Osireion is contemporary with the temple of Seti !st ?...and what do you think its purpose was ?. Thank you.
There was a strong familial resemblance between that entire family! It's also believed that it were the priests that robbed those tombs having lost most of their property and finances during the reign of Ahknaten. And it were the priests who rewrapped and placed the bodies together in 1 location, I believe. That was considerate.
I can see why Seti felt the need to build. He was not a legitimate heir or Egyptian. He looks very Roman or Greek. Especially compared to his wife and others.
Excellent work.

he did indeed!

thanks Jeff!!!

This is definitely the most well put together documentary. Loved all aspects of this presentation Thank you. Well done and congratulations .
wow, thanks Mary!

Really appreciate the topics covered. Captivated just 2 minutes in!
Another beautiful documentary. Well done Curtis! Much appreciated. I would only suggest you check if the Hittites had really lost the battle against the Egyptian army. Oh, how devine, as though you sat for Salvator Mundi! And so great at this craft. Quite enjoyable, thank you!
The period of Siptah and Tawosret always fascinated me. Although I looked at genetic flow charts I could never figure out who was who and how they were related. Amunmessi was someone I never heard of till today. Gteat Video!

One of Tawosret's necklaces looks exactly like Queen Puabi of Ur's.
Great content and beautifully presented thank you for you're time and effort you put into making these great videos ❤ greetings from Australia

That was so interesting. I love looking at facial reconstructions. The Egyptian rulers seemed to have had rather long faces!
hahah well particularly that family
Wow!!! I subscribed again thank you.

Superb production, worthy of the magnificence of Egypt, history’s first nation state. First came Egypt, the mother of all nations, then came history.

This is a exceptional documentary. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing. Well done. M.S.
Tawosret's mummy can be examined to reveal what she died of. They have done examinations successfully on mummies before.

I really do believe Seti was one of the most beautiful men of ancient egypt. That facial structure. Beautiful.

So interesting think you for Amazon documentary
thanks Matthew!
BRAVO!!! WELL DONE⚰⚱🪔
quick question, is this your own footage? and the zoom in and camera work on these clips are cool is that an effect or is it recorded that way?
Thanks! And yes this is my footage which when I am not on screen, I shot 😄
Seti face structure is absolutely stunning
:D
Thank you, I really enjoyed this. Too bad more people don't take a moment to LIKE and comment.
Amazing egyptians were great artists great builders. Wish care would of been taken to carry on and preserved
Very Nice, clear done.
Love it.❤️ They sound like my family 😀🤣
Very good video. Good voice and perfect music choice, maybe only if not too much reading (can be a little boring if too much sorry) and more you talking naturally?. Thumbs up!
very very good
I have been watching these again and learn something new every time. I do have a question Curtis as you are an Egyptologist. Do you think the Osireion is contemporary with the temple of Seti !st ?...and what do you think its purpose was ?. Thank you.
i feel that it has sections from the old kingdom, but was resurrected by seti the first, who felt a strong connection to abydos
You speak so well. Everyone says tooten karmem. You say tut ankh amun. Appreciate your correct spelling.
It's not so much the amount to the line but WHERE you are in the line
Brilliant thankyou..
thanks Pam!

I taught Rameses in my art classes and took them to see his exhibit when it was traveling in the USA.
oh they must have loved it! :)
@@CurtisRyanWoodside they did, one year for multicultural fair we made my room into the inside of a tomb. With mummies and everything.
I can see why Seti felt the need to build. He was not a legitimate heir or Egyptian. He looks very Roman or Greek. Especially compared to his wife and others.
exactly !
Very beautiful family ❤❤❤😊
Interesting.. sad people think ramses was exodus when it is totally off the timeline.. moses was before ramses...
Indeed! Its because of movies that people think its Ramses, but scholars will tell you it was way before him - if it even happened.
