If the wind goes quiet, then the thermal is upon you. If it picks up then either it has passed you, or a new thermal is about to be upon you. So you hit the peak of lift and circle back towards you, then go back out into the direction of oncoming thermals to meet the next one, as they’re likely be coming your way to meet them. Also try mixing in negative flap for better penetration into wind and when it’s getting choppy. I also mix aileron as flaperon with elevator for tight turns. When the wind is up, you can pull tight turns with elevator coupled with flaperon.
thanks for your tips - already read about people using flaperons for dlg, but i only know it from slopegliding planes like in f3f - gonna try it. I have to learn a lot but that´s all part of the journey :)
first there were 1min flights, then some 2-5min and then came spring and I reached over 1 hour flight time... and then my neck hurt ;) you'll get there too. keep up
keep at it and thanks for sharing, My Mini Dart is on the bench ready for servo installation, it will be a new challenge as like your self I am a slope flyer.
Very nice thermal flight and authentic flying experience. Soon you'll need a better receiver, maybe one with a vario, so have audio feedback on climb performance.
Lets see - i will definitely think about it, but 3d-printable dlgs are a very hard challenge as there are some circumstances which simply don´t correspond to DLG-needs - i guess that is the challenge - Argon came out pretty well but I had to make the compromise to design it as a plank for weight management reasons.
ich bin den minidart noch nicht geflogen, aber ich glaube auslegungstechnisch ist der Hawk besser optimiert. Auch das Gewicht ist denke ich geringer. Interessanter aussehen tut definitiv der dart.

In that case as you mentioned you are a biginner, it is quite nice archievement!

absolutely, but i´m currently thinking about getting a whole new system in terms of tx - maybe spektrum or even a multiprotocol tx...
I think the word you wanted was thermal or updraft not “upwind”, but we all got the point so no worries. Love the channel
yeah exactly, updraft might be the right noun, as it was no thermal induced lift, but slopeinduced :)
you could design a 1m dlg to print ;)

@@3d-printz have a airfoil very hard to print and stay strong
Grüße dich. Was würdest du bevorzugen, Hawk 2 oder den mini dart 2. was ist der größte unterschied. Lg und danke für deine Hilfe

Ich versuche gerade irgendwoher ein zu bekommen. Überall ausverkauft
Are you German?
austrian to be exact :)
