Anybody who thinks piloting a passenger carrying jet is like being a bus driver should just watch the first8 minutes of this video. Great rapport and talent on full display . Bravo !
You have the first channel that actually teaches me what is going on in the plane. Guess you don’t need a key to start a jet.🤣🤣🤣. I really enjoy your vlogs. Blessings from Texas!
Outstanding video Owen! As a piston pilot I find the systems of a beast like this fascinating. Feel free to dive in to even more detail when able - you won’t lose me!
Hey~ I'm a pilot in San jose, and trying to move to VNY as home base recently. How nice to hear you're flying from San Jose to Van Nuys Airport! If I had known you were coming to San Jose, I would have gone to see you.
at 19:34 "are your feet off the floor" during approach.... what? Im a Gulfstream tech who's flown jump seat many times... what's he talking about? Autopilot was still on so you don't want your feet on the pedals or autopilot gets kicked off, what am I missing?
It’s amazing how this bird is 30 years old and still doin it’s thing. Just goes to show how advanced it was for its time when it was built. You can def tell it’s getting up there by the cockpit displays and instrumentation being a bit dated but nonetheless it still does just about everything a modern biz class jet of its kind can do which is really cool. I’m guessing the over haul it will need sooner than later will mean she will get scrapped and sold off for parts but very cool jet!
One question: why do you taxi with right engine above idle and left engine in reverse? (min 9:10) I could guess too much power and light plane, but then I would leave both engines in idle thrust… 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Great video, Owen! You keep making landings that smooth in the Gulfstream and Matt "Smoove Landing" Whatsisname is gonna start getting jealous ;) Oh, and ditto on the "Beaconing" response. Good stuff, man!
Hey owen! I know this is an old video haha but is there a reason why the throttle levers don't seem to be synced? Even on A/T The left engine always ran higher. Is that for a reason or just a design thing. Thanks
The copilot is wearing Rayban P lenses which are polarised - I thought there were issues seeing the displays and polarised lenses are not allowed by FAA?
I loved Gulfstream jet. But one question. Can a hearing impaired person drive the jet & how to go learn complete the classes ??? I'm curious love your channel
Yo! Audio engineer here. Can I make a suggestion? Love your channel, your audio is great too but each time you have ATC calls and you transmit there is a massive bass pop/spike. The way to fix that is go through and split those transmit audio clips onto another track, turn the pops down and use an equalizer/plug-in to get rid of all frequencies below 200hz. That will fix it. Great work!
Owen! So honored to have found your channel and watch all your videos. What an inspiration you are and what a story of a life of someone who had good direction and knew what he wanted to do with his life at an early age. I can’t wait to follow your future life experiences. So awesome you also fly with your brother who seems as grounded as you are. One question. You don’t fly with over ear headphones. Why and what are those you use? Very sweet gear! Cheers!
Hey, I was the 500th like! I'm here because of JR Aviation and JR Aviation wouldn't be where it is now without Owen! Jeffrey and Christian are just "along for the ride" with Owen. 😜
Please forgive a dumb question but what tower/control communications are you needing to cut audio for? Specifics on other aircraft, personal info, etc?
So right now im a student pilot, about halfway through. My dream is to become a private jet pilot, what age did you start working as a private jet pilot? Was it your first flying job? Thanks
I’m no cmel, but are the power levers supposed to be even or? In the video in cruise looks like the left engine is getting sig more thrust than the right but maybe I’m wrong
The coordination and natural flow between you two was incredible
Thank you!
As a student pilot, your videos are a major inspiration. Keep up the awesome content man!
Thanks! Will do!

You have the Best Job in the World.
I sure do!
You guys are good, real good.
One question: why do you taxi with right engine above idle and left engine in reverse? (min 9:10)
I could guess too much power and light plane, but then I would leave both engines in idle thrust… 🤔🤷🏻♂️
One power lever needs to be above idle for the ground spoilers to arm.
Great video, Owen! You keep making landings that smooth in the Gulfstream and Matt "Smoove Landing" Whatsisname is gonna start getting jealous ;) Oh, and ditto on the "Beaconing" response. Good stuff, man!
Thank you for watching!

They are just not recommended by the FAA there is no ban
Nothin but the best from the best 🔥

Another killer video ❤
Appreciate it man 🙌🏻

What plane did you train in. I'm in training in a Cisna 150. Only 5 hrs under my belt.
greasy landing.. love the video.
Thank you!
Please forgive a dumb question but what tower/control communications are you needing to cut audio for? Specifics on other aircraft, personal info, etc?
I think they cut out their own tail number in all comms. Probably for privacy because VIPs fly in this exact jet.
@@yaanimani2666 makes sense, thank you!
Great and informative video.
Thanks!
Owen what happened to the G III video?
Longer distance m??
Perfection
Great video I’m just curious on why are y’all blocking out the tail numbers with the ATC?
So right now im a student pilot, about halfway through. My dream is to become a private jet pilot, what age did you start working as a private jet pilot? Was it your first flying job? Thanks
I started flying gulfstreams at 21
