- Hi everyone, thanks for tuning in! So because I'm a crazy PML fan, I bought the new mattetrance lipsticks from Pat McGrath Labs in the Divine 9 kit. But girrrl, Christy looks DIVINE on you!! (not my color personally, buy WHOA on you!) Can I just call out the level of editing in your videos? So, so, sooo good. I love how you bring in other colors from your collection, especially the first batch of MatteTrances (cuz who else watches your vids except us Pat McGrath fangirls who already own a couple?!). It makes comparisons more spontaneous and less flat and very, very detailed. Nobody does PML swatches and comparisons like you!

We have similar taste in shades preferences.I brought Flesh 3 previously and just purchased Flesh 5 and Fever Dreams I love them all . I own about 12 Pat McGraft lip sticks in total. Looking at your swatches I wish I'd picked up the Colour Blitz trio when I had the chance. Great review! Thanks for comparing these to the older colors.
Nice one - you chose great shades! They're permanent I believe so they should be around for awhile if you ever get another chance to pick them up :-)

I am living for your bangs and that smokey eye look. Can you do tutorial on this eye look? I have a similar eye shape and smokey eye looks tend to look like a hot mess on my lid!

Melissa, what are you doing to me?!?! Lipsticks are my kryptonite!! I currently have 25 lip products in my collection and yes, most of them are berry colors. Most are from elf and the others are from Mented and Fashion Fair. Based on the swatches and applications, I've added Executive Realness, Guinevere, Deep Orchid, Beautiful Stranger, Flesh 5, Modern Woman and Vendetta to my list. I'm currently on a No-Buy until the end of the year. If I could only choose one shade to wear, it would be a red. I have three reds from elf cosmetics I love (Razzle Dazzle Red, Ruby Red and Rich Red) but I'm always on the hunt for a new red. To me Guinevere is a work appropriate red and Vendetta is a "come hither" red. I really liked Flesh 2, Guinevere, Beautiful Stranger and Vendetta on you.
I just bought Vendetta and I love it so far. It’s definitely a pretty powerful red, and it’s definitely going to become a regular for me
Hahah sorry for the temptation 😜 Good thing that these are permanent and there's no rush to buy. I also believe in future she may release more in minis so would be more economical! A good red lipstick is always great to have for a statement lip 😊

You're welcome, Melissa. I do agree with the photography aspects for extra aesthetics. I recently learned about a Sephora that sells Pat McGrath Lab and plan to get there soon to see the goods. Then she is releasing a new beauty to her line soon.
I wish our Sephoras carried her line!
Hopefully in the near future, there will be a Pat McGrath Lab counter available close to your home. :) Her counter is in a selected few Sephora stores here. I finally got to visit one of the counters today, and was marveling over the eyeshadow palettes. Subversive is my fave! The lipsticks are beautiful.

Modern Woman and Peep Show look like my style. I adore her shadows, I’m not a warm tone fan so much so I don’t own every palette. Every shadow formula is LEGIT gold standard on my hooded eyes. I own Lust Angeles and Beauty Junkie from her bullet lipstick line, the packaging is some of the best. I haven’t worn them enough to have a good feel for the formula. Her line is supreme, as high end goes in my book. I like the purple leaning shades on you, and reds.. gorgeous!
I'm glad to hear that they work for your hooded eyes! For me, they stay put only if I use a glitter glue otherwise they crease on me due to all my eyelid folds!! You need to use them :-P Lust Angeles is a great colour.

I love these lipsticks they don‘t transfer when you drink coffee in the morning and for a bullet lipstick it does stay long and you don‘t almost feel it on the lips. The color isn‘t patchy like other traditional lipstick it really packs full on the lips. Worth the price.

I loved your video. I have Pat McGrath lipsticks in Peep Show and Lust Angeles. I think Peep Show is too light for me too and I have fair skin. lol I would like to try Beautiful Stranger so might buy that one.

Some of these shades are gorgeous! I’m not sure how I would go with them being matte. My lips gets really dry so they may not work for me.

Modern Woman is a non sparkly version of my favourite lilac lipstick from Sugarpill: Kimchi (I hear they're discontinuing that shade much to my dismay and sadness), so now I feel like getting my greedy little mitts on it! I wonder if it'll look the same on my lips because the official swatches look way different. Hmm.. I even like Peep Show because it's perfect little dead girl lips, I want to try it~~ I'm drooling over these matte lipsticks!
Now that you mention it, it does remind me a little bit of Kimchi except maybe less pastel. It's definitely lighter than in the photos. I personally wish it was a bit deeper! You can have mine if you want!!

How does elson 2 compare with Lisa Eldridge velvet morning?
WOW ! You look gorgeous in every single shade ! Do you have neutral undertones ? I really appreciate the comparisons to other shades in the Pat McGrath line . Do you have The LuxeTrance Muse color ? Any suggestions on a MatteTrance shade that’s similar to Muse . I’m looking at Elson 2 and Obsessed. Seems like Obsessed would be too orange, but nobody has compared those 2 shades anywhere. Aww thank you - I think some of them are a bit light for me but that's okay. I have yellow/golden undertones to my skin. My sister, who's been on my channel a few times previously, has more neutral to cool undertones. Unfortunately I have only tried one shade from the luxetrance range and it was one of the nude/browns (labeija?). I think Temptalia has reviewed the range though and usually she provides lots of dupes!
Melissa Gold , You’re welcome ! You’re quite stunning ! Thanks for your reply . I wish I could pin point my undertones. Not many lipsticks suit me . I’ve ordered Fever Dream, Elson 2 , and Attitude. Hope at least one suits me 😂. How would you compare Obsessed with Elson 2 ? I was afraid Obsessed would be TOO orange. I’ve looked at Temptalia’s swatches a lot , but things look so different on her compared to me . I ordered Marc Jacobs Rei of Light after viewing her swatch of it . It looks so warm on her , but looks wine colored on me . I must have some sort of lipstick warping voodoo in my blood 😂😂😂. Fever Dream looks so incredibly amazing on you , as do all of the colors . I think sometimes lipsticks are a little difficult because on top of undertones to consider, lips also have their own pigmentation which can affect the colour. I would say Obsessed pulls more orange-red than Elson 2 which is more a vibrant red. If you're worried that it will pull too orange, I'd go with Elson 2! Good luck
Melissa Gold , Thanks for your reply. Yes . Lipstick has so many factors to consider. Wish I had stores in my area that carry more high end lipsticks that could be swatched . I have to order blindly to try many brands . I received Elson 2 and it’s much more pink than I’d expected, but still beautiful. Might try Obsessed as well . Finally found a video comparing Obsessed and Muse . SO similar. Elson is interesting on me . Looks like an even blend of pink , orange and red . Very unique. My lips have zero pigment. That’s why I’m hooked on lipstick. The MatteTrance formula stays on forever. Very nice 😊
I wish the shipping costs to Germany would not be so expensive. I mean the lipsticks are in general not really in my budget. All the shades look so good on you! I can't decide which one I like the most on you.
I looked up dupes for Flash 5 and it seems like I had 2 or 3 lipsticks already on my wishlist haha :D
Hey Aylin, not that I want to enable you but Pat's website changed the shipping costs and lowered them to 9-10 dollars and it is now possible to pay taxes and customs upfront (making them cheaper in my case than paying at the reception => Netherlands)

@@CeCeDot because the post service delivering makes you pay a fee because they advanced the money at the customs for you if you didn't pay them upfront!

Flesh 5 looks like my kind of nude too, but I just don't dare to buy this formula again...so bummed it doesn't work for me! Elson 2 looks a bit like the shade I bought, which is Obsessed...or am I really off?
Melissa, I would be interested in a comparison Obsessed, Elson2 too. Can you make a swatch comparison? Out of the 2, which one do you prefer? I think I only have Colourpop Clique as orange red in my collection
I'm so sad that it didn't work for you :-/ Obsessed looks more orange-red, Elson 2 more of a true bright red! I should've swatched it too because looking at them on the back of my hand they look super similar but the tones are different. I'll post a comparison on Instagram stories. Moments like this, I wish the community tab was open to me!
I prefer Elson 2 because it's more red than Obsessed which has an orange undertone to it. I'll post a comparison on Instagram ;-)

They last all work day for me even after eating. If I'm eating something super oily usually I'll touch up once but usually I can get away with no touching it up at all!

I can’t decide between Vendetta and Elson. My skin tone is beige with yellow undertone. Could you please recommend?
Both have cool undertones but Elson moreso so it depends if you want something very contrasting as Elson will really stand out on your lips and Vendetta will be just a bit more subtle. I personally prefer Elson because of that!
Gorgeous lipsticks... Flesh 5 and 3 are my kind of colours, along with Genevere (or however you write that) I saw that with shipping and duties one piece would be 53 euros😰. No Pat for me...😢.

Melissa Gold yes would be insane to do that! it might be worthwhile to order more at the same time... but Nars is easily accessible now here, a huge department store carries the brand, and the Audacious lipsticks are supposed to be very good as well. So I guess I will get one of those in November/December😊
Yes I can vouch for the audacious formula! Nice & creamy with good pigmentation.
Do you think Flesh 5 would be a good replacement for Make-Up Forever's Rouge Artist N9? N9 was my go to until it was discontinued! :(
Based on what I could see on google, the shade looks cooler and lighter to me than Flesh 5 so I'm not sure if it will be able to replace that shade. Temptalia should have dupes. Sorry to hear that!!

I would say Vendetta is more of a vibrant blue-based red whilst Elson is more subdued. I personally prefer Vendetta!

I have Peep Show and I wanted a darker version, that’s why I think Christy would be perfect. As for Mothership V... Yes I’ll buy it but I’ll wait till I’m in US again, to save some money. It’s just too expensive here in Europe, around 180USD. Too much for what it is. The six shades on the left are quite similar to Mthrsp Bronze Ambition, too many light golds and I have so many reds at this point... So I will be able to check some reviews before I buy it. But I’m sure I’ll do it at some point. 😘

Most of these are a bit more of a traditional lip colour than I prefer, especially for $50! I'm not a fan of most nudes (yellow-based nudes being the exception), pinks, berries, or reds which... is most lip colours! Modern Woman looks gorgeous though, although VERY different from the swatch! I wonder how it compares with some of Bite's lipsticks like Thistle or Cava? I wish they had Pat McGrath in stores, so I could swatch it!
My favourite is probably greigey purples. I love green! I like warm toned reds, browns, nudes, and especially burgundies. Purples that don't have a fuschia or strong blue undertone, cool toned browns that aren't muddy, teal... Most of my lipsticks are from Bite, Melt, KVD, or NYX.
It does! I feel like PML's marketing photos make the lipsticks seem darker and more saturated than how most of them appear in real life. I don't have either of those but Thistle & Cava look less purple but they would probably be very similar - Thistle mores! I also wish our Sephoras carried them here too!!
Also, I'm still waiting for some green and blue lipsticks from her haha.
Why can't pat mcgrath be cruelty-free? 😭😭😭 oh well saves me money and this was fun to watch.
Prior to you mentioning that last time, I did some research as I thought they were cruelty free. Some blogs mentioned that she does test if required by law but testing is only required in China if the product is sold in store. According to Pat's website, there are no Sephora locations in China that stock her brand? Please correct me if this is untrue!
@@melissagold2559 Oh sorry if I mentioned that before. Don't mean to be repeating myself. I would imagine if that were the case that they weren't testing their products on animals they would be able to just say they were cruelty-free? And they wouldn't be saying they test on animals where required by law? They must be doing it somewhere I imagine or else why the disclaimer? It seems odd they would say that if it didn't apply to them. Unless it's preemptive because they hoped to be stocked there soon.
Yes I feel like maybe they're saying that because they intend to sell in China but don't yet, or it's just legally they are saying that to cover their bases in case their supplies test etc and they haven't verified.
A friend of mine contacted the customer service a few months ago about their CR statu and they clearly said they were not planning to go to China as it would force them to test on animals. I assume they use this specific formula on their website because they actually don't have any CR certification?

Nah deep orchid looks far different from executive realness. Deep orchid is a rich purple/ dirty rose berry shade whilst executive realness is far too pink in comparison. Deep orchid is far more unique too. I thought christy was a lovely nude on you without looking like concealer.
I gave both of those to my mum and she likes those shades and berries/pinks don't look super flattering on me. Haha thank you - I ended up giving Christy to my sister which looks a lot better on her complexion.
All the colors look different on you
