From your comparison I do feel like the sunrise palette might be better for people with deeper skin tone. Also having the glam & biba palette I have enough browns and I was missing a good warm tone palette.

Thank you for this review very useful. You are right they are not cheap, plus not too good for asian skin tones. I much prefer Korean brands which really makes the feature pops.

I really like seeing these videos! I’ve always appreciated your aesthetic tastes and I also like the revisiting old makeup and looking at it with new (less “hypnotised”) eyes.

I never got into ND, I'm just not a luxury makeup person and her color stories aren't for me. I think pulling out some shades to use as singles or creating your own frankenpalette could be a good option, some of these shades look really nice on you. Also, I think eyeshadows should still perform well today, even if they were purchased in 2017. I have plenty of shadows that are this old and still work wonderfully.

Thrilled that you’re still enjoying the Menagerie Violet Ink 💜 even if purples aren’t your favorites for eye looks. I hate to say it 😂 but the Violet looks were my favorite that you tried in this one! I find violets with brown eyes is such a pretty combo. I actually chuckled because of all the ND palettes, original star (apparently they reformulated it in 2020 or something) and tropic are the two lowest performing with problematic shades. I actually was the opposite. I liked ND more as time went on. Partially cuz they’re magnetic, I started building my own palettes with their shades whenever a palette came out that I really wanted. It gave me a chance to play with that color story and see if I really liked it or I was wow’s by the hype and packaging. As far as aging goes, my observations are the shades that never worked gets worst and the shades that did, even years later, are still pretty good. I do think ND is overly expensive and over hyped. She doesn’t put in enough deepening shades. And not very single formula performs. But I’ve also found that palettes I didn’t love before, I’ve come back to and find them beautiful again. (probably cuz I was deep in colorful clown territory and now have a new appreciation for neutrals) But I ended up liking a majority of it more than my Pat McGrath ones. For me, pat never put enough mattes in and there’s rarely ever a decent transition shade. Though you can blend her mattes out I still like more range than a diffused shade. And I like but don’t love her specialty shades. I wear contacts and have a bunch of eye issues and that dry crumbly formula gets problematic. And as of late she leans into way too many pinks and golds.

I think the performance might be off because they are older shadows. Some brands, their shadows go ‘off’ I find. If you like some of the shades you could always depot them? What is your makeup collection like now?

Thank you for this video. I have never purchased a Natasha palette because she was very rude to me on Instagram way back in the day. She attacked a negative review from The Fancy Face and I simply told her that Tina is very thorough and honest in her reviews and she pounced. I put her on a Natasha DeNoNo list that day. However, her new palette "My Dreams" has been calling my name. It's "only" a $69 palette but thank you for reminding me that I don't need it.

I only bought one ND, my beloved Sunset palette. I kept waiting for her to release another palette (preferably a midi) with a color story that really spoke to me but it never happened? And now I’m feeling autumnal so Sunset and Dark Mattes along with Safari Raine and Juicy Olive will be ‘front and center’ 🍁

I have slowed down my makeup consumption because I'm bored of spending money and I don't want to reorganise my makeup every 3 months to fit everything in. I only buy stuff that adds something new to my collection. I've just been appreciating pretty things from afar. I only own 1 ND pallet and it's mini love. If I want to get more from her, I'll just stick to the mini pallets because I don't want to overspend on something massive that won't get used up. I'd rather have a smaller, cheaper pallet so I don't feel like I'm wasting money.

Great video! It reminds me how much I used to spend on makeup, my God! I have so many palettes sitting in my makeup drawers, it’s crazy to think of the price paid for them. I think at some point I should declutter them since I find more and more suffocating to have all that stuff that I don’t use staring at me every day. Edit: I have no problem with the quality of ND makeup but I’m not using heavy eye makeup nowadays. I just keep clean on the eyes and wear a bright lip. I don’t even think that my taste will change because I’m getting older and I think that the strong eye makeup style is behind me.

I love watching people go through and re review their older makeup- I still use and love my ND palettes!! But I have a few more of the newer ones. Lila is my oldest.

Natasha redid the whole bottom row of tropic and released it as a mini because the formula was lacking so much. The new mini is great though 💙

I enjoyed it because I enjoy you. But also I liked the makeup and I’ve been trying to have fun with pops of color on my eyes in small ways, like orange in the inner corner bringing it up a bit and inward slightly.
