To me NFS Hot Pursuit is the best. Instant action, pure arcade racing, you need to learn the roads, be great at driving to get the gold, progress through the levels and unlock new races and cars. Straight to the point, pure adrenaline, no boring storylines no one cares about. I just want to race. Now at 60fps it's silky smooth and it makes a big difference at high speed. Other than the higher resolution, I can hardly see any graphics improvement but that doesn't matter, higher frame rate does.
Yes! I know exactly what you mean. I grew up in the 90s so I miss the old school gameplay when things were much more simple but more enjoyable such as NFS High Stakes, there was no nonsense, just the cars and tracks, amazing soundtrack, and even the announcer providing details of the car in the showroom. It was straight to the point, great cars, great tracks, and the gameplay was addictive. I still listen to the soundtrack of the classic NFS games to this day, it's my childhood.
I've just compared PS3 and Xbox Series X versions again. Man, it looks like there's no antialiaising at all on the PS3, whereas Xbox looks super sharp. Car handling is much improved thanks to the low input latency of the 60fps, especially noticeable at high speed when quick controls are needed. Overall a vastly improved experience. 15 minutes into the game and I've already beaten my old PS3 records in the first missions. This is how much car handling has improved
People who say hot pursuit is better than heat clearly haven’t played heat, cause it’s much better than hot pursuit in every way. Expect the fact that you can be a cop in hot pursuit but that’s it
If you grew up when the Hot Pursuit 2010 came out, you'd change your mind. Heat is has nothing on Hot Pursuit, which is a nod to the original NFS formula and the Original Hot Pursuit games from NFS III Hot Pursuit in 1998
Heat isn't NFS, it's just a poor man's Forza Horizon. Hot Pursuit actually forced you to think, learn the road and strategize. It's a shame that racing games are all about grinding now
Bruh, you really need to recheck yourself.......NFS Heat, is actually compared with Forza Horizon 4. And the comments and all actually praised NFS Heat . Only reason why NFS Hot Pursuit is bein' compared to Heat, cause it's been Re-released. If it wasn't for a Re-release, we wouldn't be talkin' bout' NFS Hot Pursuit currently. And in 2010 when NFS Hot Pursuit was first released it was criticized also.
Hot Pursuit 2010: Pure skill based racing, no bs, no soap opera just great cars and great tracks. Everything you want from a racing game. Heat: Let's give them a generic open world where anyone can grind & progress. Let's try to be Fast Five while we're at it!
I miss the old days when there was no soap opera and the games were made with passion. NFS High Stakes is my favourite on the PS1. Even the way it was presented with the announcer providing details of the cars, it was presented in a way that was for car enthusiasts and not all this soap opera juvenile stuff they put in these days. I was only a kid back then but it’s because of games like High Stakes and Gran Turismo that I grew up loving cars.

You press Y/Triangle when your on a cop thing, don't press it to get to a race, just press Y/Triangle when hovering over it
It also works for a racer.
