Marv getting electrocuted and turning into a skeleton never gets old, still one of the funniest scenes ever and If I ever get two turtledoves I would give one to you Jen.
I cried laughing in the theater and actually peed my pants a little! Hilarious!! And embarrassing since I was active duty military and I was there with my squad lol
An absurd skeleton gag is tough to pull off even once, but John Hughes uses the same gag in Trains Planes And Automobiles and it lands fantastically there too.
34:21 This is amazing acting on Catherine O'Hara's part. You can just hear the pain and anguish in her voice...then a sense of relief when she realizes she knows where Kevin is.
That's just room service. The price for those rooms is at the very least around $1,600/night and I've seen it going up to about $32,000/night which is completely INSANE!!!
I remember watching a video that had surgeons assessing the physical damage and fatalities that the traps would have inflicted on Harry and Marv in both of the movies. According to the video, each of them would have died twice from the traps in Home Alone 1, while Harry would have died 6 times and Marv would have died 11 times from the traps in Home Alone 2!
There's also the Christmas episode of Letterkenny. Where the coach said he uses Home Alone to show the tenacity and drive the thieves have. It's a motivational film. LOL
The "What a hole!" line gets a similar reaction out of me whenever I rewatch this movie, Daniel Stern's delivery is perfect. That was well put too at the end, there are not many movies that can get away with a man being electrocuted into a skeleton. Excellent reaction as always Jen!
The scene where the pigeon lady threw the birdseed on Marv and Harry was already funny. It's even funnier knowing that a couple of years prior to this movie, the actress who played the pigeon lady, Brenda Fricker, was the one who presented Joe Pesci with his Oscar that he won for his performance in "Goodfellas". I think it's safe to say he enjoyed receiving the Oscar from her just a little better than he did with the birdseed.😁
I've never ran across someone who has a great appreciation of Musical scores like you Jen, rather It's a movie or a series! You show such great enjoyment on all fronts.
I got a talkboy for Christmas back in the 90s when I was a kid. It was the coolest thing ever. My friend and I played with that thing for hours. Good times.
Tim is the main villain in the Disney Three Musketeers movie. He is awesome as Cardinal Richelieu, Kiefer Sutherland as Athos, Charlie Sheen as Armias, Oliver Platt as my favorite Musketeer Porthos, and Chris O’Donnell as the new Musketeer D’Artignan. I love the movie. The BBC Three Musketeers series is very good. It has Peter Capaldi as Cardinal Richelieu which is great casting. I liked the series very much.
I remember having one of those talkboy's as a kid. Battery life wasn't great and I was never as resourceful as Kevin was with his. Love that they still kept the Christmas feel with this movie, great reaction as always Jen!
Fun Fact: The Talkboy was created as a prop for this film, then made and distributed by Tiger Electronics at the request of John Hughes and the allowance of 20th Century Fox.
i remember, my Sony Walkman had the same feature as the Talkboy. like adjusting the playback and recording speed. it had a built in microphone, but you could also plus in an external one.
I love this movie. It takes pretty much everything from the first movie and takes it up a notch. I was pretty much the same age as Kevin back when it came out, so I loved it extra much to see a kid be so smart around adults.
11:39-11:43 You quoted the 1st movie where he give Snakes to the count of 10 but after you quoted it, the video cuts to Kevin saying "make it 3". In the sequel, Johnny gives that woman to the count of 3 instead. Perfect editing.
Tim Curry, Brenda Fricker, the return of Harry n Marv, Kevin humiliating them *again*, and Jen's festive sweater: fun stuff! Edit: Jen conducting the orchestra is priceless.
A little fact about John Williams. Music runs in his family as his son Joseph also got into the music business as a lead singer in the rock band Toto. You can hear his vocals in songs like Pamela, Stop Loving You, Til The End and Straight for the Heart. Yes Catherine O'Hara was in Beetlejuice.
In case You never knew, here are a few Fun-Facts about "Home Alone 2."✌ (1) Kevin's younger cousin ("Fuller") was played by Macaulay's real-life little brother, Kieran Culkan. (2) Kevin's "Talkboy Tape-Recorder" was Mass-Marketed and Sold IRL to help Promote this Movie. (3) Mister Duncan (@15:30) was played by Eddie Bracken, and You've previously seen Him as the Owner of Walley World in "National Lampoon's Vacation!"
Considering how big of a star Kieran Culkin's become in recent years with Scott Pilgrim and Succession, it always blows my mind to think how he started off his acting career in these films as Kevin's bed-wetting cousin
I'm 42 now and I still have my Talkboy Deluxe recorder like he used in the movie. 😂 It was such a cool thing they ended up having to sell them. And it did all the cool stuff likemin the movie. Sped up, slowed down, had the extendable mic and carry handle. That was a cool Christmas present.
I'd like to think that someday in the far future, Kevin would use that turtledove ornament to tell his kids about the Pigeon Lady and the importance of good deeds and remembering people.
Another great reaction, Jen. I think I needed to see you react to this tonight. Just remembering a few people that aren't here in a physical form. Thanks. Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year.
One of the greatest Christmas movies ever made and one of the best sequels ever made. Growing up in the 90s, I had this one and the first one on VHS and would watch them every year around the holidays. The skeleton gag was and still is my favorite part of the movie, it's way over the top but extremely hilarious! It's awesome Macaulay Culkin is finally on the walk of fame, he deserves it 110% and it was also nice to see Catherine O'Hara there as well to support him!
Another fab reaction. Love that you appreciate John Williams' and his music. Did you appreciate his conducting in the concert hall scene? Yep, that was the man himself. Saw him conduct at The Barbican in London many moons ago. It was amazing!
Kevin setting the traps for the crooks is like a live action Tom and Jerry. Thats why we all love these films. Its just silly and fun while we get in the mood for Christmas.
If Kevin's parents were smart, for next Christmas they would either A) not go anywhere and stay home with him. Or B) handcuff him to one of the adults so he doesn't get separated.

Great movie. The actress who plays Kevin Mon was in Beetlejuice. You should also watch Its A Wonderful Life the ultimate Christmas movie. The part were Marv get Electrocuted to be skeleton always cracks me up :)

The "Talkboy" was VERY popular with kids my age after the release of this one, and coincidentally was also when I started prank calling people😂 Yet another amazing movie from my childhood
"Merry Christmas ya filthy animal "😀🎄so many amusing lines this movie and some moment you can almost feel their pain like the bricks to the face for example lol .brilliant reaction as always Jen boy did you make me laugh 🎉 merry Christmas 🎄
@@JohnDillinger12Zimmer is one of the all time greats, and I'm hoping Jen reacts to "Conan the Barbarian" as Basil Poledouris score to that movie is amazing, and one of my all time favorites.
"WOW! WHAT A HOLE!" Critics tried dumping on this, calling it too cartoonish, but I don't care! I like it! Macaulay was/is a brilliant actor! His performance in The Nutcracker was good but The Good Son was memorable! Tim Curry doing his Grinch impersonation was iconic! The last scene where Marv got whacked and a pigeon flew off, I thought for years that he coughed it up!
Jen one more thing - it's one thing to watch this at home, which is totally awesome....but to see this in the theater with an audience, where everyone is SCREAMING because they're LAUGHING so hard at each of Kevin's assaults on Harry and Marv = priceless.
7:28 much as I love this movie I always get an emotional twinge at this point - that's the Observation Deck of the South Tower of the original World Trade Centre. I know the WTC shows up in other movies from the 90s but it's weird to see it actually used instead of just in the background.
In the original movie, Catherine O’Hara’s character went from Chicago, to Paris, to Dallas, to…what the heck came next? (Scranton) How did they manage to find a direct flight from Miami to New York? For 13 people I might add.
I wanted to see a Home Alone movie where Kevin falls in love with Marley’s granddaughter. It seems like they were setting it up to eventually happen. There was some fan fiction about it. The latest trailer for a Home Alone movie has Culkin finally returning to the franchise as a adult going against the Wet Bandits again, Buzz is a cop, Kevin is telling his mother what happened when he was left alone the first time, and looks like he has some help from someone against the bandits. I am happy McCauley will finally return to the franchise. That is what all the Home Alone movies that came after this movie lacked. They were just trying to recreate the magic of the first movie with a different child each time. They failed every time because it wasn’t Kevin. So I am hoping this new movie, with will be better even if the Marley Granddaughter isn’t in the movie. I will wait and see what happens.
You mentioned the John Williams score. I got the soundtrack CD for this the Christmas it came out as a kid and at that time soundtracks were still just licensed songs to me. This was the first movie score that got me to appreciate how important and fantastic movie scores can be. Also fun fact the singer that sings “All Alone for Christmas” in the NYC montage plays Danny Glover’s wife in the Lethal Weapon movies!
The scene where Harry burns on the top of his head, he actually got burned for real. So the face, where he looking forward - towards the camera; that is real pain! :)
6:46 - Ally Sheedy cameo! (WarGames / The Breakfast Club / St. Elmo's Fire / Blue City / Short Circuit / Only the Lonely / High Art; I met both her and Ringwald in Providence, RI last month) 15:29 - The late Eddie Bracken, as Duncan (appeared as Roy Walley in National Lampoon's Vacation, Five Spot Charlie in Oscar, Bob Carson in Rookie of the Year, the Old Timer in Baby's Day Out - amongst many)!
I've even managed to visit John Heard's* (Peter, the dad) grave in Ipswich. *Also appeared in Cat People / C.H.U.D. / Big / Radio Flyer / The Client (TV series).
Hi, Jen! Sorry, late to the party. I must have taken the wrong plane. KEVIN! The skeleton gag is great, but it's even better with your joyous laugh sprinkled on top. I love Catherine O'Hara, I used to laugh myself silly to her on SCTV. I hope that show is taught in Canadian schools. ;-) Merry Christmas and see ya Saturday for Next Jen! Oh, yeah, Office Space, too!
I remember when I was 5 yrs. old, I'm 76 now, our whole family went out to Hollywood Park (S. Ca. horse track). There were my parents, my sister, & our grandparents. From the parking lot there was a large concrete area leading to the entrances to the track. I was walking along holding my Mother's hand. I remember letting go to do something & reaching back up to grab my Mother's hand again. She stopped suddenly & I looked up. It wasn't my Mother! I don't remember who spotted who first, me or my Mother. I do remember not letting go again.
I wonder why they haven't made a new movie with Macauley, only with him as the parent. Makes all the sense in the world to me. The big challenge would be getting a kid who can live up to Macauley. Few child actors have that kind of charisma and comedic timing.
To me, this is a more sadistic home alone 1. But love tim curry! Catherine O'Hara was indeed in Beetlejuice. She played the stepmother. She was also the voice of Sally in my favorite movie of all time Nightmare Before Christmas. Also Macauley Culkin is doing well now, he got a star on Hollywood walk of fame, and he's married to Brenda Song, formerly London fron Suite Life of Zach and Cody and Suite Life on Deck. They have two sons.
Fun fact-Culkin and the other actors from the first film didn't want to do this sequel,at all. But,the film studio REALLY wanted a sequel ( very badly )LOL. So,we got Home Alone 2,after no-2 Culkin didn't want to do any more HA films.I believe there're 3 more HA movies after this one. Starring other child actors.
Yes, Catherine O'Hara was in Beetlejuice. She has also been in a couple of mockumentary movies by Christopher Guest, she voiced Sally in Nightmare Before Christmas and she started out in a Canadian sketch show called SCTV with John Candy =) Hopefully you have a better singing voice than Uncle Frank, Jen ;P XD ;) Merry Christmas =)
For me Home Alone 1-2 and Die Hard 1-2 are perfect back to back Christmas movies!!! The sequels are not better than the original, but it entertaining enough to enjoy them.
I always forget how good Daniel Stern, (Marv) is at comedic acting! He stole this movie, and deservedly so. The skeleton part was good, but my favorite is his screams during it. Perfect!
Another reason to boycott Disney. They can't even a clasic to stand on its own without ruining it. This is the age that Disney was just sneeking in evil messages like male parts for towers under the sea in little mermaid or hidden in clouds. If they got the rights to 1st bedtime for bonzo they would cut Reagan out or the same when he played 1st gentleman to a woman President. The DNC is going to make sure the first Elected Woman President will still have a First Lady instead of a husband.
You don't think maybe she just cut that part? She's Canadian and, like most people, doesn't worship him. Also, Disney didn't cut that part. You guys are weird for making that up. Even if they did, it's a 2 second cameo, who cares?. Weirdo dorks.
I'm a bit of a Grinch when it comes to Christmas, and would never watch this movie on my own, but that doesn't stop this from being a very fun reaction, Jen!
Hi Jen, it was great to see you reacting to & enjoying this film. I hope you have a lovely time over the holiday`s, Merry Xmas to you, your family & your other commentators & viewers. :)
I lived and grew up in Gurnee Illinois which is 45 minutes from the Home Alone house. They used the house interior in the school gymnasium because the house was small to film in. In 2005-2006 I worked on the tv show Prison Break. John Heard the father of the film had a person drive him in Joliet Prison in a golf cart. I seen John and my mouth dropped. I met John and he was such a kind person. I have a dvd and some day scripts I found and saved. The movie Lets go to Prison was filmed there too. Will Arnett, Chi McBride and many other actors in that film too
I got the talkboy recorder for my birthday the year it was released. Used it a lot and was so much fun. Still have it somewhere amongst my childhood stuff
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) is one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies! Also when I watch this film it makes me want to watch Aladdin (1992) because the second Home Alone film and Aladdin were released in the same year and month, but they were released a few days from each other.
You’re such an upbeat girl … and very beautiful too. Your awesome Christmas mood is contagious - THANK YOU! … and yes - John Williams is indeed out of this world … Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Greetings and salutations from Romania …

Thank you Eric! I always appreciate your kind comments and support. I agree my Patrons have been awesome at choosing great movies and I'm really excited for all the great movies in 2024! Happy Holidays :)
Merry Christmas Ian! 🎄
I really enjoy your thoughts on the scores of movies, Jen. A great soundtrack can make a good movie an amazing one! 👍💯🎄⛄
Not related to this movie, Hanz Zimmer is the GOAT composer imo.
@@JohnDillinger12Zimmer is one of the all time greats, and I'm hoping Jen reacts to "Conan the Barbarian" as Basil Poledouris score to that movie is amazing, and one of my all time favorites.
And a Jen reaction can make an amazing movie a spectacular one 🙂
"WOW! WHAT A HOLE!"
Critics tried dumping on this, calling it too cartoonish, but I don't care! I like it!
Macaulay was/is a brilliant actor! His performance in The Nutcracker was good but The Good Son was memorable!
Tim Curry doing his Grinch impersonation was iconic!
The last scene where Marv got whacked and a pigeon flew off, I thought for years that he coughed it up!
0:49 I agree John "The Maestro" William is THE best composer/conductor.
That lady from the front desk, also played in the Adams family movie, as the woman that ended up with cousin it.
Jen one more thing - it's one thing to watch this at home, which is totally awesome....but to see this in the theater with an audience, where everyone is SCREAMING because they're LAUGHING so hard at each of Kevin's assaults on Harry and Marv = priceless.
Holy shit when Marv gets electrocuted, it kills me every time, when they show the skeleton 😂😂😂 and when he gets hit with the bricks 😂
7:28 much as I love this movie I always get an emotional twinge at this point - that's the Observation Deck of the South Tower of the original World Trade Centre. I know the WTC shows up in other movies from the 90s but it's weird to see it actually used instead of just in the background.
My all-time favorite Christmas movie! Thank you for reacting to this beloved holiday classic, Jen!
27:16 me too
First-time viewer here, and as a Bb and Bass clarinetist, I just LOVE being heard 😂❤
Awesome, go woodwinds!!
In the original movie, Catherine O’Hara’s character went from Chicago, to Paris, to Dallas, to…what the heck came next? (Scranton)
How did they manage to find a direct flight from Miami to New York? For 13 people I might add.
Fun review as always! It's amazing how the filmmakers struck lightning twice. Still a classic!
Mr Duncan Played by the late actor Eddie Bracken was also Mr Roy Wally, owner of Wally World in National Lampoons vacation.
Joe: Okay, kid. Give it to me.
Macaulay: You asked for it. 26:49-26:59-27:06-27:16
2:05, Jen looked like part of the choir for a second.
The scene where Harry burns on the top of his head, he actually got burned for real. So the face, where he looking forward - towards the camera; that is real pain! :)
A classic! Thank you Jen!
15:44 Mr. Duncan is donating to Maya Kowalski 😂
5:40 omg!! that's Pulp fiction's Bonnie!! 🤣
I love both this and the first equally, the first one is funnier, but this one has more heart, I think, Jen. I was waiting for your reaction to it. 🙂
Me too
The toy store was a real store: it was the famed (and sadly, now defunct) F.A.O. Schwartz, and was so magnificent, it was used in several films.
I see you’ve reacted to Home Alone 2. Home Alone is always one of my favorite Christmas movies growing up. It never ceases to crack me up.
6:46 - Ally Sheedy cameo! (WarGames / The Breakfast Club / St. Elmo's Fire / Blue City / Short Circuit / Only the Lonely / High Art; I met both her and Ringwald in Providence, RI last month)
15:29 - The late Eddie Bracken, as Duncan (appeared as Roy Walley in National Lampoon's Vacation, Five Spot Charlie in Oscar, Bob Carson in Rookie of the Year, the Old Timer in Baby's Day Out - amongst many)!
Both Home Alone movies were always my favorite for Christmas since my 90's childhood!😉🤣
Macauley Culkin got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week.
I wonder why they haven't made a new movie with Macauley, only with him as the parent. Makes all the sense in the world to me. The big challenge would be getting a kid who can live up to Macauley. Few child actors have that kind of charisma and comedic timing.
One of the new movies established that Kevin grew up to own a home security company. And Buzz is a cop
That would have been a better movie that Home Alone 3 or Home Alone 4.
@@j.woodbury412The third movie could’ve at least been Harry and/or Marv dealing with a different kid, just so there’d be some continuity.
@@RandomNonsense1985 True. Maybe it could have been Fuller. Or maybe Kevin's son.
5:30 I always nerd out over language translations! So cool! 👏
Great reaction as always Jen. Keep up the great work and I'll keep watching! Happy New Years.
Thanks jen merry Christmas
@@kerry-j4m4 more movies, actually.
Mr. Duncan (actor Eddie Bracken) is also Roy Walley from National Lampoon's Vacation.
Yes, Catherine O'Hara was in Beetlejuice. She has also been in a couple of mockumentary movies by Christopher Guest, she voiced Sally in Nightmare Before Christmas and she started out in a Canadian sketch show called SCTV with John Candy =)
Hopefully you have a better singing voice than Uncle Frank, Jen ;P XD ;) Merry Christmas =)
For me Home Alone 1-2 and Die Hard 1-2 are perfect back to back Christmas movies!!! The sequels are not better than the original, but it entertaining enough to enjoy them.
@@Renegade2786for real?
I always forget how good Daniel Stern, (Marv) is at comedic acting! He stole this movie, and deservedly so. The skeleton part was good, but my favorite is his screams during it. Perfect!
Actually, this is the cut version that was released last year, where Disney Plus removed the Donald Trump cameo from the final cut.
I was looking for him,Another BS move by Disney!
Oh, wow, really?! Ridiculous! That’s why you get physical copies.
Best move Disney can make. @@Indiana_Jones-Z
Great reaction Jen, Merry Christmas 🎅
6:45 Enter the lovely and talented Ally Sheedy...famous for "The Breakfast Club", "St. Elmo's Fire" and "Short Circuit". :)
😂😂 The BEST wheezing Laugh on RUclips 😂😂
You are such a joy to watch.
Happy New Year 🎆
Best to You and Yours 💋
Hi Jen hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤. Home Alone 2 is awesome
Thanks John you too! Loved this one :)
08:47 Piers Morgan cameo 😂😂😂
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) is one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies! Also when I watch this film it makes me want to watch Aladdin (1992) because the second Home Alone film and Aladdin were released in the same year and month, but they were released a few days from each other.
Marv getting hit in the head by all FOUR bricks gets me in stitches everytime!
You’re such an upbeat girl … and very beautiful too.
Your awesome Christmas mood is contagious - THANK YOU!
… and yes - John Williams is indeed out of this world …
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Greetings and salutations from Romania …
Marv is such a fun character. Daniel Stern is great. I especially enjoyed him in a movie called Born in East LA. Such an under rated movie.
The brick throwing scene is like a kid with cancer. It never gets old
"please blow torch joe peccis head again." 😂!! Funniest thing ive ever heard you say! 😂
Great reaction! I think the second one is even better than the first. I love your detailed reactions to the music!
