Movie Summary:
After snarky youth Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) loses track of his father at the airport, he mistakenly gets on a plane headed for New York City -- while the rest of the McCallisters fly to Florida. Now alone in the Big Apple, Kevin cons his way into a room at the Plaza Hotel and begins his usual antics. But when Kevin discovers that the Sticky Bandits (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) are on the loose, he struggles to stop them from robbing an elderly man's toy store just before Christmas.

To answer your question the black and white movie Kevin is watching is a real movie. Actually its 2 movies. In the first Home Alone, it's "Angels With Filthy Souls." In Home Alone 2, it's the sequel. "Angels With Filthier Souls." I've not seen either aside from what's in Home Alone movies but have always wanted to.
He is the greatest actor in the whole world 😂👌
The woman who played Kevin's mom, one thing she didn't like doing was the way she had to treat Kevin in both movies. She said she's a loving mom and really didn't like doing that to Kevin cause he such a innocent child movie or not.

Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern (the Wet Bandits) are both still alive and making movies. Tim Curry is still alive, but wheelchair-bound since suffering a stroke.
oh i'm actually relieved Tim Curry doesn't have cancer or something. I saw he had the wheelchair and nose tubes but he was still able to talk to an audience
Joe Pesci (Harry) and Daniel Stern (Marv) are still alive. Pesci announced his retirement from acting in 1999 to pursue a musical career but returned to acting in 2006. His most recent role was in the 2023 movie "Day of the Fight", which is in post-production. Daniel Stern is an artist, specializing in bronze sculpture.
Pesci is also staring in the main role of a new TV series Bupkis also 2023 to present according to his discography
Stern's actually been starring in For All Mankind season 4 as the current director of NASA
Tim Curry is also alive. He had a major stroke in 2012 and now uses a wheelchair. He has switched to voice acting.

Yes this was Trump's hotel. He let them film the movie there for free as long as they let him appear in the movie. So they gave him a cameo.
They also added the red carpeting for the cameras and trump loved it so much he bought all the carpeting and had it permanently installed.

Also if your ever visiting the hotel & want to go to the lobby. Don't follow the directions given in this movie, because the man giving Kevin directions to the 'Lobby', clearly, doesn't know where the lobby is located. He's sending the poor kid in the wrong direction.

The small kid in the glasses that plays Kevin's cousin is actually his little brother.
so kevins dad and the brother who was staying in paris in the first movie are super rich, plus i think his mom is a designer too but his uncle frank is not, thats why he always mooching off his brother lol
Daniel Stern said when they filmed the scene where his character Marv and Joe Pesci's character Harry were attacked by the pigeons, one of the pigeons actually flew in his mouth. He also said it tasted horrible.

No contest. Kevin would surely beat Hallie and Annie 😂. Their pranks were for the most part pretty harmless. Kevin's are borderline homicidal! Not even borderline 100% homicidal! The brinks alone are enough for him to be a true psychopath! 😂

The woman at the counter in the NYC airport is Ally Sheedy from The Breakfast Club (the plain, quiet girl who undergoes a transformation) Home Alone 1 & 2 were both directed by Christopher Columbus who also directed The Breakfast Club and Harry Potter 1 & 2.

This movie is an all time classic. As much as i love the brick throwing scene, theres no way Marv should've survived that lmao 😂

@15:20 Notice how they included a snippet into how Kevin's character has grown since his lonely Christmas. In the first movie we were introduced to Kevin as the youngest kid in his immediate nuclear family and the kid in the family that has everything done for him. He isn't viewed as responsible by the rest of his family. This movie on his attempt to be responsible (reload the batteries), he gets on the wrong flight and it's the fact that he has his OWN $ he earned (not pilfering Buzz's money) that prompts him to give the money to charity. They want us to know that Kevin has grown a lot and it wasn't just because of his Christmas alone - it's because his parents realized he was responsible and could be trusted to be a valued member of the family. 🎉

They do be packing greens in that family, but that particular Xmas night stay was a courtesy of the house.. the insane bill was for Kevin's room service the night before lol

10:50 The Plaza Hotel does, still, have a Christmas room rental special. They call it something like The Kevin McAllister Special. You get the same type of room (if not the exact room?), A limo tour of the city and a hot cheese pizza! It's not cheap, but it's definitely awesome!
@6:36 Now that I'm older I appreciate the subtle ways they tried to foreshadow or give a nod to the events of Kevin's previous Christmas. A great example is the writers could've have set Kevin's character next to literally anybody from anywhere in the world on that plane but who did they pick? A French person!😂 I feel like that was on purpose since that was where Kevin was SUPPOSED to be the previous Christmas.🎉
Daniel Stern is the tall "thief". He's always funny. Two movies he's great in is Bushwhacked and Celtic Pride. Celtic Pride also stars Dan Aykroyd and Damon Wayans. So funny.
The lady who payed his mother just introduced him for the Hollywood walk of fame and the other lil boy with the glasses is his real brother and the only person I know who passed who the guy who play his father

You guys probably won't watch it but.....Home Alone 3 is definitely underrated to me. Definitely not like the first 2 of course cause obviously Macaulay Culkin isn't in it but, lol I loved that one too. You guys should check that one out.

Daniel Stern (who played Marv) is still alive and he was in some great movies even before Home Alone...he was in this great film about three brothers called Coupe de Ville who drove across America to deliver a car to their father...and he was the oldest brother. Joe Pesci (who played Harry) is also still alive.
even if the credit card belongs to his father it would be reported as stolen because his dad notified the credit card company that it was "stolen"

It is funny unless Kevin punches someone or does something bad everyone notices him. But when he's gone, gone, they all are blind. How are you picking up your bags and yet you didn't see him on flight or getting off the flight. My family checked all of us kids off the plane before even going for picking up the baggage.

They made the movie for the movie. So, for the this movie they made filmed a "sequal" to the original movie playing in Home Alone 1.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) is one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies! Also when I watch this film it makes me want to watch Aladdin (1992) because the second Home Alone film and Aladdin were released in the same year and month, but they were released a few days from each other.
Detroit pizza is the best!
Also, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland is the largest Christmas store in the world. It's a couple hours drive north of Detroit in Frankenmuth, MI. It's HUGE!

In NY, the hotel gave the family a suite at no charge, they didn't have to pay for that. & (Old man voice) 30 Years ago... As the 1st 48 hours are critical in an emergency situation involving a mother/lost child. For sure, Mom would be on the next flight, no charge. The family? No Money, No Credit Cards, it's house'm or *send'm. (*Get'm out of my hair always wins.)

It's not a real movie both of them in the first and second were made for the movies home alone 1 and 2.
Damn talkboy tape recorder, wanted one so bad after this movie hounded my dad to no end (it was actually expensive) he caved and i got it for Christmas thing broke right after the return date expired. He noticed i wasn't walking around with it glued to my hand shortly after... "Oh wheres your fancy tape recorder? I doubt the bike you wanted before that would be broke already..."

I've been to Rochester. Twice, in January. So I only know it all snowy. But yea sooo far from NYC. A 7 hour train trip from R to NYC ended up being like 11 hours due to a power line that fell on the track iirc, by Yonkers.
I live in the boroughs, Manhattan sucks at Christmas. The tourists make it a nightmare.

The Angel's with Filthy Souls series of movies were made foe the 1st two Home Alone Movies. They did use the first Angles with Filthy Souls movie in the Detective Pikachu movie.

Trump had the red carpet so Kevin could slide into the elevator and he kept it off since the movie.
Actually it's the other way around. They needed the carpet for the sound crew cause the marble floors were too loud. Trump loved the carpeting so much he bought all of it and had it permanently installed.

Most of the cast is still around, but obviously much older now. Some have retired from acting. The dad (John Heard) is one who has since passed away though.
The mom (Catherine O'Hara) you can actually find on the show Schitt's Creek. She plays the mom on there too. Also fun fact - the pigeon lady is actually an Oscar-winning actress named Brenda Fricker. She's won countless awards and been in tons of movies and on Broadway. But to this day, most people know her as 'the pigeon lady' from Home Alone lol.
She also played the foster mom in Angels in the Outfield, I never recognized her lol.
