I have such a soft spot for Home Alone 2. It may repeat some things from the original, but I love the NYC setting, the traps are absolutely brutal, and Tim Curry is a national treasure. I watch it along with the first one every Christmas season.
I forget who said it, but somebody said that the second one is better because the stakes are higher. Kevin isn't defending his own house this time, he doesn't have neighbors or anything to back him up just in case, like he does back in Chicago, and New York City has a "gritty" vibe to it anyway. Plus, Harry and Marv already know what he looks like. Also, fairly or not, I argue he gets *himself* lost this time rather than his parents, by being so obsessed with the batteries for his Talkboy. So, he has much more to lose in the second one.
Where when and how would I get to do this, never have been in America for more 6hrs but would love to do it man, I went for a day shopping trip once and that's it, was part way back home in the same day only got bras and jewelry to man.
It's funny now, but as a little kid, it scared the shit out of me. I was laughing along, then suddenly that darn skeleton appeared screaming and so was I.
@@JenniLeigh81 That scene scared the crap outta me too as a kid, I always insisted on watching the movie but when it came time for Marv to get fried I'd either run away or cry if I couldn't get away in time lol

Crazy amount for room service, especially in the 90s, but it seems odd that the dad would get that mad about it since he seems to be insanely wealthy with the house they have and paying for vacations for so many people etc.
This movie might not be as talked about as the original, but to me, they'll always be equally great. Although I do love how creative the traps get this time around.
Can we talk about how Tim Curry is probably one of the best thing in this movie ! He just eat all the scenes with his presence and he is so Tim Curry...that smile when he find the card his stolen is just priceless ! Such a great actor and voice actor !!
Fun fact: A channel did do a kill count for every *Home Alone* movie and yeah, the second movie has the most kills, and Marv and Harry are definitely immortal.
I think the biggest reason why newer viewers are so shocked at the absurd violence and lack of injuries is mostly just because slap stick is basically dead now a days. Growing up watching slapstick comedies like the 3 stooges and looney toones really helps with that lol
I hate that people keep calling Kevin a psychopath, yes, his traps are extremely violent and dangerous, but come on, he’s protecting himself, and saving Christmas for the children at the hospital, and take into consideration that Harry and Marv have no problem with killing anyone that gets in their way
In case you're unaware, the Pigeon Lady is played by Irish actress Brenda Fricker, who won the Academy Award a couple years prior to this movie for playing Daniel Day-Lewis' mother in "My Left Foot". As is tradition at the Academy, she presented her future "Home Alone 2" co-star Joe Pesci with his Oscar the following year for "Goodfellas", where he famously just said, "It's my privilege, thank you" and walked offstage.

Honestly, a lot of us who watched these films with both child and adult eyes agree with Clariss. Kate and Peter leaving Kevin at home in the first film should’ve been enough for child services to be involved, but for them to lose him in an airport the next year??? Although I gotta admit HA2 was more on Kevin like Clariss said… bruh could’ve waited until he got on the plane to change the batteries on the Talkboy.
@@WillPutYouInYourPlace12386honestly, Kate and Peter are both to blame. It’s clear they’re hella neglectful to those children, especially Kevin. And they’re kinda gullible, because ain’t no way Buzz should’ve gotten away with as much as he did.
@@tmc31390I wouldn’t say “gullible” about Buzz. Some parents just have that favourite and it’s crazy cuz Buzz is the oldest and they’re mostly always given the shit
Kevin's dad had no right to get mad at Kevin for the money he spent on room service. He literally lost his kid for the 2nd Christmas in a row. He should be grateful he's not in jail for child negligence.
It's funny to see both movies with my parents as both are physicians. And it's funny to hear both of them talking in their "medical language" about their diagnostics and possible complications if the guys got to live. My dad killed me once when he said "I definitely would love to be there when the necropsy is made, it will be such an interesting case!"
I feel like these crazy slapstick moments, especially the bandits getting wrecked in the house, should just be thought of as live action cartoons. They'll go through death defying slapstick and just walk it off - just like cartoons such as Tom and Jerry. Iconic films and great reactions! Thank you guys for sharing!
This movie is one of those rare sequels that is definitely better than the first film! I just found it more comedic, the traps were more enjoyable to watch and Tim Curry being featured was a brilliant addition! That scene where Kevin tricks him and the rest of the hotel staff with the crime film will forever be the best scene in the entire movie for me. Curry's comedic timing is top notch!!
Funny reaction. Home Alone 1 and 2 always cracked me up. Kevin is very clever when it comes to plan, Harry and Marv always get hurt, which made it funny, the hotel staff and when the mom screaming out Kevin ☠️☠️☠️🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely love Home Alone 2 and it has such a good plot, but the highlights are definitely the traps as I think they are even funnier than the first one in my opinion! Awesome rewatch Timothee!
Fun fact: This was filmed in Chicago, they did film in NYC (WTC, Central Park, Bridges, etc) but the toy store was actually a permanently closed bank in downtown Chicago that they turned into a toy store for the movie and later took the props down,
If I remember correctly, the song during Kevin's montage scene in New York, "All Alone on Christmas," is an original song created for the film. It was written by Steven Van Zandt, a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, and sung by Darlene Love, giving her a slight comeback to mainstream radio success.
Some of the scenes were filmed in Chicago. The Plaza Hotel doesn't actually have a pool, so the pool scene in the hotel was filmed at a location in Chicago that had a pool.
the actor who played Mr. E.F Duncan the proprietor of Duncan's toy chest, was Eddie Bracken the Hollywood comedy legend who is known for his lead performances in films like Hail The Conquering Hero and The Miracle of Morgan's Creek both comedy classics from 1944, Bracken appeared in later movies like National Lampoon's Vacation (1984) Oscar (1991) Home Alone 2 (1992) Rookie of the Year (1993) and Baby's Day Out (1994)
Interesting fact about the Trump cameo: he only shows up because at the time, he owned the Plaza, and he has a stipulation that if someone is going to film on his properties, he has to make a cameo. Typically when filmmakers agree to this, they usually film the cameo and conveniently come up with a reason to take it out. This time they legitimately forgot.
Sadly the family never learns from their mistakes in the last movie, most disappointing of all the mother, you'd think she would take her youngest son's side for once.
There’s a video from Screen Junkies called Honest Action, where they list all the injuries Harry and Marv would have suffered as well as how many times they would have died. The brick part is hysterical.
You know I kinda like the premise of this movie a little bit better than the first, being able to go somewhere besides the house for the majority of the movie Is actually great Btw Christopher Columbus seems to be the guy who works in twos with Harry Potter and Home Alone
the third home alone definitely isn't the best but i love it so much, it's the first one i saw and it IS really fun there's more of a reason the bad guys are there, and the kid is alone for a reason too
After being arrested again Marv and Harry got into an argument and blamed each other for their failings then Marv tells Harry that he’s not his partner anymore because he’s sick of him, bossing him around, and that his plans got them in prison twice and decides to permanently abandons him until he meets Vera
"Somewhere In My Memory" is such a terrific music choice, but I always felt that the Christmas morning hotel scene was its absolute best in terms of timing.
home alone 3 is actually my favorite, i know you said no sequels but i think you guys would love 3. the parenting is actually competent despite the circumstances but the drama and funnies are great!! edit: and they don't pretend its kevin with the actor change, which other sequels do. 3 is a good one, rest not so much.
9 Harry's and 14 Marvs and required to finish Home Alone 1 and 2. This movie alone, each brick to the head is a kill shot, The bag of wrenches to the head, The Toilet Explosion, the Electrocution, the bag of cement, Marv's 2 story fall on his face, the pipe to the face, being crushed by that pipe, the 3 story fall at the end, and getting hit by the varnish cans after that fall. All death moments
Kevin's mother: It's Christmas Eve, and because of you, our child is lost in one of the biggest cities in the world. I didn't think it was possible to genuinely hate someone in a 90s Christmas special before I heard that line.
I think it’s crazy how much y’all sexist losers blame the mom and only the mom. Sad that our society has made it so mothers are to be blamed and not the father.
My favourite scene is when Harry was hit by four bricks, I was laughing and laughing that my stomach was hurting, Kevin can put on pranks that you couldn't even imagine. Thanks I enjoyed the movie, see you
Kevin is being a kid. Kids don't always think. I remember being little and stopping to pick up a rubber band off the street. Bus closed the doors on me, and I almost got left.
There is a movie in theaters right now called violent night. It's labeled as "die hard meets home alone" (it's because they make a bunch of home alone references plus there is a small segment where she is being pursued by bad guys and she sets some pretty gory traps for them
Home alone 2 lost in New York was to e funnies movies, one of the best moments Is at the airport scene where everyone says Kevin’s not here and passes it to everyone, so she laughs and says, Kevin, then she faded that was one of funniest scene I react. Thank you for posting this Tim.
When my oldest was just a little girl, she was watching this movie, and she'd gotten to the age where everything and everyone had to have a name. I was talking to my sister and DD kept asking me what the pigeon lady's name was. Of course, she's never named, but this wasn't an acceptable answer to her. Finally, I got mildly exasperated and snapped, "Bird Poo Annie!!" DD found this hilarious (and didn't seem to realize I just made it up), and from then on that's what she called PL!
I love how, with the big bag of flour, Marv somehow had enough time to say, "Uh-oh," and yet not enough time to step out of the way! They really are living cartoon characters! Kevin's not a sadist. He's a human version of Bugs Bunny!
Home alone 2 is better than the first for me it’s what every sequel should be it’s basically the same movie but x10 and I love it. My favorite scene is when that lady knocks out Marv & Harry she has crazy strength it cracks me up and the little nod she gives to Kevin afterward is the cherry on top
I'm sure you know this by now, but Kevin's brother, Fuller, is played by Macaulay Culkin's actual brother. Anyway, this was a terrific sequel. The third film is unrelated because it feels like an unnecessary reboot. 4 and 5 are the continuation of Kevin's story. The new film, despite Buzz making a cameo as a cop, also has nothing to do with the first two installments.
Great reaction as always! I love this movie, it’s just as good as the first one! I don’t know how often they’d have died, but the number is high. There are videos of doctors counting the deaths and injuries of these two movies though. As an aside there’s also a fan theory that Kevin grows up to be Jigsaw and makes even more sadistic traps.
If that dude walked in on me in the shower in a high end hotel like that? I'd guarantee I'd have my own personal penthouse in that hotel for life. Plus unlimited room service at a minimum.
17:39 Yep, because of Kevin, they were brutally beaten and arrested. They're so out for blood at this point, lol. "There should be a kill count" Funny that she mentioned it, Honest Trailers has something called Honest Action, you'll find your Home Alone 1&2 Kill Count there . . . :3
There are actually several Home Alone reactions done by doctors on RUclips. They go over what the actual damage would cause, and which traps would be fatal.
This movie is a perfect example of an amazing sequel. One time I was watching this movie and my mother walked into the room just as Marv was being electrocuted and she asked me what horror movie I was watching! 😂
"Gotta kind of love Marv" There was going to be a spinoff film about Marv actually a becoming an unlikely hero, but it was rewritten as an original story but still has Daniel Stern in the lead it's called "Bushwhacked" (1994) it would be fun to Tim and Clariss react to that 🤣
I will always love the screaming skeleton, I literally live each day just to see it! You should edit your jurassic park 2 scream scene to look like the screaming skeleton, I would laugh so hard at that! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I preferred the second movie over the first one growing up tbh. Also side note, I had such a huge crush on Catherine O’Hara in this movie. She was so gorgeous! 🖤
The toy store in the movie, the entrance was actually filmed in Chicago (where the home is located in real life) the other scenes if I’m correct were actually filmed in New York
Fun fact: When they were filming the pigeon scene with Marv and Harry the actor who played Marv actually had a pigeon in his mouth when they filming the scene
On RUclips Doctors diagnosed the injuries of Home Alone 1 and 2. Those will answer all of your questions about their survivability if it had logic and physics. Short summary answer basically they should call themselves the immortal Bandits.
28:48 I mean, in his reality, if they haven't died yet death doesn't exist. Plus as an 8 year old not knowing much about paralyzation and what will kill you makes sense
Coming from a pretty big family, who grew up around this time when the film was made, and being Irish, it’s honestly a normality for the youngest, to kind of be raising them selves😂 I think that’s kind of part of the joke that they keep forgetting him. By the time the parents get to the sixth one they’re over it. Haha
This is definitely my favorite one I can watch this one anytime of the year it always make a me laugh thank you two for your time with us great reaction
Love this movie. It’s way better than the first one. The toy store owner and the bird lady are top notch. So sweet. I cried when Kevin gave the bird lady one of his two turtle doves is the best thing ever. And when Kevin reunited with his mom at the Christmas tree. Funny af and emotional af. Incredible well done and I love to reaction. I can’t wait to see more of your reactions. Keep on being amazing.
Home Alone 2: The Birth of Jigsaw... Man this is so fun. I always loved first one but some of the traps in this one, are so over the top that I can't help but love those. Daniel Stren. What a comedian. He always make me laugh in these films. Those screams...
I wonder if kevin screamed when he saw harry and marv because he was genuinely surprised to see them or because he knew he was in public and wanted to make a scene and alert the bystanders
Fan theory, Kevin is the jigsaw killer all grown up. There is a video on that. Also I love the skeleton marv too! They did such a good job matching it up to him. Especially the beard.
This second Home Alone has always made me laugh so hard!🤣 Anyway you two should also check out the 3rd movie, even though it's a different boy it's still a funny one😉
Hey, did you notice this movie mistake? In the original "Home Alone", Kevin is 8 years old. "Lost in New York" takes place one year after the previous film's events, but somehow Kevin is 10. It's mathematically impossible for Kevin to jump from 8 years old to 10 years old in only one year, even if his birthday falls around Christmas time.

37:54 Kevin gets Caught
16:03 That's exactly it!!! He's a gifted kid, KID he's extremely smart for a nine year old but hes still 9
I'm so glad you guys did this one together! This is hands down my favorite Christmas movie of all time.
Marv's screams in both movies are hilarious 😂😂
There's still a theory that Kevin grew up to become Jigsaw.
If we took the movies literally, Marv would have broken his neck on the icy stairs & Harry on the icy steps in the first movie lol
Marv was the first "Yo I'm dead"
I also didn't realize that when Harry slipped off the goo ladder and landed it made the GTA 5 wasted sound 😂
Nothing beats the original but this film was still bloody hilarious!!!! 😂
but this beats the original though
@@adamblackedition5529 I agree! This also feels more Christmassy than the first one!
Yeah this pips it imo. And the fact you could buy the Talkboy in real life. This movie is the kid's dream, never gets boring.
The first 2 home alone movies are so good and funny! I love these re reactions. Keep up the great work Tim
Joe: Okay, kid. Give it to me.
Macaulay: You asked for it. 28:30-28:44-28:49-29:03
"There should be a kill count" Funny that she mentioned it, Honest Trailers has something called Honest Action, you'll find your Home Alone 1&2 Kill Count there . . . :3
But it is more then revenge
There are actually several Home Alone reactions done by doctors on RUclips. They go over what the actual damage would cause, and which traps would be fatal.
31:58 🕺🏻 32:05 😂 33:23 blowtorch 36:11 🧰 38:44-38:55 that’s a lot of pigeons. 41:58 Kevin! You spent $967 on room service!?
This movie is a perfect example of an amazing sequel.
One time I was watching this movie and my mother walked into the room just as Marv was being electrocuted and she asked me what horror movie I was watching! 😂
"Gotta kind of love Marv" There was going to be a spinoff film about Marv actually a becoming an unlikely hero, but it was rewritten as an original story but still has Daniel Stern in the lead it's called "Bushwhacked" (1994) it would be fun to Tim and Clariss react to that 🤣
I love seeing her reactions with the traps it's hilarious I love your vids 😂.
This film was released a few days before the release of Aladdin (1992).
On RUclips Doctors diagnosed the injuries of Home Alone 1 and 2. Those will answer all of your questions about their survivability if it had logic and physics. Short summary answer basically they should call themselves the immortal Bandits.
17:50 it's New York. Also remember, this was the early 90s, which was a bad time in New York.
I love your videos man. Also Clariss I love your style girl. Love love love.❤ you both make my day.
Can we all agree that lady that punched the sticky bandits is a real MVP?
Love this movie. It’s way better than the first one. The toy store owner and the bird lady are top notch. So sweet. I cried when Kevin gave the bird lady one of his two turtle doves is the best thing ever. And when Kevin reunited with his mom at the Christmas tree. Funny af and emotional af. Incredible well done and I love to reaction. I can’t wait to see more of your reactions. Keep on being amazing.
Yes! We got yo to rewatch the second one. Now time for the third movie, which is my favorite. You'll just love the little toy car in this.
Home Alone 2: The Birth of Jigsaw... Man this is so fun. I always loved first one but some of the traps in this one, are so over the top that I can't help but love those. Daniel Stren. What a comedian. He always make me laugh in these films. Those screams...
Yes now we watching home alone 2 lost in New York!
Ngl when People say Kevin is a psychopath in the squeal I always say Harry has a gun so for Kevin it’s kill or be killed😂
Recently watched : Violent Night
It has some Home Alone elements in it, but rated R
I wonder if kevin screamed when he saw harry and marv because he was genuinely surprised to see them or because he knew he was in public and wanted to make a scene and alert the bystanders
Both
Saw this right after a very busy day. Very happy
I’m just now realizing Tim Curry would’ve been an amazing Grinch
Home Alone 2 is so good, I forgot that Tim Currry was in this movie.
0:03 I was about to mention this but you’ve featured it already. PEAK CINEMA.
out of all the home alone movies this is my favorite
The Part when Kevin Touched the Ladys but then she Punched the Two Guys Instead was Funny 😂
