With this does the monitor input come off the same as you would just directly connecting the HDMI straight from the console to the monitor? I play on my Xbox at 120fps and know the recording will get bumped to 60 but want to see if the actual monitor resolution and frames will stay 120
It should pass through the signal without processing and only downscale the capture. I haven’t noticed any latency which would indicate processing on the output.

use a chat link cable whether its the elgato one or something else but you specifically want to make sure its a ground loop isolator cause if you dont it will have a loud buzz

Are you on Mac or Windows? If on Windows, do you see it in the device manager? On Mac do you see it under the system report?

@ItsMeJulious I have one that looks like a chat link, but think It's something else. That wouldn't come with a headphones I'm sure
