A week ago I found 2 helpless kitten in the drain someone left them. Now I just got the kitten from the vet one couldn't make it and the other one is blind in her right eye. It's been 2 days but the kitten is professing well and now she is purring calmly on my lap while I'm typing this. Wish me luck.

Yes..I had a cat that went blind and deaf at 12 years old.(kidney and pancreas problems). He lived for another 6 years(special controlled diet..indoor cat, of course) and seemed to get around the house just fine and still played with things(and me!) like he always had done :).

I'd say she was maybe...3-4 days old, her eyes were still closed, we fed her with my grandmas's cow homemade milk, we used some eye drop medication tiny bottle (we cleaned it ofc), we put a rubber on the top to create a tiny baby milk bottle and she drank it like a human baby, it was adorable We tread to use warm tissues soaked in water to open her eyes in a natural way but it didn't really work because it's not the same and our other grown cat didn't want to accept her as her baby to clean it She grew up healthy, except her eyes were deformed and big and she was really tiny, but the smartest cat i've ever had. When id be sick and calling for mom shed be the one to come in my bed and lick my face so i feel better Unfortunately she died 5 years later because her pregnancy failed, she had blood poisoning, when we took her to the vet it was already too late We have 1 kitten of her that is still alive, he's about 5 years old now When she was about to die mom told her "at least wait for me to get back from work" and she did. Mom came home, kissed her and the cat let out her last breath. We dug a hole under the prettiest tree in our backyard and buried her there. We also planted daisies on top of her grave because it's the flower she was obsessed with in the summer. She'd always go into them and sleep all day. Her name was Tiger, as in the fighter, strong etc. :)

I think that Mr. Peepers story is my favorite. I have a soft spot for orange and white kitties. My cat Mr. Moe was an orange and white guy. He found me, then we were inseparable. He helped me recover from losing my mom. He gave me a reason to get out of bed every day. I had him for 6 or 7 years. With the help of my vet I was able to care for him up until the day he told me that he was tired and ready to go and wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge. BTW...I appreciate your humor Matt! We found a kitten on the road a couple days ago with a really bad eye that was popped out. At 5 weeks old we weren't sure she would survive the surgery, but this afternoon we get to bring her home, our one eyed pirate cat! Keep up the work Matt!

I felt so bad for that kitten. It just looked so small, skinny, and weak, not to mention the eyes. I'm so glad to see that he was able to survive, and even happier to see him running, jumping, and playing. Flea medicine is a preventative measure so it doesn't happen in the first place. If your cat gets fleas they can jump off and start breeding in your home so just cleaning the animal will only solve part of the problem.

Thanks for fixing him up!! I adopted a blind deformed little cat from an animal shelter where no one wanted her. She coped so well with navigating the house including stairs and she was the most affectionate cat I’ve ever had 😻my other cats were patient with her and groomed her often. Hope he finds a good home 💕

The kitten knows no different :) He is happy and healthy and is a crazy coo coo kitty, just the way he's meant to be.
Luckily cats have amazing hearing, also him being a kitten means he isn't accustomed to seeing yet, making it easier for the lil guy to adapt to it.

We found a kitten on the road a couple days ago with a really bad eye that was popped out. At 5 weeks old we weren't sure she would survive the surgery, but this afternoon we get to bring her home, our one eyed pirate cat! Keep up the work Matt!

I felt so bad for that kitten. It just looked so small, skinny, and weak, not to mention the eyes. I'm so glad to see that he was able to survive, and even happier to see him running, jumping, and playing. It's been said before that animals don't know they have a disability, and that kitten proves it. He's just living his life, having a grand ol' time!
Stuff like this is one of the biggest reasons I am studying to be a vet.

Flea medicine is a preventative measure so it doesn't happen in the first place. If your cat gets fleas they can jump off and start breeding in your home so just cleaning the animal will only solve part of the problem.

It's almost as if his other senses compensated for his eyes! Toward the end where he was playing with the cat and the bait thingy, it was as if he could see. He could somehow tell where the cat and the bait were going!!!

and cats also have whiskers all over their body, not just on their face. They have them behind their paws which essentially works as eyes for them.

I adopted a blind deformed little cat from an animal shelter where no one wanted her. She coped so well with navigating the house including stairs and she was the most affectionate cat I’ve ever had 😻my other cats were patient with her and groomed her often. Hope he finds a good home 💕
