I was a vet tech for a long time. Let me tell you... when you get a dog like this, who is just READY to die, and you start working on him... The first time you go into his cage and you get that first little tail wag, (3:50) when he has no earthly reason to to be wagging his tail. When he shows you that you have given him with more kindness love and compassion then he has known in a long time... It doesn't matter if this first one of these cases, or the 50th... it is one of those moments in your life that you KNOW you've made a difference. There is no "glory" no applause, no likes, and most often there is nobody else there to share that moment between you and the dog, but it is one of those moments that you will most cherish in your life.
You could see in Jack's eyes, that he was ready to die.. But Matt, you made him believe in people again. He was only a fighter because you believed in him, and he definitely is showing you gratitude. Thank you so much Matt for what you do, not just for Jack, but for all the animals you take care of.

When you encounter a dog like this, how do you recommend feeding? I once rescued an old bloodhound that was nothing but skin and bones. I found him wandering in traffic in freezing sleet and rain. I don't know how he kept from getting hit. He was shaking uncontrollably when I brought him home. He ate, then laid on a soft bed I made for him. I covered him to hold the heat in and he slept nearly 24 hours He was so still and not moving at all. I feared he was dying. I kept checking to see if he was still breathing. He was so hungry that I started him on some good dry food and fried eggs and whole milk for over a week. I thought that eggs would be a quick and easy to digest protein. My old boy gained 14 lbs in little over a month. and was beautiful, looking like a show dog! He eventually died a happy, goofy dog. I wish he were still with me. I'll always remember taking him to the park where he would chase the squirrels into the trees. I still love you, Jimmy. Thank you for loving me old boy!

He really perked up when I cooked him fried eggs in butter!

I really like how some countries like France have made animal cruelty charges much more serious, so if you harm an animal it's the legal equivalent of harming a human. We need more laws like that in this world to help prevent cruelty like this.
I'm French and here where I live (close to Paris) everyone here is against animal cruelty, I think that more than half of the city would kill just so their animal could feel safe.

I had a black lab named Blue and we bought him from this cowboy..after we bought him we realized how sick he was and he had a disease called Parvo after we spent so much money on curing him we couldn’t afford to take care of him sadly but we gave him to an amazing home and we still get pictures

Dude you have no idea how much I respect you. I have 2 decades of PTSD as a first responder, firefighter, Emt, hazmat tech, and security in Reno NV. Plus military service. I can't think of any better calling than what you do. I subscribe to your gun channel too. I'm facing some medical challenges myself with neurological impairment but you may have given me hope to at least be useful helping animals and would like to be an animal EMT. Although humans and ànimals differ greatly the basic survival remains identical. You might have saved my faith. Treatment is usually the same in my experience. Thank you for giving me hope
I love seeing the transformation of dogs with mange. They go from looking and feeling awful to beautiful body and spirit. It's neat seeing what they really look like and what their true personality is. Not that I would ever wish mange on a dog, don't get me wrong. It's so sad. It just makes me happy to see them get the help they need.
I really agree with what he said at the end! I adopted a cat who was severely ill, it caught my eye from how bad it's condition was, I ended up adopting it before being put down. Sadly 7 years later, after numerous surgeries in attempts to save him from cancer I had to put it down, but we both had years full of great memories and unconditional love. Now I'm sitting here with my 3 legged cat watching this video! Animals who look/are different than the usual need love too (:
Thank you! It was always my family's tradition to adopt pets in the worse conditions and extremely grateful that we usually can afford any sorts of medical needs, sounds weird I know, but it really changes you in a great way once you health them back!

This should be a TV show. They have all these shows on cable about restoring broken down old cars but you guys actually restore a life which is far more beautiful. And the smile I get from seeing that pup play around after being on deaths doorstep is way bigger than even seeing a show about a restored 66 Vette Sting Ray.

I had a guy who abused his dog once tell me he did so because it made him have a sense of power. He was extremely insecure and he actually gave me his dog. I wanted to punch this guy as he was telling me this but it wouldn't have helped. I'm just glad that he doesn't own any pets anymore. Jazz, the dog, is a pitbull and I've had him for nearly four years now. Occasionally around men who wear hats and boots, if in the house, Jazz will respond aggressively at first, barking and growling then retreating and shaking for a bit. It's striking to me that after 4 years in a good home he still maintains the fear that he faced when he was a puppy.

@@jackhwthorne Outside of the animal abuse, at the time, he seemed relatively normal. He had a wife and kids. His kids were around 10 and 6 at the time. According to him, his wife nkew about his aggression but his kids didn't and that was part of the reason he had to get rid of the dog (something about his kids finding out and growing up with that aggressive attitude) aside from that his wife and him were going through a rough patch which attributed to his abuse of Jazz. Today l, as far as I can tell, he still lives with his wife and his kids are doing great. I haven't actually had a conversation with him in about 2 years. I don't think he has any animals now.

I had a black lab named Blue and we bought him from this cowboy..after we bought him we realized how sick he was and he had a disease called Parvo after we spent so much money on curing him we couldn’t afford to take care of him sadly but we gave him to an amazing home and we still get pictures
You shouldve gave him gatorade...every day...my dog had parvo and we did that and on the 2nd day he was much better!

Dude you have no idea how much I respect you. I have 2 decades of PTSD as a first responder, firefighter, Emt, hazmat tech, and security in Reno NV. Plus military service. I can't think of any better calling than what you do. I subscribe to your gun channel too. I'm facing some medical challenges myself with neurological impairment but you may have given me hope to at least be useful helping animals and would like to be an animal EMT. Although humans and ànimals differ greatly the basic survival remains identical. You might have saved my faith. Treatment is usually the same in my experience. Thank you for giving me hope

I love seeing the transformation of dogs with mange. They go from looking and feeling awful to beautiful body and spirit. It's neat seeing what they really look like and what their true personality is.
Not that I would ever wish mange on a dog, don't get me wrong. It's so sad. It just makes me happy to see them get the help they need.
I really agree with what he said at the end! I adopted a cat who was severely ill, it caught my eye from how bad it's condition was, I ended up adopting it before being put down. Sadly 7 years later, after numerous surgeries in attempts to save him from cancer I had to put it down, but we both had years full of great memories and unconditional love. Now I'm sitting here with my 3 legged cat watching this video! Animals who look/are different than the usual need love too (:

Thank you! It was always my family's tradition to adopt pets in the worse conditions and extremely grateful that we usually can afford any sorts of medical needs, sounds weird I know, but it really changes you in a great way once you health them back!

I cry when I see the dog or cat at first than at the end of the videos I cry even more because of the transformation. Since I was little I have wanted to be a vet but this channel makes me want to be a vet so much more. This should be a TV show. They have all these shows on cable about restoring broken down old cars but you guys actually restore a life which is far more beautiful. And the smile I get from seeing that pup play around after being on deaths doorstep is way bigger than even seeing a show about a restored 66 Vette Sting Ray.

It’s crazy how in demolition ranch you shoot many many guns and have many guns but you save animals. This shows that people may like things that are crazy but are very kind hearted. Like soldiers save animals and are very nice.

Good on you mate for everything you do for our furry friends.. I applaud you! I've never understood how anyone could abuse an animal. I believe that if the penalties for animal abuse were a tad more harsh we'd see a little less of it...
I had a guy who abused his dog once tell me he did so because it made him have a sense of power. He was extremely insecure and he actually gave me his dog. I wanted to punch this guy as he was telling me this but it wouldn't have helped. I'm just glad that he doesn't own any pets anymore. Jazz, the dog, is a pitbull and I've had him for nearly four years now. Occasionally around men who wear hats and boots, if in the house, Jazz will respond aggressively at first, barking and growling then retreating and shaking for a bit. It's striking to me that after 4 years in a good home he still maintains the fear that he faced when he was a puppy.

@@jackhwthorne Outside of the animal abuse, at the time, he seemed relatively normal. He had a wife and kids. His kids were around 10 and 6 at the time. According to him, his wife nkew about his aggression but his kids didn't and that was part of the reason he had to get rid of the dog (something about his kids finding out and growing up with that aggressive attitude) aside from that his wife and him were going through a rough patch which attributed to his abuse of Jazz. Today l, as far as I can tell, he still lives with his wife and his kids are doing great. I haven't actually had a conversation with him in about 2 years. I don't think he has any animals now.
Maybe they abuse animals because they got abused and can't bring themself to abuse other people
