Congratulations in getting a story in the Times and a mention on BBC Radio 4. I'm looking forward to seeing your storm video on the 35 clay pipe hoard.
nicola white mudlark - Tideline Art Can you give us an idea where it is on the broadcast, please🙏🏻 I would love to hear that. I listened a while last night, though it was interesting I was in a hurry to get to your part❣️
My 9 year old son loves watching your videos and want to go mudlarking bless him. Loves watching you find the pipes. Sometimes find him on his tablet quiet as a mouse and hear your voice and know he is in his element. Well done on your finds Nicola
Was holding my breath as you just kept slowly pulling out the clay pipe with the looooooooong stem! Can't get enough of your videos. Love your history research and positive happy outlook on life. If I am blue, sad in these dark winter times you always cheer me up! Thank you
The crab is home and so are you!! I missed the Thames River! OHHHHHHHHHH AND ALSO my daughter, son and myself where watching a PBS Masterpiece called Sanditon and in one part they are in a pub/tavern and a man was smoking a long clay pipe and my 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son started yelling “it’s a clay pipe, it’s a clay pipe” it just about made my day!!! 😊
You know you're doing things right when your viewers feel disappointed that your video has come to an end. Thank you for the peaceful entertainment Nicola. It's just lovely.
Another wonderful video 💕💖. Thank you for making these, I am completely addicted to watching you now. I used to search for treasures in a creek where I used to live nearly every single day. These days I have a little baby and I don't get out much so when she naps I watch your videos and live vicariously thru your adventures!
Another uplifting video, thank you. Glad the stowaway crab made it back home! 😄 Lovely finds, the complete pipe is stunning. The metal 'brooch' is one side of a belt fastening from the Art Deco period, set with paste stones, the rounded tab on the back would have hooked into a slot or loop on it's corresponding other half.
"So there I was, doing a bit of mudlarking after the storm. I'd just set my eyes on a beautiful early 21st century copepod, racing to capture it before the tide took it, when this big boot landed - splat - between me an' my prize! Highly indignant, I was! So I grabbed that boot with both pinchers to give it what-for, and you know, it just flew into the air and back down -wham!- again, and again...all I could do was hang on for dear life and go along with it. ...."
That reminds me of the story I read based in Canada about a bear in the trunk of a classic car in the 1970's, it came "alive" scaring the heck out of the driver and the two teenagers in the back seat when the trunk popped open and a grizzly jumped out. I guess they learnt their lesson not to assume that all road kill is actually dead and check before you claim it and stuff it in your trunk lol.

Loved that red ♥️ bottle stopper that looked like an arrow ⬆️ !!! Very beautiful !!! Wonderful adventure Nicola 😊 !!! ♥️🦀

Living in the U.S., our history seems so short compared to the vast European countries. Thank you so very much for all your time and effort, Nicola 😊. Safe travels and blessings for health and happiness to you always 🤗.
Nice video opener with the focus blurred & the boat wake & birds on the wing overlay & coming into focus. Would love to see how you work your various stoppers into your different creations.
Never ceases to amaze me what you find and the history is amazing! It would be an absolute ball tagging along with you, not to mention educational! Oh and that little crab is your newest admirer! Thanks so much for sharing.
Hi Nicola, I loved the plate shard with the deer on it. I first thought the leaves were just stylised antlers, but then I realised these are Chinese Mila deer or commonly known as 'Pierre David deer'. Mila deer decorate their antlers with foliage during the rut to draw attention to themselves! Mila deer have the world's only backwards facing antlers and once became extinct in the wild but luckily, enough of them were been kept in European collections to start a breeding program and now their numbers are starting to recover. 9:40. is a Harbour Ragworm. Hugs, Louie Xx
@luminous life Hi, all I can say is it's a typical Chinese scene from certain localities and the Mila deer is deeply embedded in Chinese folklore due to it's quirky nature but whether the piece was actually made in China would need further research. Thankfully Nicola has enough of the pattern to help her look into it's origin should she be interested. :)

Thank you Nicola for another superb video Nicola. Always so well done and an amazing look at your excellent powers of observation and appreciation of the world around you.
Hi Nicola, it is easy to hear on your voice, when you find something extra interessting, like the red stopper! The electricity and joy you feel jumps over to your viewers! Keep searching, and happy hunting for the hidden treassures and objects.
I literally got the chills and shouted “WOW” out loud when you extracted that pipe. I startled my husband so that he threw the handful of jigsaw puzzle pieces that he was sorting (for his 3000 piece jig saw puzzle) into the air and shouted “AHHHHH”. He was not impressed, and I couldn’t control my laughter for over 10 minutes!!! So thank you for the humourous incident alone, but that pipe extraction was awesome!! Cheers!!
Dawn Piccolo It is a Ravensburger puzzle of 99 beautiful places in Europe. I bought it for Christmas for the two of us to do but it is basically 99 mini puzzles in one so my husband has taken up the responsibility and has been sloughing away at it since then. We lived in Germany for 4 years and visited 26 countries in Europe while there so it is a chance to reminisce. Cheers!!
A crab in your boot... both adorable and yucky at once, but mostly cute and funny... only you Nicola...lol. Awesome and interesting finds. Love your videos!
Happy lucky crab! You have a heart for animals Nicola. Enjoyed the Thames mudlarking with you, hope to be able to visit London and Thames one day. Have a great week!
Hello Nicola, your video is so lovely, they all are. The beginning of the video, the music edited with the birds is so lovely. It’s very magical, relaxing, and just creates such a soothing moment. Love all of your videos❤️ thank you🙂
Just started watching about your videos from here in Canada a month ago. I love your appreciation for everything you find and I learn something in the process. I look forward to your next video.
Another history lesson to go along with your finds. That's the best part of the video 👍! On the padlock, since one company outlasted the other, maybe they bought the others equipment when they closed up shop and they repurposed the lock, stamping their own name into it.
Very nice finds and video. Such Wonderful locks with character and another interesting horse find. (Always love them) It's a rare thing when a crab can tell it's family about the time it rode in a car, spent some time in a boot and.. the kind lady who brought it back home to the river. All the best to you.
I want to say a big thank you to yourself and Si-finds for giving me a bigger appreciation for things that you find washed up on the foreshore, today, after storm Clara, I took my dog for a walk on the local beach and I’ve found a really beautiful stone which I’m going to make into a necklace, before I would have just walked over it, but now I look for little things. So thanks again.
Hi Nicola, nice finds! Beautiful red stopper! Always enjoy your videos, they are so interesting and relaxing to watch as well! Thank you for sharing...take care!
Hello Nicola, I very much enjoy your mudlarking experiences on the Thames. The nice finds are exciting, and the views of the river and it’s scenery are delightful. More scenery please! Warm regards, Lina from the U.S.A
I love it that Nicola takes such pains to help keep the wee creatures alive and well. So glad that little crab was still alive when Nicola discovered it.
Nicola, such magnificent finds pretty lady you never cease to amaze me. I love watching your videos..I can never get enough. From B.C. to A.D. Your England is a wonderful treasure Trove. Don't stop now I can never wait for the next episode. ❤ from Texas
A little brooch thing look like maybe it was a number one and had room for tons more little rhinestones. I really enjoy watching your show. You were one of the first mudlarks I ever watched and I haven't stopped yet. Good luck in the muck.
Very good episode. I don’t know if I ever told you but I look forward to seeing your episodes with excitement. Not just for what you find but you have an awesome way of explaining the way you feel if not in words in the awe that you exclaim with each new find. I wish you were closer so I could join you on these adventures. But the videos are the next best thing. So thank you very very much for sharing
Another fabulous video. So many beautiful gifts from the river. I especially love the locks! I took a friend to a local dump yesterday and he got his first whole lock. He’s over the moon about it. Happy Hunting! ~ Gypsy
Wow Nicola you have good eyesight! As a SE Londoner living in Canada for the last 30 years it is nice to see how clean the Thames is these days.My father worked for the Port of London police in the 50's and 60's, back then then nothing would be able to live in the Thames, if you fell in you would very likely have to have your stomach pumped. Even in the 70's I would visit the Cutty Sark pub in Greenwich and enjoy a pint sitting by the river. But if the tide was low, and the wind in the wrong direction, the smell would be very unpleasant. I really enoy your videos Nicola, and appreciate the work you put into them. I often start the day watching them in bed, and find it put me in a good mood to start the day. Thank you
This was terrific, I recently began watching mudlarking but the channel I was following is not as good as yours that I just found. Your channel is much more interesting and informative. I liked this video and subscribed.
RUclips just randomly recommended one of your videos to me and I have to say: I am hooked. 😘 They are so relaxing to watch and then the old and interesting finds! I love your videos and really hope that you find the beautiful red bottle stopper some day and can show it to us. I am amazed by your knowledge and the knowledge in the comments from your viewers. Seriously, I can not wait to watch the next video although I still have some older ones left. 🙂
I I was so disappointed that you lost. The Beautiful red stopper. And I really liked the Native AmericanToy also the interesting padlocks. Thank you so much and Nicola. Greetings from the US🇺🇸
That was incredible! When you extracted the clay pipe in the beginning, I heard trumpets!! It was like the heavens opened up and Grabriel himself was announcing another beautiful clay pipe extraction by Nicola the Princess of the Thames! < Oh, what was that squiggly creature?
Seeing those padlocks reminds me of a lad l used to go to school with, one of his sayings was 'thas a bramah' meaning very good, super nice, awsome. A few years ago l found out by chance bramah is the name of a lock maker of distinction. Thanks for sharing your finds, my sis found a frog in her boot.

Great video, Nicola! I always enjoy the side-bit historical stories that come with the finds...that bit of buckle is very cool, despite it's 'dangerous' pointy parts 🤣
The pipe just peeking out of the advancing tide was so exciting to watch you extract from the waves! So long the stem was! The pipes are so intriguing to me. Some have no heel to speak of or maybe a small flat spot, others have quite a long spur. So much can be found out about them. Chief Running Horse was a great find! I love the lead toys you find. You will have to get your research assistant to look into your padlock .
Great finds love all the time that you have taken to make your own special gift for us all the finds you can enjoy with us and we can always ❤ your thoughts on them
I tour US Civil War battlefields and never find an artifact. I just want to find one minie ball and know that 150 years ago another human touched it. Love your finds!
When you had the crab and walking it back to the water I about fainted because I thought you had poo in your hand.😳🤣 never thought it was Mr Crab 🦀 Thanks for the lovely video!
Awesome video as always. When you clean one of those locks next time you should film the process you use. It amazes me how much better they look after you clean them.
I'm probably the only one that liked the creepy crawlie that you filmed, but I find it amazing the variety of life down at the shore in the heart of London.
Nicola, watching your videos makes me so happy. I look forward to your adventures every weekend and now wear a silver clay pipe with a Thames garnet because you opened my eyes to the beauty of these fragile and precious objects.
Another grand video of mud larking. Every now and then as I watch, I tell you, "wait go back take a look at that", of course you cant hear me :) anyhoo...at 12:20 as you pick up and peek at the Prince of Wales button, the hand hammered pot handle is laying there on the stone unloved and unoticed. I have a few very old copper cooking pots whose handles are exactly the same shape and design, a craftsman pounded out and swirled the end of the handle to secure it to a pot or kettle. I dont know if those are a common find on the Thames shore, they certainly are not in Canada.
great fines Nic, you have to be the Queen of pipes, you fine so many more than others, also happy to see your little hitchhikers got back to the river uninjured, happy ending all around, looking forward to your next adventure video, take care and best wishes
Nicola your very brave putting your hand in your boot...and out pops a crab...i'v never wear the boot again...loll... Another smashing video...thank you...xx
I love that you referred to a Noel Hume book! He was born in England and as a young man after the war landed the job of head of archaeology at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. He was a fantastic writer who produced non-fiction page turners about his various projects. He spent a fair amount of time mudlarking as a youth and on his many return trips. Occasionally he was able to use one of his Thames finds to help date and identify something he had dug up in Virginia.
Good to have you back 👍 3 Pilgrim Street Newcastle is about 20 miles from me and today it is a Coffee Shop!! 😉 🌹xx it's not the original building its a group of businesses inside old shipping containers but the address for Yolo Coffee is 3 Pilgrim Street ❤️
I love your mudlarking adventures so much, and I especially look forward to the roundup in your studio. Bet you'll find some amazing things after this weekend's storm Kiara!! Phew it's been rough hasn't it? 🤪lol...Thanks Nicola
Oh God! I am making you rich clicking and watching your videos...but it is so worth it for I admire how you see beauty in every object. A splendor of artistic sensibilities no other brings to mudlarking. Great job.
Another lovely and fascinating assortment of finds, Nic! Your little crab reminded me of living in Austin, Texas, where it is not at all unusual to find a scorpion in your boot. They end up there to escape the Texas heat. Much more unpleasant a surprise than the little crab!

Great finds love all the time that you have taken to make your own special gift for us all the finds you can enjoy with us and we can always ❤ your thoughts on them
you have a great eye for finding the smallest of things..amazing!! The little red stopper..i would have missed that i think.
Such amazing finds! The red bottle stopper was my favourite.
This has been so much fun watching. I have just come across your video. I walk the beach near my house now I want to go mudlarking at the Themes !
I tour US Civil War battlefields and never find an artifact. I just want to find one minie ball and know that 150 years ago another human touched it. Love your finds!
Wonderful & interesting as always. Thanks Nicola.
Oh yes, I was so sad that that beautiful little handle was overlooked! The line of beauty in those curves! :(
I think that handle is from a pale used for tarring. Often i find with pale attached with some old tarring brushes near by.
I saw it too and thought what a beautiful hand forged handle...lovely curves.
As always, very watchable and completely interesting . Thank you !
great fines Nic, you have to be the Queen of pipes, you fine so many more than others, also happy to see your little hitchhikers got back to the river uninjured, happy ending all around, looking forward to your next adventure video, take care and best wishes
Another great video Nicola. It warmed me up on this cold Michigan Day. Your friend Steve Bonds from Bay City Michigan USA
good! Thanks Steve
You are so awesome in the sweetie for saving on a crab! You are so nice to all the animals you see and it is a pleasure to hear💜
"Thank you for watching" ? .. Thank YOU for sharing - I love your vlogs.
Nicola your very brave putting your hand in your boot...and out pops a crab...i'v never wear the boot again...loll...
Another smashing video...thank you...xx
W.G. Pace!! It's clear as day on a 65" screen!! 💯😅🔥
Compared to the other letter that is clearly a 'C' it is a 'G' for W.G.
The red stopper was a very awesome find. You losing it reminds me of the Chiggs theme song. :)
I don't know who the Chiggs are... But was the bottle stopper a Victorian one, for perfume perhaps ?
I love that you referred to a Noel Hume book! He was born in England and as a young man after the war landed the job of head of archaeology at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. He was a fantastic writer who produced non-fiction page turners about his various projects. He spent a fair amount of time mudlarking as a youth and on his many return trips. Occasionally he was able to use one of his Thames finds to help date and identify something he had dug up in Virginia.
You have such a soothing voice Nicola.
I always watch one of your videos on Sunday night to help me chill before the madness that is Monday morning.
Thanks Gary. I hope your Monday will not be too stressful x
Another wonderful and interesting video. Little dog was really cute!
Oh God! I am making you rich clicking and watching your videos...but it is so worth it for I admire how you see beauty in every object. A splendor of artistic sensibilities no other brings to mudlarking. Great job.
I love watching your adventures just to see what you will uncover in the mud. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Hello Acadia from the other side of Canada. Sorry the the Acadians were dragged from their land. Horrid story that. Take care. Love.🇨🇦
Another lovely and fascinating assortment of finds, Nic! Your little crab reminded me of living in Austin, Texas, where it is not at all unusual to find a scorpion in your boot. They end up there to escape the Texas heat. Much more unpleasant a surprise than the little crab!
It’s amazing you can just touch history the way you do when you find an old padlock or pipe or buckle. The mind boggles
great finds! i love the long pipe and the token ! those padlocks are very interesting! i think it says W G Pace , it just looked like that to me :)
Thank you!
Merci pour cette petite promenade
