- In this video I will be sharing the truth behind which body parts initiate the swing throughout the backswing and downswing. This is something that not enough people know about and it is so crucial in being able to create power and to make the swing feel more effortless.

Makes perfect sense…. I’ve been a golfer for 30+ years and I’ve read about this move, but you explain it very clearly in this video. Thank you.
It's the first time someone explain very well the downswing. Excellent job!
Best golf advise channel ! The most underrated ! Thanks JKM you fixing my swing after 6 months of depression of overwhelmed information
Excellent instruction video. I love how you clearly show the right and wrong body movements to make it easy to learn. 😊
I've recently got rid of a load of complicated swing thoughts and gone back to basics with the golf swing as a dynamic, balanced movement. It's made me excited about the sport again. I think the swing can be massively complicated when fundamentals like balance and sequencing are within our brains and just need to be accessed.
The analogy of "like a whip" helped me a lot. When I get that sequence right it feels really good! Thankyou!
My guy this clear concise instruction is it. Finally.
This is by far the best swing explanation and very crystal clear when you explain by separating the lower part body rotation and the upper part body rotation. This will help me practice the drill by starting the rotation from hip, then chest then arm and the wrist to release all the force to the club head. Thank you so much.
Great drill, I turn everything at once, going to work on this. Thanks
so nuanced ! thanks for sharing useful insights!
Another great video! my brain needed this one. Keep it up! you have the best information and break downs for swinging the club!
This makes sense. I appreciate your videos
Great great video Kim! Thanks a bunch!
Thanks Johnathan for the very detailed explanation of the down swing. Excellent video👍😃
It makes so much sense, looking forward to practicing on the range, thanks 🙏
Great vid, exactly what I was looking for!
will try it out
thank you for the good demo
Thanks Jonathan great video again 💯
Yeah definitely something I need to work on, thanks for the clear explanation.
Excellent teaching!
Another awesome vid! Love the feeling of separating the lower half from the chest.
Thumbs up, Jonathan! I like the way you patiently describe the sequence. I have to say it's the first time I feel comfortable with the sequence after I started some 4 years ago. We have a short season in Norway, so that is a factor, but I guess unless you are younger (54 here), you have to be carful to try out too much at once with diffferent RUclips advice. It's termpting to get all those inputs, but they make you just more confused if it's too soon. Step by step is my advice, some take more time than others. Just the way it is.
Really helpful and explained well.
Greatest golf video I’ve ever watched no 🧢
Great instruction, keep it up
Nice one Johnathan 👍
This is a very helpful video.😊
Very good video, thanks.
Listen to this man.
Best tip I got was to feel like club head is behind you at all times
Great explanation.
How do you hit further? Is that just faster weight transition and hip + upper body movement? Does the arms play a role when you want to add distance, or do they just always follow the body without you “controlling” them? That’s the one concept I still can’t figure out. Thanks
Sensei Kim! How do you keep fixing my golf swings??? After your video, I realized I was not downswinging my golf club at the end of the sequence but rather before all of the shoulders, chest and hips were ready! Can you teach in my country!? Do you have online live teachings?
Thanks!
Jonathan, I like your explanation here but could you mesh this with your "weight shift timing" instruction?
Is the belt buckle pointing toward the ball when the lead arm is parallel or have the hips opened more to the target?
i understand that you don't initiate the arms coming down first, however that feel is good for players that tend to spin out like myself and come over the top.
Would you still want this separation feel for partial shots? For example a 50-75% wedge? Or a 40 yard pitch shot? Thanks so much!
I'm no pro but I think it's better to have just one swing - as much as it is possible of course.
Fantastic explanation. Thanks
More separation and faster uncoiling = more power
The same sequence applies, but since partial shots need less power, a shorter backswing is needed and since slower uncoiling is needed, open up the hips at address. Basically, the first part of the sequence (lower body) is already done.
Hips turning or slight bump forward?
We wanna see on course golf vlogs
Can you feel as though you’re doing a little squat from the top of the backswing transitioning to the downswing
I like it feels like cheats closed longer and club swings more in to out great feeling more speed and consistency thanks to
Hi Jo, nice video, getting understand how is the sequences work, is this sequence same as driver swing? thanks
Yes
Once you get to p6, everything should be going together. Otherwise, you’re going to get stuck like a bullfighter.
