Man, much appreciated for putting a great video together. You are the first man who isn't using spring compressor but completed the job perfectlly!
I like the spring install technique you used on that one.
Smooth with the no compressor action. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Thank you for taking the time to produce this video. Will be very helpful for me.
Nice install. Cool how it was done without a spring compressor.
I was yelling at the video saying "no no, don't touch that nut!!" But he knew what he was doing. Nice install 👍🏼
👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
So the spring will compress by itself ?
Cool.. That's how it's done with the top cap in place still.
this video's going to give me way to much confidence! nicely done.
Did you do the ecgs clamshell bushing bro? I have the 6112/5160 sitting in my room. Deciding on rear add a leafs still and want to do the ecgs while i have it apart.
Thank you for pronouncing Bilstein correctly.
2011 tacoma. I was able to get the bolts out and not bend the sheet metal, then to put them back in I removed the grill and tapped them back in past the pinch point.
Interesting way on compressing the spring.
That is a beautiful looking install, nicely done and very well explained !!
Awesome video man, I'm definitely going to be using this once I install mine!
Another awesome install man 👌🏼
so you did 6112s in front, which clip setting was it on? Im assuming the highest setting right? and then the 5100s in the back with an add a leaf. thats what im planning on doing. Curious, what tire size do you run? and which tires/wheels? whats the offset? do you rub at all?
Nice installation. I'm going to buy the JBA UCA. After my Old Man Emu 2" lift I can't get a good alignment.
Did you end up getting the JBA uca? If so were you able to get a good alignment with them?
Hey man how is the ride on the top notch of the 6112? I have the same setup too including the Jba UCA and just got it done and is a good bit stiff ride for me.
Jesus and a balisong. I'm with you brother.
How long did it take for your suspension to settle? Just got the 6112/5160 done last a few days ago.
Ngl. Those red UCA’s are sexy af. 😂 I kinda wanna replace mine with those!
not sure if you still have this setup, but if you do, hows the ride quality holding up with the 6112s, still good?
I used this method today. Passenger side install went smooth.
Driver side went smooth up until I tried to jack up the LCA.
It just lifted the whole truck.
I need help on this one. any tips or ideas? As to what could be wrong?
Thank you.
Did you have any rubbing issues with the 33 inch tires at stock height? Any trimming or a CMC?
Great video. I just installed 5160s on the rear of my Tundra. About to get some 6112s for the front.
Thanks for the video. I am thinking about choosing 6112/5100 for my 5th gen 4runner. I wonder if 2 inch lift in the front and probably 1 inch in the rear on 2011 4runner require shorter/longer sway bar links? Can't find definitive info. Shock guides and videos are not talking about it.
did you do any trimming or adjustments with the 33s on stock height? any rubbing?
Question did u have any rubbing whit the 33s on those wheels?
You get 1” more down travel, I had to relocate the the line mounted to the UCA, it was stretched very far.
You weren’t rubbing with 33’s on stock height?
Bro made it looks easy!
Nice I’ve been debate on new suspension because these icon I have suck…I’ve been looking for what I need and not to over buy something I don’t need, seeing the bilstein 6112 is perfect with king shock on them…weekend warrior on the weekend and weekend pavement lol nice set up…
How high do they lift the truck 2inch or 2 & half??? I’m curious because the icon did 2.7 inch
i may need that sway bar drop. the 6112's are smooth, EXCEPT if there's a sudden drop, like a ditch and at really low speed, it's like the shocks have extremely high rebound and it jars the truck. Really strange.
If i’m not re-using the OEM (front) shocks that came with the 4runner and bought , let’s say a spring that gives me a 2.5” lift (constant load of 70lbs-100lbs) which circlip should i go with? Since the first circlip gives “no lifts” but i have a spring that achieves 2.5”, sorry a bit confused, someone here mind shining some light my way, thanks.
So the springs alone offer no lift? Are you then preloading those springs by using the top groove to obtain lift?
Great instructional video bro! I’m removing my bilstein 5100s and oem UCAs this weekend and installing this exact setup for my front
That was a really nice explanation!
Do the 33s rub? I just got some 6112s and some 5160s for the rear. I'm doing a 2 inch front lift and a 1 inch in the back but I actually off road often. I have a 2016 off road and a 2019 sport. But I'm actually putting them on my sport. If I like them I'll do them on the off road. I didn't get the sway bar drop or upper control arms though.
Nice! You made that look easy.
My second post mybad, the sway bar you just install what do they do? Do I need it on my Tacoma? I got basically icon 3in lift with camburg uca in 34s for tires…
How are those working for you ? I found a set for $300? Used 30 k ?
Do the 6112 struts rub the stock uca? Or was the uca replaced to improve camber and caster on alignment
Have you experienced any vibrations after your lift? Any needle bearing issue?
I have not, drives like a dream after the alignment following Marlins direction.
Thanks for the video. I'll be watching it when I do my truck. Any reason you went with JBA UCAs over of SPC UCAs? What size tires and offset you you have? I've seen posts that says OME 886, 887, 888 springs won't work with the 6112s. What springs do you have?
I'm not sure what they are called, but they come with the 6112s
I have spc ucas on my Taco. The first set came out with bad bushings so the company sent me new ones and paid for the change out. I had to return the old ones, however, a little less than 2 years and the spc ucas are making the same clik clak noises again. Im thinking of going with the jba ucas. I just have to sweet talk the boss in to it. She's tough on my money.
How did the alignment go with the JBAs? any rub on the body mount?
I’m curious as well.
I’m debating on installing JBA UCAs on my FJ Cruiser. What is your opinion of them now that you have had them over a year now?
question how does the sway bar drop helps? whats the difference if you dont drop it?
Hi, did you grease the fittings before or after torquing down the bolts? Much appreciated
Are you going to do a front differential drop?
Very informative, what size tires are you running with stock suspension & did you have any rubbing issues
How’s the ride Sean , you have the 650lb or 600lb springs ? Is it to stiff ?
Is the sway bar dropped required?
Hi sean what kind of JBA did you have? What model? Thank you
Did you have any issues with the tss lights coming on? So far best instructional video on how to change it out 👍🏽.
I had a 2" lift on my 2019 Tacoma. A year later the tss stop working, now I have a warning on my dash that its not working. The dealer says they cant fix it because now the sensor is to high. Sounds like bs to me. 2" lift took the sensor out of order. Hmm. The truck is drivable, its just annoying that I cant see the center info window, its blocked by the sensor warning.
@@oscarposada6144 install a Heritage grill with "Toyota" name on it. That lowers your sensor.
How you manage to fit 33s stock ..!!!!
What size tires are you running ? Can you fit 33” with these ?
How do u like the 6112 honestly, do they ride to firm on the streets highway etc
I think these shocks ride nice, but springs and shocks are not tuned for tacoma weight.
Any reason you went with 5100 over 5160?
managed to get the same package including the UCA- The only difference since I don't have the necessary tools, will have to sacrifice the labor to have it done professionally. I am guessing once its done, putting on 33's will give it a better look and feel?
Appreciate the video.
alignment is required after the new tires.
Nice and simple video are awesome! U make it look easy. Where you get your upper control arm from ?
Any idea what the spring rating is...how many pounds the front shocks can handle.
Bilstein E4-FD1-Z005B50.
I have the same setup.
Update: these are 600lb springs.
Any updates on your Taco? How's the ride on trails?
What size and offset rim are you running?
Hey bro how's the ride quality on the highest notch?
Could you have kept the stock uca?
Looks great! What size tires and wheels?
Like the red
What size tires are those?
No issues with rubbing on the UCA with stock wheels and bigger tires? You did not need a wheel spacer?
ignore this, just watched your other video with the 21 4runner Pro wheels.
I have the same question?
Keep us posted - one of my bilsteins blew up in less than a year...
And about JBA:
The control arms themselves is nothing but a couple of welded pipes and plates.
The only part that might require basic intelligence and quality control is the ball joint, and the damn thing failed in less than a year. Not extremes/off-roading.
The reason is that this outfit get incompatible pieces from third parties - the boot doesn't seal at all because it's FOR A DIFFERENT BALL JOINT, for fuck's sake! They attempted to "fix" the issue by adding an aluminum bushing but it's like treating a corpse with aspirin. The joint is full of water/sand mixture, and, of course, their "warranty" doesn't cover a damn thing other than the pipes.
In three words, IT'S A SCAM.
Very well done instructional video!! Where did you ever find any 6112s? I've been looking for a while.
Shock surplus has them right now. I just ordered them yesterday and they shipped this morning. They have the 6112 unassembled in stock.
@@dakinehawaiian79 Thanks for the response. I checked their web site and it says out of stock. I sent them a message to double check. Thanks for the video. I'll be watching it when I do my truck. Any reason you went with JBA UCAs over of SPC UCAs? What size tires and offset you you have?
New follower 👍🏽👍🏽
i have the same setup in my 17! i deleted the sway bar tho.
You get a torque wrench into places like that using a, “crows foot” if you keep the torque wrench at 90 degrees to the foot you just set it for desired torque. If you wanna do it in a straight line you have to reduce the torque proportional to the new lever length to the old effective lever length.
Bending the bodywork is hacky man, you can cut the bolt and replace it. I find it hard to believe Toyota bends the metal to do this work 🤔
Awesome video. Thanks
Any one out there using ome 2888 coils on 5100's on zero setting?
I’ll take your upper control arms?
Similar setup but my truck tramlines all over...
can i dm
The jesus evangelism in the JBA boxes are kinda creepy though
How are those working for you ? I found a set for $300? Used 30 k ?
