- Protests have broken out after Georgia's parliament approved the divisive "foreign agents" bill.
The legislation is seen by some as threatening press and civic freedoms and there are concerns it's modelled on laws used by President Vladimir Putin in neighbouring Russia.

Would the Dream party be forced to register as a Foreign Agent? If so, then it's a fair law.
2024 is turning out to be a pretty wild episode of south park
Any foreign issue renders me sat waiting for the two interfering letters, US.
LOL
Pretty strong barrier that. I dont see anything wrong with the bill, foreign agents have to register their business interests if they want to conduct business activities in Georgia. Makes sense to me.
The proposed law is modeled after a similar one in Russia that the Kremlin has used to increasingly snuff out opposition and civil society. Many Georgians fear their foreign agents bill will be used to the same way it has been in its northern neighbor: to quash dissent and free expression by going after nongovernmental organizations with financial ties overseas.
Mind Begs the Question:
- If UK/USA/West Politicians are funded
- By a Pro Apartheid Lobby
- UK/USA/West Politicians are
- Pro Democracy or Pro Apartheid?
The bill is absolutely reasonable. The US and EU are just upset that Georgia is doing what is best for Georgia and not for Western interests.
Will the entire government of Georgia then register as foreign agents now? Clearly they are foreign agents of Russia.
@@UKR636 Well the bill will show who had funded the protests. The US has similar laws and the EU commission want to implement similar laws also!
Under the bill - which passed its third and final reading with 84 votes against 30 on Tuesday - NGOs and independent media that receive more than 20% of their funding from foreign donors would have to register as organisations "bearing the interests of a foreign power. This legislation has been controversial, with some arguing for transparency and others fearing suppression. Here's a breakdown of the key points:
Registration Requirement: NGOs and independent media outlets relying on more than 20% foreign funding must register as organizations "bearing the interests of a foreign power."
Government Oversight: The Justice Ministry would oversee these registered organizations.
Transparency vs. Suppression: Supporters claim the law increases transparency about foreign influence. Critics fear it will be used to stifle dissent and independent media, similar to a law in Russia.
There have been protests against the bill, and the Georgian president has even vowed to veto it. However, the current system is parliamentary, making the President's veto less impactful.
doesnt the US have the same law..?
Mate the UK has Democracy Lite so let's worry about that.
With shocking amounts of Russian oligarch and Chinese influence.
@@WhiteIkiryo-yt2it well maybe we should have the very law the Georgian mob don't want...duhhh
I don't know that there's a place that has Democracy anymore. I think there's something like a facade of Democracy, but it's wearing away really fast.
Absolutely fair law.
Just asking
Does the USA and UK and others have a very similar foreign agents bill?
Just asking🤔
Yes we do, but the Truth doesn't matter in the US and EU anymore.
Yes US has Foreign Agents Registration Act, Canada has S-237, An Act to Establish the Foreign Influence Registry, and UK, EU is considering similar bill in future against Russian, Chinese Iran influence. I dont understand why Georgia cant have it too. So hypocritical
@@WestEast1World the US does not have a fascist russian foreign agents act. Nor does the EU. Only fascist Russia and now also Georgia has fascist Russian laws.

Smart move Georgia. Congratulations! 👍The bill is a Georgian bill inspired by similar laws in the US which lessen foreign influence.
Yes. Bought off by russian imperialism. Good work troll!...
they will pay dearly for it
@@vegan.soyboy How so?
The US does not have fascist Russian foreign agent laws. I wonder if the government of Georgia will now adhere to their own bill and go and register themselves as foreign agents of the Kremlin?
Yes. Be happy with paid pro russian president....
Would be pretty angry for the huge number of Russians fleeing mobilisation and now they could get repatriated
Decrying foreign influence and then wearing an EU flag is a little incongruous.
Ohh ,no more CIA money, this is outrageous 😅
Transparency is now a Russian policy?!
Western Politics is disgusting.
Knew it was only a matter of time before morons started accusing the CIA :D
What about the Foreign Agents Registration Act (22 U.S.C. § 611) (FARA)? Is it undemocratic as well? "Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi"?
Thought this was Georgia, USA, for until about 15 seconds in.
It won’t end up going through, it can’t. Just look at the people protesting & the fighting in the parliament 🤷🏻♂️
In 1938, Congress enacted the Foreign Agents Registration Act ("FARA"), requiring “foreign agents” to register with the Attorney General. As amended over the years, it applies broadly to anyone who acts on behalf of a “foreign principal” to, among other things, influence U.S. policy
Sounds like a good idea on paper but I doubt it has followed it's intended use considering the other methods of subversion that have been used by foreign nations...Hollywood in particular with their communist history.
Except for AIPAC...
That bills exist does NOT mean enforced. Globalists have fun USA as long as EU has European "countries."
The people of Georgia should be very careful...This is how things started in Ukraine
America's empire is built on the spilled blood of countries turned to anarchy. The CIA & state department has a lot to answer for. America will never let people be free from their agenda if they can help it.
Things started in Ukraine only because "foreign agents" began interfering in the internal governance of that country. It's an absolutely reasonable and fair law that's been introduced.
...but, but, but as per the Rules Based International Order the United States demands the freedom to interfere in the domestic politics of the every other country. (Except Israel.)

Parliament needs to stand with the people, not with Putin's regime. Democracy has to be the order of the day. The people "are" the country!
When the Parliament are corrupt Russian oligarchs...
The Georgian government wants to introduce a law that has been in force in the United States since the 30s of the last century. but in a softened version. USA doesn't like it
Sadly, the people are standing with real Nazism. They are paid protesters. They are employed to protest. American funded protests
1% of population is not the people. Transparency is a tool of democracy.
Hence this legislation against any international interference and corruption and for transparency on financing of "NGOs"!
thought the president was going to veto it.
She is powerless and on the payroll of the EU, so corrupt, shes not even Georgian shes French

One must wonder if there's a representative of the U.S. State Department giving those protesters cookies.
@LittleBishop001 trust me we don't, we have a few thousand brainwashed people in Georgia and they will calm down very soon, we are not going to be useful idiots for the west again,... UK and USA ambassadors asking for a war against Russia, openly
Only the fools will be angry. The US has the same laws. Why is the EU not telling the US to do away with such laws.
Why just " controversial" law?
Most MSM called it "Russian laws" so did the reporter in the video.

Congratulations to Georgia for the first steps they have taken in driving foreign occupiers out and having an independent foreign and domestic policy
ROFLMAO, will the government which is clearly a foreign occupier and agent of the Kremlin, drive itself out of Georgia now then?
Looks like they can kiss their EU membership goodbye.
I think the Georgian gov't decided that it's better they don't want their country to be destroy than to join the EU. EU economy is going down the drain anyway. It's not worth the risk.

Doesn't matter who they vote for, its Putin, who is counting.
Here are people who know nothing about Georgia
Worldwide the people have had more than enough of public servants ruining their lives and constantly telling them what to do, this is only going to get worse and about time !!
Thing is it's not just the fact they're implementing the law, they're not listening to the voices of the people. That is also something to expect from Russia. I wouldn't be surprised if someone takes a truck to those barriers and charge the parliament building.
