Your "perceived reality" somehow forgot to mention some extremely important facts... Russia had demanded they get to keep Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea. They also were demanding NATO remove all troops stationed on its eastern flank, give Russia veto powers over who can join NATO, and to for NATO to stop expanding eastward.
These sudden "peace negotiations" were also occurring when Russia was losing ground.
It was BS negotiations used as a stalling tactic.

Ukraine is experiencing what Germany did near the end of WW2. Germany started recruiting children and old men. That said, the selective service age in USA is 18 years old.
25 is not 18.

There is no comparison. Ukraine has not touched its younger generation. The average age of a soldier in WW2 was 21. In Vietnam it was 19. Ukraine doesn't even call up anyone under 27. Why that is is a mystery to me.

The years of attrition warfare against Iran left the once formidable Iraqi Army in a state of a dying animal on the side of the road. That's why the US led coalition steamrolled over them in weeks. If you argue that western modern warfare experience is Iraq as a reference point, the West needs a lot of work and it's no wonder it fails against militia fighters of Iraq, Afghanistan and the Houthis

I think, that although Ukraine would be forced to make HUGE concessions to Russia if peace talks took place under these circumstances, It could also gain some advantages.
It is unlikely that they could retain Crimea, or Donbass, but I don`t think Russia would ask for more territotial concessions (or perhaps minimal ones). IF Ukraine can get in exchange their adhesion to NATO and the EU without Russia oposing, this would greatly benefit Ukranian people in the long term.....
The leverage Ukraine has right now, is, that, although Ukraine can`t win the war, it CAN make Russia pay a heavy price for its "victory".
But, IF they force Russia to pay this price, Russia is going to want the whole prize (all of Ukraine and Moldova).
So, both parts will have to think carefully about their situation......

As of May 20, 2024 Zelensky is no longer a president of Ukraine. There are no elections for the new president because of the war. So he's new signatures on law are no longer going to work. Ukraine doesn't have a president right now. If you watch other Ukrainian videos, there are empty streets in Ukraine, there's no man on the streets, the economy is going downhill, no more men at work. They are forced to go into war against their will.. It's becoming worse than North Korea.. I suggest you not to watch TV and news, but watch videos of real Ukrainian that flee the country and or get shoved/kidnapped and are thrown into cars, because they don't want to go to fight.

@@ChuckPalomo When Ukraine loses - two countries will appear - Galicia in the Western Ukraine and something new in the Eastern Ukraine(independent or part of Russia) - and any Ukrainian will decide where is the home....
