- The war of words has intensified between the UK and Irish governments over the possible effects of the Rwanda policy.
(Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
Ireland's deputy prime minister said people are crossing the border from Northern Ireland as they are afraid of being sent to Rwanda.
The Irish government is preparing emergency legislation that will allow people to be sent back to the UK.
But Rishi Sunak said he was “not interested” in any sort of returns deal if the European Union did not allow the UK to send back asylum seekers who had arrived from France.

@@callu947umm the Irish elite were posting "come to ireland" posts on social media in multiple 3rd world languages like last year...
IRELAND for the IRISH!!!
They're dumping all of them into NI. The Rwanda plan IS the Ireland plan.
Barry Andrews is spot on.
Typical politcian, can't give a straight answer to a straight question 😂
Homeless Irish people and people who can't afford to live are not subhuman either.
Sent back to Rwanda? He didn't come from Rwanda you said yourself he's from Jordan
Well he's going to Rwanda' suck it up

So what if Rwanda is having the effect of sending the unwanted over to Ireland? The EU shouldn't have facilitated them to come into the UK in the first place. "These people are not interested in you" says one immigrant who claims to have been in the UK for 17 years. Why should we be interested in him? Does he care about what he and his ilk are doing to our country? Of course not.
From the EU to the EU.
This is not our problem
ECHR 🚮
That's what Brexit was supposed to mean, no longer being ruled by others - and no longer being swamped by immigrants thanks to EU rules. Really sorry for ireland. But you chose to stay in the EU, so take it up with them.
If they're in my country of Ireland instead of the UK then it would appear that Sunak's Rwanda deterrent is indeed working.
And here i wanted to move to ireland. Im decent fron 1820 settlers. Trying to go back to my roots. But now we cant😢
Your roots from 1820 settlers?! 😂 Your roots have long gone love.
Why not
Same cnut was interviewed by another station 3 weeks ago with a total different story said he travelled on visa to London but that the visa didn't allow him to claim asylum in Britain also boasted that he had a house in Jordan but wanted one in IRELAND because he was Entitled to one and ge would bring his whole family over once he gets given a house😡
Only 80% enter the Republic of Ireland from the UK?
So, what, 20% fly in on airlines that say at check in "ah, no papers at all, that's ok, you don't need any i.d. or travel document to fly to Ireland" or via ferry from France? yeah, right. Nearly 100% arrive from |UK.
How come the uk can say no chance to Ireland but can not to say it france
Not all fish are the same size.
Bullys still bully until they get the right slap in the mouth, to use a school yard analogy. The Irish might yet be in the same category as the Black and dog according to the elite in Britain. They had signs up in the guest houses in Britian "No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish". Nowadays, they no longer put it on signs, but their foreign policy in relation to Ireland tells the tale... e.g. how they tried to renege on the Good Friday Agreement in relation to putting back in a hard border in Ireland with the likelihood of a resumption of the war as an outcome, in breech of international law. Albion is always playing a zero-sum game. Ireland by poor fortune just happens to be right next door to it.
The difference is that there is an open border between the Republic and Northern Ireland. Something the Irish government insisted upon post Brexit.
@@davidjames3787 Britain does not get to unilaterally rewrite an internationally binding peace agreement, at least not this one. So, just to help you with your inability to comprehend how things work in the big-boys classroom, It is not the Irish government that insisted upon adherence to the GFA, but International Law. I know that it may be difficult to abide by rules that you have agreed to, but that is what is expected, and in the case of the GFA, internationally insisted upon (USA, Europeans, Australians, and others). FYI, Britain has a history of shitting all over other nations, but it just did not get away with it on this occasion, even though it really tried to get away with it one more time.
The Rwanda business is far from complete, and we will see how things work out, after the Irish aligned nations ratchet up their pressure of Britain, one more time. You see, Ireland is no longer the dogsbody that Britain thinks that it is, and this Bully has run her course. She got a slap in the mouth from the Americans over adherence to the GFA, and she is being shown the closed American fist again now as we speak.
The question is, does Britain-beag want another public American lesson in international diplomacy, such that she has to scurry off with her tail between her legs again?
What do you think matey pal? :)
The Irish government wanted an open border and said the would be "no hard border on the island of Ireland under any circumstance, complete free movement across that border". And to have the Irish government squealing that these rules are against their national interests when they're the people that argued for them for years😂 You couldn't make this up, the hypocrisy is astounding 🤣
Yes, that is somewhat true. But this would never have been the case if the English never come a taken 6 counties in the first place. Kinda the English fault twice really....
Whats astounding is your ignorance, if the British were not ocvupying tbe morth of our country there would be no border issue Amadán.
We wanted an open border so our kith and kin the nationalist catholic community good move freely about the Island ,not for the whole world to come in.
Stop blaming the British when things go wrong ( favourite Irish pastime ) and accept accountability that your government wanted an "open border". So whatever the problems are of the Irish Republic they're largely of their own making and now they're paying the cost. You reap what you sow
@@paulmelia6730It was Ireland who wanted their independence. The people in Northern Ireland wanted to remain part of the UK. So get your facts right before commenting.
The uk/french deal is clearly not working as he says it is. What planet is this man on.
The problem is Ireland is still in the eu
They won't let you move them which is why the uk left the EU because we are also fed up with them especially southern England where the demographics is unrecognizable
The government could have opened a processing centre in France but refused it is the government's fault for not dealing with it but it's also the previous pm in Ireland who opened Irelands borders in the first place
Immigration to the UK is at record levels since Brexit. Only now they’re coming from India, Africa and the Middle East, as opposed to from continental Europe.
