Hello Father Time, just wanted to share you seem like an incredible individual. Can't help but smile all the way through this entire video. Great job, can't wait to fly her.
Well, you just made my night. I love hearing back, whether it’s positive or negative. Mostly I like the positives if I’m being honest:) thanks again. Jeff
Hi Father Time, what a great video. I love the systems on the MD11, just something different from the usual Boeings and Airbus aircraft. I have the old PMDG MD11 and it's great, but the graphics are no where near as good as todays Tfdi MD11, but I am stuck in FSX world still. Good news though, I have sorted my Seitek Throttle issues and now have a brand new Bravo Throttle, it's awesome and so cool. So I am building up my profiles and back flying again, the MD11 and Tristar are going to get a work out now, yay. Hope you keeping well and enjoying retirement still. Great video............All the very best Dave.
Always so great to hear from you my friend. I hope that all is well. I have so much to do now that the TFDI MD-11 and PMDG 777have finally arrived! All the best. Jeff
Ah I like how you can enjoy and spend over an hour inside the cockpit without even flying, just pre-programming the FMC and the route and calculating the aircraft details. I did the same back then when the Fenix Airbus released two years ago just to enjoy all thes awesome avionics and navigation computers. TFDI has a second classic jet in their hangar too that is waiting to be brought to Microsoft Flight Simulator no other development team will ever faithfully recreate for a sim: A good old Boeing 717.
Thank you. I guess that I could break my presentations down to six twenty minute videos, but I’ll leave that to others. I’ll always take it in real time, as that is what I bring to the table. I time-stamp my videos for guys to fast-forward and rewind as they progress. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I hope that they do bring the 717 over to MSFS. I don’t know what their next aircraft is, but I do know that they have one! I hope that they include me again, because I learned so much. Thanks again. Jeff.
Your videos are truly amazing sir. Just one recommendation to make these videos better, try using Frame-Gen mod so the video looks smooth 60fps. Currently it looks very choppy and stuttery for us viewers. Lossless scaling will fix it for you but wont help these videos capture it! Hope this helps!
Great video captain. Watching a couple more before I embark on an actual flight. So is it standard to land the MD11 with A/T engaged? I am so used to flying everything on manual and work the trim and throttles as in the MD80 that I worry I would not know what to do with myself on approach :)
I mean this with the greatest of respects, you remind me of a captain named Warren Vanderburgh. The way you explain things and how you share your experience is incredibly refreshing. I also love the little comments I've seen in other videos like "take that you nasty old runway!" Made me chuckle. I'm so glad I ran into your channel!
Thank you so much. I remember Warren very well, and I attended his presentations when the Advanced Aircraft Maneuvering Program (AAMP) was implemented at AAL. At that moment in time the fighter pilots took over AAL. The takeover was short-lived as a result of AAL 587 and the realization that transport category jets don’t like large rudder inputs. I definitely take your comparison as a compliment.
Any chance you could make a video showing how to fly an rnav approach with the autopilot? I can't get the md11 to descend below the lowest altitude on the descent, when at the FAF and beyond I can't get the plane to descend lower, I end up turning off AP to hand fly the final 10 miles.
@@wingviewproductions I’m happy that I’m helping. It’s a relatively complicated plane. It is one generation earlier than today’s jets, an MD had a little different philosophy than Boeing.
I’m buying this as soon as it comes out. The DC-10 was my most traveled airliner back in the day. We’d fly LAX to JFK every other weekend when my Dad got transferred to NYAIR. Must have flown that on American non-reving at least 40 round trips. Back in those days they would put nonrevs in first class if there was space for free. Talk about service, the meal service was second to none back then. The younger folks never experienced what has been lost due to deregulation. The “good old days” I suppose.
I inherited fine china from the Flagship service that AA had on the 707. My Grandfather was a PW engineer and confiscated the china on an inauguration Flght. My gene pool is sketchy.

Thanks to a close friend of mine I was able to accumulate more than 70 hours on the flightdeck jumpseats aboard Lufthansa Cargo MD-11Fs during twelve flights in the years 2012 to 2016. I cannot wait to do LH Cargo ops with this bird in the sim. Looks fantastic!
I really want to have a nice MD-11, but the duplicate call-outs and high-pitched "pressure washer" reverse sounds need to be addressed. I can't imagine the landing and rollout being much more than a low rumble. I appreciate the real world perspective.

Thanks for the tip. Frame Gen Mod. I’ll look at it tomorrow.
This vid is going to determine if I get this plane or not. 🤔
A couple historical points... the MD11 program launched in 1986, LN001 rolled out in 1989, first flight was early 1990, first delivery was end of 1990
Thanks Mike. I’ll use that in the future. Jeff

They de-clutch in the flare, so we used to never disconnect them.
So much fun to watch real pilot who actually knows aircraft. Thank you sir again! Absolutely loved it!❤

Thanks for doing these videos! Loving your takes on my upcoming bird and jealous you got to fly her! 😜 I’ve always had a thing for trijets!
Tri-Jets are the best, but they just couldn’t hang with those big, economical twins. Kind of sad!
