I bought my pre order back in February so I’m just waiting for the email and I’m good to go. I honestly don’t think it will be used as much considering how much I’m in love with the 777
Till 777 has a 777-200LR(F) the MD11 is my Cargo plane. Actually since I am also a pre-order, the MD11 is my cargo plane. Hopefully Memphis gets some love on Vatsim this week.
@@BritishAvgeek mate I’ve clocked a few hours in it already. I forgot what my kids names were for a min. But I’ve MD-11 is a different beast and I’ve flown on a few back in the AA/DL even did a EHAM-KMEM flight on one back in 1999. The 777 though. It’s a work of art. Without a doubt.

Recommendation for those with 2 Axis Throttles. Set Engine 2 (Middle Engine) to use both Axis and set Engine 1 and 3 as desired. This makes it so that Engine 2 requires both throttles for full power.
Can anyone tell how to enable reverser for all engines? I have only one axis to throttles, but only the middle engine reverse level moves. Also if i map two engine to axis1 and middle engine to axis 2.

I really hoped that this MD11 would be perfect, but there are so many issues. E.g. The Packs were instantly ok, after APU Bleed was selected, in reality it takes several seconds up to a minute. The LVL2 Alert IGN NOT ARMED and GEN ALL OFF is inhibited when engines are off, The Cargo door warning is displayed only on the system display, only the DOORS alert is displayed at the EAD (Engine and alert display).
You don’t need the Anti Ice the entire flight. It’s only needed and used bellow 6C in moisture or ICE DETECTED appears on the EAD. Other than that it’s just a waste. Also, you need to put the Ignition on Override to use the system
Thank you for this. I still use P3D and there are a lot of similarities with TFD's B717. Another great addon. I intend to get the MD11 for P3D and presume, apart from the throttle setup etc. the other steps will be the same?

Just a slight comment. Because of the unique three-main landing gear configuration on the MD-11, IRL procedure during load is to *NOT* set the ground parking brake. This is because the center landing strut is designed to rotate and compress, this necessitating freewheeling during any weight transfer. To do otherwise could seriously damage the associated strut hardware. Therefore, make sure _all_wheels are fully chocked (correctly simulated here), and *Release* the parking brake. Once the plane has been pushed (and the center gear has statically aligned), go ahead and use the parking brake as normal. Just another odd quirk to such an unique aircraft! 😊
I can't fly this since there is no tutorial on how to set up the throttles using thrustmaster's airbus throttles. Can't make them work no matter what I try...

Hello, I like the MD-11. I`m happy she is in MSFS now. what am I doing wrong: I can't open the cargo doors in the EFB. What else do I have to take into account so that the doors can be operated?
Curious as to why you mapped throttles 1 & 3 to a single axis when the Bravo has 4 throttle axes available? Why not just map throttles 1,2, and 3 independently?
Excellent video thanks. However I have ended up deleting the aircraft. This is a massive FPS killer for me. I have a 4080ti 32 GB Ram and my FPS drops by 50% on external views and 25% cockpit views which make a massive dent in immersion. Also still quite a few buggy issues. I did try the MOD to give frame friendly textures but the loss in quality was a shame.
Hello, thank you very much for your teaching, but I have a question about how to fill in the "CLB THRUST", "ACCEL" and "EO ACCEL" in the takeoff data. How to calculate this altitude? Is it calculated based on the sea pressure?
@@missuers6113 it's typically set to 1,500ft Above Ground Level but some departures require it to be 1,000ft above ground level for noise abatement so you just type in 1500 for example or 1000

@@BritishAvgeek I saw that the inertial navigation system light was on all the time. Does this mean that it is not completed? But after I waited for a while, it started flashing by itself, and the warning light did not go out.

Is switching fuel pumps on before engine start -not- in the start checklist? I know they can gravity feed but this is abnormal and especially on-ground starts. I assume you forgot?
I wonder, since you're using a HC Bravo and already making a custom profile for the aircraft, why not use three axes for the engines since the HCB comes with 4 throttle levers

Without Asobo there wouldn't be a simulator for the MD11 to be in and you'd all be loading up P3D right now. As has been the case since the beginning of time, The guys who make the simulator don't make the best aircraft. 3rd parties like TFDI, PMDG, Fenix etc make aircraft, and Microsoft/Asobo/Lockheed whatever make a planet with an atmosphere and physics to fly in.
I know to fly the md11 since pmdg md11. Compared to pmdg, tfdi md11 is very disappointing. I used tfdi md11 on p3dv4. Guess what, the sids and stars are showing ridiculous patterns, time compression is only 4x (pmdg could achieve 16x time compression), apu switched of when switching of apu switch in electrical panel. Had to start an engine in order to prevent power loss. In mid air, I had to switch of autothrottle and use manual throttle as thrust was continously increasing and decreasing, autoclimb and descent had issue, so had to adjust climb rate manually. VOR and ILS screens are not working. They released a very unfinished product. I could not even land the aircraft. In PMDG MD11, the aircraft was very realistic. Tfdi's othr product Boeing 717 is so realistic.

It's very good, the textures could be a little neater in some areas but not anything you notice without looking closely so all round very good

check your simbrief username, and check you have set up your flight plan in kg or lbs and ensure the aircraft has the same option in the efb
