Heck yeah! I love what you said, it's a gritty, horror/slasher movie that also blends the neon esthetic with truly a terrifying villian. Without a doubt, this is my favorite James Cameron film.
The Terminator is the best "B-movie" ever made. Camerons groundbreaking use of 3D storytelling makes low-budget sci-fi thrillers ie "B-movies" look like Citizen Kane
The best part is how it brilliantly juggles between genres: Thriller, Horror, Noir, Action, Sci-Fi and most of all, Romance. Terminator 2 is a better film, but The Terminator will always be my favourite due to how it masterfully carves its own niche in the field of genre filmmaking.
A big selling point for me is that is finally includes an option for the original MONO soundtrack! It sucks that it doesn't have all the special features that the 2007 Definitive Edition DVD has. That version has quite a lot of special features. I have kept that disk and will be putting in the box of this 4K release.
One of the best movies of all time. I do prefer terminator 2. T2 being my favorite of all time. T1 is right behind it for me. Both the movies get watches more than once a year.
The Terminator is my favourite film overall....yes I have it above T2. Funny story is I have over 400 DVDs, movie's and series boxsets and due to occupation never got round to advancing to blu rays or 4k 😂 probably missing out but I do love my physical media!
First of all, thank you Danny for your generosity! I truly appreciate it! This film is a dang masterpiece, and I highly recommend getting the 4k. It really felt like they did this film justice with the transfer and audio quality. Just wish it had more special features.
@Franksmediaandreviews I've never seen any delated scenes for T1 and only seen few short interviews with cast/crew on set but T2 has significant amount! Both timeless movies imo
Ironically the special features are great on the old 2001 SE DVD, full length in depth making of documentary, interviews, trailers/tv spots and everything.
@@Franksmediaandreviews The features on the blu rays and 4K are heavily edited and abridged for some stupid reason. Get the DVD for the full experience.
I think I'm done with physical media. The prices are too high. A studio will sell a film for $40 in a standard edition to justify the $50 steelbook price. Recently I bought Longlegs and Nightmare on Elm Street at $35 but I can't keep buying at that price. I would have liked to buy The Terminator, Signs and The Sixth Sense but not at these ridiculous prices.
I definitely understand and hear you. I would say buy movies when they're on sale. Simon, do you mind if I use your comment for a potential video? I think labels should see what they're doing and the effect that it's having to the consumer.
@Franksmediaandreviews Thanks bro!!!!!! I thought I was a subscriber and happy viewer of yours for awhile (but I checked and I'm not.... but i am now.... i wonder if youtube unsubscribed me🤔.....I get all of your vids that's crazy but fixed now! !!! Appreciate the love!
If you don't mind me asking, why don't you like those sounds? Do they not sound how you originally remember hearing them? Or is it because they don't have a modern sound?
Awesome steelbook 😮i didn’t see that at my local Walmart
Looks like it's still available on GRUV!
It's best one. I love that gritty b- movie horror slasher neon vibe. They need to go back to that if they make another one.

Exactly, sometimes less is more.

thanks for the chapters!!
No problem!
such a classic flick -- if Gruv gets the steelbook back in stock I will def order one!
Heck yeah! If I see it, I'll try to let you know!
I can’t wait to check it out
It's pretty damn good!
Not been into steelbooks lately but that art is so dope!
It's even nicer in person and it's at a good price at GRUV too!
This and T2 feel like perfect movies to get with steelbooks
It's definitely one of my favorite SyFy horror films just behind Alien #1. Then T2 #1 and Aliens #2 are my favorite SyFy action films.
Hell yeah!

Both are classic films!
We just need this kind of transfer
Your footage looks like it's in vivid mode with soap opera effect turned on.
It's in Cinema Mode, and TruMotion is off. But even if they were on its all about user preference.
Can’t wait to hear what Jon has to say about this transfer.
Me too!

Personally my favorite has always been part 3. Best John Conner and the terminator in that movie is sexy as hell
You're not wrong about T-X!Hey ohhhh! 🤣
You're not wrong about the female terminator being sexy af, but that was the only thing I liked about that movie lol
@@SkemeKOS 🤣 Yup!

What! I gotta get that! With this anniversary release, it should've had more special features.

@ Thanks for letting me know! I wonder why they would edit the special features on the bluray and 4k??
"Kyle Reese". Michael Biehn was cast as Chris in the short-lived The Magnificent Seven TV show.
I didn't know that!
Sci fi classic bit of horror thrown in , absolutely love it look forward to getting my standard edition 💿👈🏻👍🏻 good review mate
Thanks, Stuart! Hope you get your copy soon!
@Franksmediaandreviews my favourite terminator film 📽️👍🏻
@ Hell yeah!

@Franksmediaandreviews Yes, you can use my comment in a video. No problem.
@ thanks! Again, I don't know if I'll make a video, but if I'm able to then I will.
Yes Kyle Reese
Thanks!
I still wanna own part 1&2
There's some good prices on the blurays on Amazon.
Good movie but I’m not buying this until scream factory puts out a 4K
"You're dead, honey."
🤣
Actually The Terminator was released in 1984
Yup, I corrected myself via text form. Bottom center.
🎉 Great review!!!!!!! I reviewed this 4k, too! I would love to have your view!! ❤
Thanks! Just check ked your video out. Just subbed to your channel as well.

I don’t care for the gun sounds and car sounds
If you don't mind me asking, why don't you like those sounds? Do they not sound how you originally remember hearing them? Or is it because they don't have a modern sound?
