Not really. If you put up the argument correct for a dumb person, they will accept you know better than them and are probably correct.
But try to argue with a smart person, that is convinced of something.
Every argument you make, they will think of a excuse for be wrong.
The flat earth people, are not on average stupid.
They are delusional, thinking what they observe is not true,
but that happens when they discover they could not trust what they see.
Same with feminists, they are not stupid, they are just convinced what they see is not the whole truth.
It is easier to convince a dumb person. And if you cant you will only meet "I think you are wrong" as counter.
If you try that with a smart person, they will tell you thier is a giant conspiracy that made you believe in the moon landing.

      @user-rw3ob9os7f let's test this.
Can you use logic to believe in God?

    • @giftcardbill
      @giftcardbill 5 месяцев назад

Respectfully, Yes. The Bible is very logical and proves God's existence and his purpose for the earth. Humans have take the Bible and it's scripture and twisted it with pomp and circumstance and this has shrouded the truth. God's word spells out quite plainly the origin of the Universe, the terraforming and populating of earth. What went wrong because of rebellion in the heavens and Eden. Gen 3:15 spells out what was to take place over centuries, the coming of the Messiah to right the ship, and finally the Great Tribulation and Armageddon, where the Almighty crushes the governments of the earth. Only the ones who wish to live in peace with their fellow man will survive. God can read the heart, thus he knows who is real and whom is not. It's really quite logical, has been accomplished so far step by step and will do so until the conclusion of this system of things. Also those who are allowed to live according to God's insight and love will be rewarded with everlasting life. Life eternal. It's no mystery. Quite forthright and logical.

When I was dating my now husband I was making more money than he was, had my own apartment (he had 2 roommates) and was 10 years older. All my friends thought I was crazy when we got engaged. But I saw things in him that other women didn’t. Women accuse men of being superficial and just looking at the physical but women are no better. Many women look only at material considerations when judging men. I picked my husband based on his character and kindness and have been happy with my choice for over 25 years.
Oh, BTW my husband now makes over 180k and encouraged me to quit my job a year ago. So I did and retired early.

I actually find women to maybe be even More superficial since they do not only ofc as men do look the opposite sex'es looks, but they also a lot of times go on and on about other women too. Literally seen grown women going thru a magazine and picking apart the women in it with what are the flaws and what are the high points. You would never see men do that about men in a magazine.. (in general ofc, talking about hetero males and that not being like a Crazy example of stuff that women do).

On several occasions I have warned my female friends about the guys they were interested in/sleeping with/dating because I can see exactly what kind of guys they are and my friends ALWAYS get defensive and sour, but then when I end up being right they basically pretend like I never warned them. I have spent most of my life watching the girls/women around me make poor choice after poor choice (including relatives) and then blaming all men, and it has destroyed my trust in women.

The last thing emotions will do is admitting that they were wrong. Meaning the feeling was incorrect or out of place. Especially with women you will encounter some that identify to such an extent with their feelings that if you tell them their feeling is wrong you are basically telling them their existence (as a person) is wrong. There's just no difference for them, they are what they feel. Make it make sense...

I noticed something recently when talking to my grandmother - who is a very critical old lady - She hardly ever criticize based on gender. She's likely to write issues up to someone's race mind you, but never gender. My other grandmother was very much the same.
But, then when we get to my mother's generation - you start hearing a lot more negativity towards boys and men. Like "boys fail in school because they are lazy" etc. "Women = good, men = bad."
And then it dawns on my - my mother's generation is the kids who were growing up during the late 60s and 70s when all the social movements were happening. That's really when the "men VS women" narratives began.
Women who were born before WW2 - they weren't raised to hate men, and they seem to generally speak rather warmly of men.
And... feminists get angry when men's activists point out that "hey, maybe the feminist movement has had a negative effect on men?" Because how dare we point out that one of the biggest social movements in HISTORY isn't perfect.

I just listened to her and asked her "do you want to participate in her delusional drama?"....no, she did not. "Well, my position is that her drama is hers and we don't need it. Let her figure it out". We stayed out of the movie she was directing and although it seems to be one of those 5 part mini-series now, my wife told me she is "so happy I stayed out of it". I wouldn't say emotions create your reality. I'd say it's your body's response to said reality.
Therefore they can be wrong, same as with your conscious thoughts. Which is why the skill I think would be great at school is :
Analyzing your emotions. Let them work as your dials. Tell kids that there is part of them that tries to take care of them, and does it behind the curtains, so all we *feel* are results of him trying to care for us. Let them ask "Why would part of me want me to be angry and violent in that situation?" or "Why did part of me want to be happy that moment and laugh" especially where there is something rational that tells them not to listen to it.
Paired with previous examples : "Yes, he broke your toy, but he's toddler. You can't hurt him" and "He's being laughed at. Everyone is picking on him. You should be better".
Emotions in my experience are like this. They orchestrate the neurochemistry so that they can manipulate response of the otherwise rational brain.
In order to "defeat" the emotions you don't want you must first understand as much about your emotions as you can. Because fighting them with brute force is difficult battle that'll leave you without very important tools.
And to understand them, well in my case it's a dialogue not so distant to core gameplay of Disco Elysium. Only I have to guess what my emotions are telling me and watch out for physiological response (I think why is this getting me mad? Is it this, or this or this about it? Once I feel the anger rising up out of the tempo of those thoughts, you have an answer).
The thing is I don't believe we treat are emotions right. We either ignore them, trying to live with rationale alone, and then they hurt us and we grow cold in response.
Or we don't treat them as indicators of our subconscious but as US. Since I want this, therefore I will have it. Impulsivity goes this route. We become the slaves of our emotions.
And the most broad category : We treat them with huge bias. What makes us happy is just part of us. Nothing wrong. Sometimes goes too far, but you can guess when that is with experience. The bad ones? Like anger or sadness? Those we tend to supress, without caring about why those emotions strike, or why so strongly.
Result is we don't know ourselves as much as we'd like, and what's worse, less we could.
Just try it. If you felt strongly about something, sit down and think for a while why it happened the way it happened. Why would your subconscious want your attention right there?
Was it something you could prevent/repeat? Is it something you want to encourage? If not, how to deal with it? It's likely tied to one of many needs, that doesn't go away just because you treated it's symptom.
Thank you for reading all of this,
This is the end of my wall of text TedTalk

I've worked as a bartender on and off for 20+ years. A woman with absolutely ZERO experience will get a job ahead of me in many situations. Mainly in regular bars, as opposed to a restaurant/hotel bar. Where knowledge of liquors, proper mixing, and service with focus matters more. I just accept it, because I know men will come back to a bar over and over if they're attracted to a bartender, no matter the service.

The schools today are telling people what to think, when the only job they were ever supposed to do was teach people how to think. He is correct about emotion being broken in today's society. Truth is that emotions used to be there to warn us of danger, to tell us when something is not right, and most importantly to bridge the gap between individuals. Emotions help us build connections, but these women and children today are being brainwashed by feminists, educators, and socialists who have been taught in college or university that your feelings are all that matter. Feelings are important, but they have to be combined with rational critical thinking. Parents and educators need to teach people how to think for themselves, and stop telling them what to think.

Older people used to marry by proximity ... there were way fewer "options" available, and the families would usually know each-other, so wronging your spouse would have consequences.
Now we meet on apps and have access to the world. Our families remain strangers sometimes up until the marriage which can cause tension ... etc.

You're correct in assuming that relationship requires faith.
But faith in something that can be proven wrong while you're still alive.
If you think you can imagine how it feels to betray that faith in relationship with someone, how much worse would you feel if it turns out even the faith about your soul was badly given?
And lastly : If morals and values we given to you by Christian God, what values and morals have muslims, jews, hindu, buddhists, Shinto, or Aztec deities? What about Greek or Norse pantheons?
My personal problem with God is : Which one? There are too many religions, many claiming that their answer is the correct one.
There can be only one if their claim is correct. So what are the others?
From my point of view, all of them are equally likely to be true. Just as "Shit happened randomly" or "there is universe for every possibility, so the fact we are in one of the working ones is a given".

I used to have a friend that was so delusional that he complained about his job every single time I (or anyone else) talked to him. He described his job as if it were worse than slavery, worse than living in a warzone and being shot at regularly, worse than anything anyone else had ever endured. Here's his job: he sat in a parking booth smoking weed and playing video games and 1-2 times a day had to give someone directions to a nearby building.
That's the funny bit. Now here's the sad bit: 95% of the women I've met in my life are just like him, but he's the only man I've ever met like that out of hundreds.

When the word faith was mentioned, I realized that it will bring up religious views. I don't believe in faith because it's stories written by men and a lot of them aren't based in reality but are very fictional.
For me, I believe in fate. I make my decisions and deal with the consequences of those decisions. I dictate what I do and don't do. God isn't doing this for me. Religion for me is a form of control over the masses to control people and their lives.

    • @LivinRentFreeInUrHead

Although I 100% agree with ur outlook on religion. Problem is u contradict urself. Fate is a predetermined force that sets ur path & well ur fate from day one. You say you make ur choice & let fate decide but that's not how fate works. U have zero say or choice in fate as it is a higher power that decides from day one & u get no say in it. It's almost worse then but very similar to religious views, u follow a path & do what ur told or not told, either way, whatever u do has consequences & in the end you'll only go to one place that's decided by whatever supposed higher power. Fate decides for you just like other people's supposed gods. In the end, ur religious & u just refuse to admit it to urself & others.
