Good afternoon Marvin! What a lovely content.I am planing to become delivery driver,Can I ask you, if I take driving lessons and buy a car, Will I be able to deduct those costs as business expenses when filing for tax with Hmrc ? I never been self employed before, Cheer
Oh, I don’t know the answer to that! You can claim business expenses like clothing and mobile phone bill, but it’s usually only for things that you only use for work - I’m not sure how it would work for training.
If it was you only job, you would use your tax allowance, so you would not have to pay any tax; BUT once you have earned £1000, you still have to register and do a self assessment, and then they would tell you that you don’t owe any tax.
@@marvinsflextips ok thank you. I only started 2 months ago. So where must I register? And yes its good to know that I won't pay any tax. I watch your videos helps alot thank you
@@mikecrampton8857 this tax year runs from April 2021 to April 2022, you need to register for self assessment by October 2022 and submit you self assessment and pay any tax owed by the end of January 2023
Yes, you are self employed, so you have to register for Self Assessment. If you worked before April this year, you need to register for self assessment by October this year and submit your self assessment by the end of January next year. Always keep a note of your mileage, as you use the mileage allowance (45p/mile) to reduce your taxable income.

If you only work weekends surely you wouldn't earn enough to pay taxes. ? As you have to earn £12000 a year to pay tax am I right ?

amazon drivers app 'showing all other offers" I can't see this option?
You only see this option if you have filters set (which hides the offers filtered out)
Hi Marvin
How do I find thr local whatsapp group?
Best to ask drivers when you are at the depot - if there isn’t one, make one :)
are treated as self-employed? if so, is it difficult to get started as self employed?
You are counted as self employed, it’s easy to register online, then you put in a self assessment www.gov.uk/register-for-self-assessment
do you have to do your own tax/VAT?
