I just contacted Admiral after watching this video and they advised that although Amazon cover whilst delivering, I would still be required to take out ‘Hire and Reward’ insurance??!!?!??!
I spoke to them and they told me I just needed basic business to cover me to different places of work. Amazon cover the hire and reward when you have packages.
The recommended flex top up insurance wasn't recognised or compatible with my insurers churchill, asked numerous times and told outright it would void my cover.

With regards to breakdown cover , I drive a London cab and that is a business and they have come out to me loads of times over the years and never had a prob , as I never tell them about a taxi when I renew.
The AA have a strict policy when it comes to the transport/recovery of commercial vehicles. IF you flout those rules and are found to be doing so they can block you future wise from any services they provide AND in some instances can refer to their fraud unit. 👀That can block you from getting other recovery services; services. 👀Their in the field operatives can also refuse their services AND the AA may charge you IF they discover you received services from them OR their service agents et AND you were clearly NOT entitled to those services so provided; they are legally within their rights to recover charges and costs that can run into hundreds of pounds from you. 🙁 It's dumb to believe you can get away with that when in the long term the risks can back fire, with serious and I mean SERIOUS; consequences financially. 🙁 If you are an unlicensed cab driver AND do NOT have the correct insurance to carry passengers et then that also is a serious offence under the law.
I only have one depot near me that’s the only one I get shifts from my normal policy including commuting to a single place of work and if I tell them my second job is Amazon flex will that be ok ?

Yes - still current - Amazon supply the hire and reward insurance through Zurich - Fo an ongoing ‘trial’ period (they will give 60 days notice if they are going to stop doing it) So you just need the relevant insurance to cover to your and from the station(s) I got the basic business insurance that covers me to and from different places of work

This normally isn’t covered by Social domestic and pleasure - may be covered by commuting (but that is normally to 1 place of work - if you do more than 1 depot you really need business) Admiral accept the top up insurance - and their basic business covers the policy holder only to travel to and from different places of work. It wasn’t any more expensive for me than SD&P with C Business: You use your car to drive to places for work - for example, such as switching between sites. It’s not the primary use of the car, but nevertheless, requires a slightly higher level of cover. Business use is divided into two categories: Policyholder only or All drivers - that’s what you need. You can do flex, but you will probably have trouble getting the Hire & Reward insurance you need while delivering. Inshur won’t cover you if you have had your license for less than a year

Yes - that’s why you need business insurance first - as this is what the police will find when they search you reg number. Then you can show them the Zurich insurance that covers you for the hire and reward part of deliveries (you can access the Zurich insurance certificate in the help section of the amazon app)

You can have your normal use insurance with a TOP UP to cover extra usage in other directions.👀 If you were only planning ie a month doing that extra service then you could pay extra ONLY for the month.👀 If the police et do a roadside check ALL they are interested in is that you have documentation with you that is VALID for what the vehicle is being used for. 😗 A registered cab driver OR a business owner using their vehicle for such activities can get his vehicles insured under 'business insurance' that would cover them or their NAMED employees (provided the insurers agree). Hence RED licence or business plates / trade plates will allow ANY nominated driver to drive the vehicle with those plate provided they are LEGITIMATELY allowed to do so.
Hmmm. I tried getting business insurance and got a massive rejection from all insurers as courier in Manchester is a no no basically. So I have tried getting hire and reward because I’ve been told that’s what’s needed but my quote is £2700 annually, yikes. So are you saying hire and reward and business insurance are different because the specialist courier company insurance firm just said I basically need hire and reward. Please let me know thanks

But, I did manage to get a hire and reward quote (although it’s was seriously expensive). In the details it says they will give 60 days notice when the promotion (Free H&R insurance) will end. It’s been running for years, so I don’t think they have any plans on finishing it, but if they do you will get at least 60days notice to find an alternative

Some drivers have been stopped by police - they check you standard insurance using ANPR which will show your insurance for the vehicle, this just lets you show them the Amazon / Zurich insurance cover you have when you have parcels in your car (hire & reward)
You need fully comprehensive anyway, but if you are travelling to more than 1 depot, then social, domestic and pleasure with commuting isn’t enough (as you are travelling to more than 1 place of work) You should really have basic business insurance that lets you travel to different places of work.
So I have sd&p plus business (own) but that does not cover hire and reward so I have the INHUR cover on top. I have quotes for adding hire and reward with admiral and it’s £1000 for the year! If you check the policy with INSHUR it simply says it acts as a hire and reward extension and is comprehensive cover so you do not need to tell your own sdp insurer as you are not claiming against that policy. As long as you have sdp cover then the INSHUR policy covers you.

Yes I told admiral and have deliver driver as second job. It wasn’t any more expensive though.
