I'm an Amazon Flex Driver in the South West region of the UK (This area covers Bristol and Swindon logistics as well as Morrisons in Bristol, Swindon and Gloucester - with a new Morrisons coming online in the next few weeks in Weston-super-Mare)
I will be posting beginners info (like how to use the Flex app) as well handy tips and gadgets I have found useful while delivering.

Amazon don't want you to know this! How to get Increased Rates.
New drivers need to know this! - How to get increased rate blocks. Amazon need their items delivering and they will pay an increased rate if no-one takes a block. The blocks will increase the closer they get to the start time.
Don't take standard rate! Don't take reserves! Keep refreshing on the day to get the best rates.

I’m unable to get the hire and reward insurance but I’m still able to book blocks. So far whenever I get a block I wanna do, I substitute it to a friend and do the block together and we just split the money. Is it ok if I keep on substituting my blocks like this ? Or is is better I contact support and tell them if I can carry on like this ?

Hiya, helpful video mate, the one thing I’m genuinely confused by is if I go with someone like INSHUR for Hire and Reward insurance, this doesn’t allow me to use my car for social and commuting does it? Like still commuting to my day job and such
@@evasionbonus2969 no - inshur is just a top-up, you need standard insurance to cover your every day driving

@@Lionheart_89 most insurance companies won’t insure you for hire and reward if you have had a licence for less than a year (
and they never fixed their most infamous error 610 or as they prefer to call support code 610 - why would their errors as support code when no one at the tech support knows what they are and have zero help when you need one - it's just sad!

@@jamiegodridge6768 Morrisons used to put cold items into the cooler bags (with ice blocks) they stopped them because drivers wouldn’t take them back to the store and would dump them outside. It was a lot easier with the cool bags
It's ridiculous to try and get a shift in my area, soon as they are on there they are gone

@@aesleyrogerbarreto2295 you need hire and reward insurance to cover you while you deliver. You can get a quote with INSHuR through the Amazon app, but you have to make sure your normal insurance will accept the top up. Admiral, Direct line, Elephant and RAC and M&S accept top up
This app is total trash. Am I the only one experiencing this? Menu options come and go, personal settings can't be changed, what the] heck Amazon
I only need 2 days 16 hours because I have another job because the 16 hours Amazon gave me that will cover the rest of my bills so can I do two days 16 hours
@@kevinthomas6924 you can do a max of 8h in a day, so yes, if you can get 2 4h blocks, or a combination of smaller blocks to make 8h then it is possible.
Hi, would you mind me asking, when you've collected your packages from Morrisons, how do you get back out the store again? I've done a few blocks now and usually come back out through the self service checkouts, yesterday when I was trying to navigate 2 trolleys through the self service checkout bit I was told by a Morrisons employee that Amazon drivers should be leaving through the small black gate next to the barriers where customers enter into the store.
It all depends on the store - some have the Amazon area before you get to the security gate when you enter (super easy as you don’t have to actually go into the store) - some are at the back so you have to negotiate the shoppers (better to do 1 trolly load at a time if it’s busy) - I’ve seen some where you go back to the security gate and just wait for someone to come in (so you can get out) and also 1 that sounds similar to yours where there was a small exit where you had to unclip the elastic barrier to exit past the main checkouts. I’ve even been to one where you go through the store, but exit out a separate exit at the side… It’s probably best to ask security at your Morrisons
Hi Marvin please can you tell me how I substitute a block to a family member who has tried to register but had a notification to say not currently taking on delivery partners so how does he complete registration?
I'm having the same problem with a friend of mine. I've substituted a block to him but his app says there not taking on drivers in the area.

You cannot add you phone purchase unless you are register as a company. Also how did you calculated £3000 tax deduction on £4000 earnings and ended up with £1000 taxable income?!?!?!? That is impossible and you perhaps don't know how it works and i suggest stop these advices to people please. Let me know your calculations on fuel deduction on 4000 pounds earning and let me know how you ended up with deducting 3000 on fuel? I am confused. !
I use quick books self employed and it tracks my mileage - I live 30 miles from the logistics depot and 15 miles from the closest Morrisons I do logistics from 2 locations and Morrisons from 3 locations As it’s not a single place of work, I claim the mileage from home to home for each block - the mileage allowance (45p for the first 10k and 25p thereafter) cancels out the tax on must of my earnings I also claim for my software (quick books) that’s paid monthly, along with other expenses like tolls etc. I don’t claim for my phone or phone usage as I’m on an unlimited plan

Have they accepted you into a region? If so, you should see the stations available to you in the filters tab. New drivers often get pushed reserves (just for you) blocks on Fridays The rest of the week it’s just a case of keep refreshing and see what pops up

Ask at the customer help desk, they will probably be able to register you with the parking system so they know that you are working there
What's the best phone to use for Flex?
For grabbing blocks, it’s all about speed, any recent phone will do, make sure you have a descent cover for it as you are bound to drop it while delivering!

Hello, I just got my Uk full driving licence, do I need 1year old driving licence for work in Amazon flex or i can start straightaway? When I’m applying for hire and reward insurance they asking 1 year old license can you help what is the best option for me. Thanks
You can do flex, but you will probably have trouble getting the Hire & Reward insurance you need while delivering. Inshur won’t cover you if you have had your license for less than a year
I’m hoping you see this question, but I’m fairly new to Amazon flex. My son wants to be a substitute for me but how does he register as a substitute? I can’t find out anywhere how you register for it? Do you know. He has registered for his own account but hasn’t delivered as says no drivers required in his area, but he wants to substitute for me when he comes home. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
If he is registered, but not activated, try substituting a block to him it may kick start his account.

How does the checking in process work do you scan both batches at the warehouse? It will only let you scan the assign route
You arrive for the first block and scan the parcels - so the route and then when you come back you get assigned the second route
I haven’t worked out how long before your block it lets you access the map
You can press start travel 1h before the block start time
Do they count the full 3 hours for a 3hr block if you get it done in an hour and a half?
Yes it’s always the full block time, if you go over and get an adjustment, that isn’t included though.

Hi, I've had a list up pick up locations show up on my app asking me to select one, but they're all about an hour away. Do I just wait it out for one more local to come up? Looking at the map on their website they do have a hub more local to me but thats not on the list.. so presumably I sit tight for now? Tried customer service but couldn't get anywhere with it
Amazon is divided into regions, you need to select one of the stations in your region and then the app will show you all of the locations in there

Hi Marvin I need your help with the issue I am facing regarding flex substitute. I have signed up on Amazon flex but when primary account holder sent me a block offer through registered email but it doesn’t work I don’t know what’s wrong with it. It always shows the message whenever I tried to open a block offer Cannot accept the invitation The invitation can only be accepted by the account associated with the email address it was sent to.
Do you use gmail? Amazon sees gmail.com and googlemail.com as different email addresses and this simetimes causes problems

You only see this option if you have filters set (which hides the offers filtered out)

I had to click make a copy and it worked its Brill I now know that sometimes I was trying to get blocks but it hit my max hours and with reserves I couldn't possibly book any more for 3 -4 days so was pointless refreshing the app on certain days!!
