    I do full time amazon in the prime vans, the routing in the app is terrible i suggest to not follow it as you will waste your time. Look on the map and choose which deliveries to do yourself that makes sense instead of driving up and down for no reason

      I'm looking to get into Amazon flex so this is handy to know. Can you move your drops on the apps or are they fixed.
      I deliver with evri and can pre plan my route and edit after parcel scan.

      @@klashnacovak47 you just look on the map, see which is closer to u, for example the app is telling u go to 25 but you see 37 is closer, u tap on the list and tap on 37, now ur delivering 37, after completion tap on 25 again to continue what the app suggested

    From what I’ve gathered, they try and keep the drops on the same side of the road that your driving on, I always look 10ish stops ahead which helps save time

    To change things up a bit take a trip to another city, town next door or even further away and treat it like a day out. If far away away you could stay at a motorway hotel when its a cheaper rate and make a day of it delivering and taking in the site :)

    Reason why the early afternoon routes are numbered like that is because theyre like the excess of the main Amazon drivers, bit of advice for packing them, they have a code on that yellow sticker like A2.3 etc, if theyre 2 different codes split them from eachother, makes it alot easier 🙌🏻

    Yes i agree for delivery is rubbish at the moment that's just no money to be made.
    Is this a self employed job you do? I think amazon and uber should team up and give ebike food couriers (like me ) parcels to deliver, there'd be so much work in that.

    You mention about the same day deliveries being numbered 1,2,3,4,5 etc but from doing amazon for a few years now they tend to be much further distances. Whereas the afternoon blocks that are not numbered 1,2,3,4 but say for example 210,211,213 are more localised and grouped deliveries. I prefer those ones. Im not complaining with the routes but I can smash those out in about an hour plus driving time. The 4 hour ones are all spread out and they take time to do.

    The Sat Nav is a nightmare, its about 10 years out of date, will just send you round in circles and lose you at least 30mins on a route.
    Really annoying! Amazon need to update it to an AI version i recon asap.
    Also re your vehicle you will need it capable of soaking up Country lanes, Potholes, Gravel and farmland!
    Ideally a 4/4 , People carrier, Van , Range Rover or Tractor would be ideal!
    An ordinary car will need new suspension system within 6 months!

    Annoyingly I signed up to, and was accepted quickly by Flex, last year but didn't get my insurance sorted until this month and going back to Flex I'm apparently no longer able to claim blocks. It let me apply for SW England though so clearly they need more people down there.

    Hi pal, I love the videos. I've just got into the gig business myself. Any advise on how to claim for mileage ect? I've noticed you take it off, then show your profit. I've seen conflicted ideas on how this works. Some claim you are taxed on everything and then claim back 40p per mile for 10k, then 25p for the rest. I've also just learnt that you need to prove your mileage. As you can probably imagine my head is spinning at this lol. Thanks pal.

    • @autohustles
      @autohustles  3 месяца назад

      Cheers mate. So my calculations at the end are purely to show my profit after expenses for the shift. They aren’t the numbers used for tax returns. Like you said, we get 45p per mile deducted off our taxable income. But in reality, I don’t spend 45p per mile on expenses. When it comes to tax returns, my income is the pre-expenses amount of income I’ve taken through the apps. Expenses are miles x 45p (then 20p after 10k miles). That produces your taxable profit, which is often less than the profit you’ve actually made which is good for us. Hope that helps!

    • @Busman3991
      @Busman3991 3 месяца назад

      @autohustles That helps massively, thank you. Do you need to prove your mileage to HMRC? Sorry for the follow up question!

    • @j700jam4
      @j700jam4 2 месяца назад

      Tge 45p per mile factors in petrol, wear and tare, servicing and repairs etc which makes things easier. You can also do it by claiming all the repairs, servicing etc and dividing it into private and business mileage and then claim tge percentage off the bills.

      Most gig work apps point you towards insurance providers you can use, most recommend Zego or Inshur, but some of the normal well-known car insurance companies allow you to add on H&R insurance too - most important thing is you get insurance that covers the type of deliveries you're making. And no, that sticker is just my parking permit for where I live!
