I'm vegan and falafel sandwiches (in pita bread, a baguette, or a wrap) are a frequent favourite-even before I went vegan. I'm glad you liked it. Next time, in your choice of toppings , ask for some tabouleh (pronounced ta-boo-lee). It's a refreshing parsley salad made with a little diced tomato, cracked wheat, and lemon juice, goes great with falafel balls and hummus (the ground chickpea/lemon/garlic paste) and tahini sauce (the creamy ground sesame seed sauce with garlic, lemon juice, salt, and water). It sounded like you said there was cheese in it. That's not traditionally included. Maybe you were confusing the hummus and tahini for cheese. There's usually a homemade hot sauce available, if you like spice. And ask for some red or white cabbage salad in it too. And it's Middle Eastern, not Eastern European 😂. I'm just kind of shocked at the prices in your videos. it seems British takeaway is bloody expensive, compared to Canada!
That guy is charging alot to be fair. I live in London, probably one of the most costly areas in the UK and u can get 5 falafel for £1, wraps 3.50. Known for being super cheap. Seems like the guys westernised it, maybe the locals aren't open to trying new stuff there and prices he's averaged out probably with rival Street vendors. Plus in the UK halloumi is quite expensive because of shipping I've heard, not the best either they preserve it in something (that's why he gets that squeeking sensation, it's alot more rubbery texture than traditional halloumi) so maybe the prices are higher than usual because he got that added.
