From the UK and I've become obsessed by the idea of the Irish Spice Bag, simple, elegant, unapologetically for the working man (very) early on a Saturday morning. I want one!
Nasty wants to bring them to the UK one day
@@ScranNaasty I literally went and got the ingredients from the supermarket this morning to make one (obsessed I tell you!), hope i do it right. Although not being fussy seems to be part of the deal which is fair enough.
I hope the ISB doesn't become gentrified, keep it greasy and honest folks - Have a good Xmas over in Eire!
How was it?@@Bosspigeon230
@@Bosspigeon230hey how did your spice bag turn out and happy new year to you.
@@paulkielty3800 Same to you...!
Very, very good.
It's now going to become a staple or fixture or whatever...
'The Scranbag' is on!
Looks bleeding massive 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Our mouths are watering 😂
New subs.
We are going to attempt this tonight 😅
Thank you naasty appreciates it 👍✅
Only option is to make my own, living on an island in the south pacific!
Ohhh love that , yes only option but won’t disappoint ✅👍
You've provided a text-book-perfect method for spice bag prep...easy to set up for, very clear in every aspect of cooking and the end product looks like more enticing than most restaurants would provide...(I was searching online for spice bag mixes and such but after seeing you make yours there's no need to; you prepared this effortlessly with attention to every little detail...perfect, uncrowded frying & then draining of the chicken makes a big difference as you've shown...) ✨🤙🏼✨
This was a great comment to wake up to, thank you really appreciate it glad you like 👍✅ I can’t wait to eventually do a new and improved one when the time is right as I actually missed out on a few small little things hahaha
Thanks! Irish Spice Bags is all the rage like Oklahoma Smash Onion Burgers were last year. Your method looks particularly good because it's so simple, as it should be

Nothing better that good curry

amazinggg
Damn near watched some Yankie fool bang on about a spice bag for 16 minutes when you did it under 5 and made tons more sense than that doughnut. And by the look of your channel, you got more skills too.
Subbed.
Naasty appreciates this message 👍👍✅✅
Limited Baltic mentality, perhaps ?
Terrific. Thanks 🙏🏻
No problem, thank you 👍✅
I'm in Canada now but many years ago there was a chippy in Southport that did this but I don't think it was as good as yours looks. I make my own here and nobody even knows what I'm talking about, their loss. Thanks for posting this one
It is truly their loss and no problem, thank you for the kind words stay naasty👍✅
This was class mate, thanks very much.
Nice one mate appreciate it 👍✅
Class. I'm going to try it. Good luck with the channel. I've subscribed
Appreciate it man 👍✅

Love this. So the closest think I think I used to have when I was a student over at Leeds was salt and pepper crispy chicken strips + chips (both prepared together and served in the same bag) with a side of curry sauce.
Naasty loves to hear it 👍✅
love spicebag, wish we had them in hk
Shocked they’re not already to be honest
NICE.
Naasty says thanks 👍✅
As a South African, i totally comprehend everything you said in this video, by the way great recipe definitely gonna try this one, knowing the spices you using i can smell them already. 🫡
Naasty loves to hear it 🫡🇿🇦
Have had these in Scotland for about 60 years or so and been in Liverpool since the 1960s (originally was the Cantonese community there that started the salt-pepper-chilli season mix), though each time I've seen an Irish version I've always thought it lacked seasoning - yours is the first which would get a pass here though lol.
Ingredients pretty much identical to what we use as well, though we also add in szechuan pepper and peppercorn, and also go a fair bit heavier on the chilli and five-spice.
You guys opt for the battered chicken strip, though here probably most popular is the battered chicken balls. Another thing you can do is marinade the chicken in the fridge for a few hours before battering and frying. Sweet and sour marinade goes really well with the season mix, it's pretty fire.
Hahaha thanks for the pass , I know the Chinese takeaways started in England, Ireland just copy’s off uk Chinese fast food so I was shocked when I moved to England and the Chinese’s wore awful I couldn’t believe it. I’ve heard Scottish Chinese takeaways are sooo nice and the best by far I need to try them.
No you havent had them in Scotland lmao. Clown
Where did you get that oriental curry from??
I got it from my local eurospar and the centra’s near had it as well. Mayflower curry sauce is a good substitute if you can’t find it 👍✅
Quality
Appreciate it ✅👍
Did u ever do one in an air fryer?
I haven’t. My air fryer isn’t big enough and I like frying the chicken to make it close to a Spicebag. If you did it in the air fryer and still used all the seasoning of course it will be a delicious healthier version of it 👍✅
@@ScranNaasty thanks for reply. I'm doing the eat right for your blood type "O" week one, heavy duty 😅 interesting if u look into it. But ask ur Dr what's Yr blood type and see the reaction. Thay don't want u to know. Fellow Dub here ♥
Everything tastes better with MSG.
Indeed it does mate ✅👍
Chicken Toys
Hahahahah
This video needed subtitles! 😂
Hahahahahah understandable
Naasty has thick Dublin accent 👍✅
@@ScranNaasty And i love it! 😆
@@ananigma7 love to hear it
For me there is no need for msg
I’m just cooking it with the ingredients they use in a Chinese takeaway, of course you can use it without MSG but you’ll be missing that umami flavour .
NOT a spicebag doesnt have Curry in it.
Doesn’t have curry?
