As a Zimbabwean i am happy about the way you are speaking so nicely about Zimbabwe. All Zimbabweans gather here and give respect to these legends. I remember watching Too Gear Botswana Special and you started right by the boarder and always thought to myself wish these 3 could shoot in Zimbabwe, and you did. You are legends!
“I hope…… we’ve given you a bit of happiness” James May during the final scenes of One for the Road. What a colossal understatement, these 3 were the single best thing on TV for the last 22 years. You 3 will be very, very sadly missed. I’m so glad you could end such an entertaining partnership on your terms, at a time of your choosing. You 3 deserved that chance, after giving literally millions of people around the world such brilliant entertainment.
@renaultclio2671 but, you literally don't know that though. You're jumping to this conclusion based on what? You immediately shut down what I said, based on what? You ignore the possibility of what I said based on what?
I can’t describe how much this trio has given to me during my childhood. If Mr. may, Mr. Hammond or Mr. Clarkson ever reads this, I would like to give you the biggest thank you of my life. You made me the person I am today and has brought many laughs to both me and my family, you guys taught me English. Thank you.
I don't think these guys understand what they did for people around the world. How They really changed the landscape of TV. They left us great memory's of our lives over the last 20 years. We thank them all for the bottom of our ❤
I started watching these guys when I was 13. I’m not 32. They’ve been in my life for 2/3 of it. The only other people who have been in my life that long or longer is my parents and sister. I knew this day would come eventually but it is a bitter sweet ending to a wonderful trio.
Words can’t describe how much I’m gonna miss these legends. Thanks so much for helping me through tough times via your shows and I’m still going back to watch the old videos. ❤
Quintessentially British Legends. I remember watching them on Top Gear as a child and I'm just grateful they got the opportunity to keep being mad lads on The Grand Tour, the chemistry of these guys is unmatched.
Watched the first top gear these guys were apart of as a trio when I was 16 with my dad, I'll be finishing watching them with my own 13 year old. Thanks for everything guys, its been fantastic.
I remember being a kid in school staying up late on a Sunday to watch Top Gear and now I'm a 30 year old man. We grew up together. Thanks for the memories, thanks for the entertainment, thanks for this amazing ride.
Well said, and maybe it's time that we dared to be ourselves, instead of needing to watch others being how we wish we were more like. Seems like we've got no choice anymore anyway.
I grew up with you guys ever since I was a kid, and I remember watching you on the sofa with my grandad who is no longer with me and you gave me that memory of him. YOU helped me through many dark times in my life when I thought I had nothing to live for and you were always there to cheer me up. From the bottom of my heart thank you for your work and I wish you good luck for the years to come in your many other ventures. We all hope we can see you all together on the small screen very soon. Maybe on Drivetribe? x
Jeremy and james sold their shares in drivetribe to richard. James made his own channel, and jeremy, well, we all know jeremy is still on contract with amazon.
Going back 20 odd years or so, if you ever found yourself at a party where you didn't know anyone and there was that awkward moment when nobody knew what to say, the question, 'Did you watch Top Gear last week?' would guarantee a way to start up a conversation. Every Time.
Unless you're this one random guy who used to turn up to house parties in my village, "I don't watch that rubbish, I prefer 5th gear". I mean 5th gear was good but what a twat.
These three are so so so special. In my life, I’ll never get to grow with a group the way I did with them. Over 20 years they’ve made me laugh, molded my opinions, taught me lessons, showed me how clever the art of language could be. They’ve made mistakes and came out on the other side better for it. They’ve given me something to look forward to when my own tunnel may be a bit too dark to see the end of on my own. They gave me a peek inside of a life I’ll never have the fortune to know myself and let me enjoy staying for a short while. I’m grateful they’re each continuing to put out content, but the three of them together is something I’ll cherish forever.
Being born in the late 90’s, the work you three has done has been one of the only things I can genuinely say I’ve grown up with and seen you grow with me. Thank you so much, my life was a lot more entertaining with you three in it. Thank you so much.
One Day I was watching BBC CANADA and I saw this car show called TOP GEAR back in 2008 I had never seen any car show like this, and I instantly fell in love with you guys You opened my eyes to all types of cars made across the world and I thank you for bringing me so much joy in my life.
Thank you for 22 years of absolute joy, entertainment, laughter and iconic moments that I’ll never forget. There will never be a better car programme than the ones you 3 did. Nothing will ever come close. Goodbye gents it’s been a blast 🫡
What joy you guys brought into thousands of homes around the world , you crossed language barriers like no politician ever could, your car, travelogue , comedy , cocking about show will be remembered and enjoyed for years to come. Cheers guys, good luck, you will be missed by millions
I am NOT ready for this. I grew up with them, they helped me go through some really dark times and I'm gonna miss them like I miss some of my good friends I no longer see. Again... I'm not ready for the Trio to be over.
It's crazy how I've been watching these 3 work together almost my entire life. :( So sad that you have to end the show now but..thank you for doing it for so long, you three will always be the greatest presenters of all time.
never will there ever be any trio that will have this kind of chemistry ever again. thanks chaps, for being part of a lot of peoples' lives since childhood to adulthood.
Thank you so, so, so much guys for being part of the vast majority of my adult life. Thank god for streaming etc, so I get the repeats as much as I possibly can.
I didn't discover what an absolute treasure these three are together until a few years ago. Since then I've watched every single episode of their Top Gear stint plus The Grand Tour. These three together are absolute magic.
I watched Top Gear when it was Jezza, Quentin Wilson, Tiff Needal and Vicky Butler Henderson. Watched it when the dream team was born… my family and I often watched the repeats at Christmas…and they have made me laugh so much… The Grand Tour has got me through some very tough times. I’ve loved every minute of watching their adventures and antics. We’ll never see the likes of them again. Thank you boys. Thank you.
But the original Too Gear as Fifth Gear, was a totally different concept. A proper, well formatted car review show. Top Gear from 2002 onwards with this trio was more about the joy the cars bring to those who love them, the dream car from our childhood, adventure, touring, having fun, comradeship. A lot of scripting as Jeremy admits here, but fun, and a lot of groundbreaking entertainment ways. It was an audiovisual delight as well. The takes, the music, everything was unique in a motoring show.
I discovered this trio after they moved to Amazon and then I went back and watched their older Top Gear stuff and fell in love. Wishing them the best and thanks for all the laughs and allowing me to travel the world vicariously.
Forever icons in the history of cars. You guys are the core reason why I now and will always love cars from the 1st day Top Gear telecasted on TV in Ghana in the early 2000s. I live in the UK now and I will be tearfully joyful if I ever set my eyes on any of you while walking around London or anywhere around the country. You’re my biggest heroes in the motor world 😢❤

My fellow fans, Like many of you, I’ve been watching these three for years. Life has changed a lot since then. Loved ones have gone. New, important people have come into my life. I’ve moved across continents. Everything feels different. Life isn’t bad at all. But there’s no escaping the feeling that a significant chapter has now closed. When I first started watching Top Gear, the world was a different place. Looking back, seeing how much has changed since then, makes this ending hit harder than I ever thought it would. These three entertainers, idiots, heroes; made life better. Not just for me, but for so many of you. All it took was turning on the TV and watching them do what they do best. i'm very late to the party, but I have been having these guys for 5 years (which isn't a lot) from watching the grand tour and then binge watching top gear and watching the grand tour again. i love these guy's banter and some of their unhinged opinions on the world and to say what people think are on their minds. i remembered the first ever clip I saw of clarkson was his top gear psa on train crossings back in 2010 when I used to like trains. this chemistry is unmatched.
It has been a pleasure being part of your journey, the memories you have provided for millions of people is just priceless ... the last show was a fitting end (for now) to your time together 👍
Just watched it, fantastic send off. Ending the final special in the place they did the first special.. James and Jezza seeing the Lancia and Merc they did the Botswana trip in again got me a little teary eyed. Thanks for everything lads 💙
Greatest trio......When I can get my old man to stay awake long enough (he's old :)) I put one of these specials on and just watch him howl with laughter. They are brilliant. I hate when things end but they deserve whatever they want....
someone once said to me watching top gear on a sunday evening, was like stealing an hour that didnt exist when a season was on. i dont think i will evevr have that 49th hour again now. thanks lads, dont be strangers for to long
This Friday, after work, I'll be going home and watching the final episode. I may need to take the rest of the weekend to process the fact that there'll be no more.
Thanks for everything you all have done…I cried like a baby watching that last episode….You will all be dearly dearly missed remembered and beloved by all of your fans forever
Never cried this much in my life. The desert scene shed a tear but by the outro I was balling. A full grown man. Thanks for growing up with me gentlemen. The impact you have left will never go away
I know they probably wont read this but I wanted to thank you Jeremy, Richard and James. I basically grew up watching your show and enjoyed every minute of it. The way you were in the show always made me feel as if I was with you, sincerely thank you from me and from my family you all were wonderful and you are irreplecable. We love you always.
Just watched it. Hit me hard. Been watching them from day one. 22 years 😢 I was in my last year of primary school when they first started together. Now I’m married with 2 children, 3rd on the way, been through college, uni, bunch of jobs. Where does the time go? I’m gonna miss them. Thanks boys.
From watching these three on top gear with my dad every week here in Australia to watching them on Amazon with my own kids such a awesome career thank you for many years of laughs and smiles
They should do one final series of Top Gear to properly close it out. Just a mere eight episodes, maybe ten. But, don’t think that I’m ungrateful for 23 years of having something in common with a few hundred million people around the world. We all enjoyed, admired, and could talk to each other about TG and GT. The end places us in an awkwardly emotional location we don’t want to be in. The landscape is emptier and the words don’t come easy. Thanks.
My heart breaks with joy as I was fortunate enough to be along for the ride the last 22yrs. Thank y’all for shaping my life and bringing joy to the world.
Thank you for all the years of the best entertainment and keeping my life afloat and happy in dark times. You guys were the only ones I’ve never met that were able to do that. Thanks. And have a good life ahead of you three❤
You 3 have been a part of my life for many years! Thank you for creating the absolute best automotive/adventure show ever. Your chemistry will never be matched. Thank you again with love
I’ve been watching these guys since before I can remember. If there is one show that has defined and explained almost all my life choices. It’s these guys. From the first car I ever bought (‘18 bmw 540i), to cracking open that forza Motorsport 4 disc and hearing clarkson’s voice. Or even before with need for speed most wanted. In the last almost 21 years of my life, I have never had a show be as comforting as this one. It reminds me of all the people I love, the few I’ve lost, and everything in between. They defined me as a person, and I can’t thank them any more for who I’m growing up to be. I’m going to make sure my kids will watch this when I get older.
During my youth I had a laptop and Top Gear s1 to s14. It got me through so many dark times. And I was soooo extremely happy when they announced The Grand Tour. As far as art/culture/entertainment, Along with my favorite band Nirvana, this trio(JC, RH, JM) are to me the greatest, funniest, most impactful and important thing to happen in my life.

Greatest trio......When I can get my old man to stay awake long enough (he's old :)) I put one of these specials on and just watch him howl with laughter. They are brilliant. I hate when things end but they deserve whatever they want....

This Friday, after work, I'll be going home and watching the final episode. I may need to take the rest of the weekend to process the fact that there'll be no more.
Thanks guys. Been a part of my life for over 20 years.😢 been a good run.

Thanks boys.
best trio on tv ever, thanks for everything Jezza, Hamster and Capt. Slow
Thanks guys. You have brought me much laughter over the years. 😊
I got "old" with these gentelmen. :D Just a big THANK YOU for all the entertainment and knowledge.
Have watched every top gear and all of the grand tour, years of brilliant laughs,
brothers in arms @ the end was classic, thanks a lot lads
From watching these three on top gear with my dad every week here in Australia to watching them on Amazon with my own kids such a awesome career thank you for many years of laughs and smiles
Zimbabwe is beautiful indeed....
We are all happy to have experienced this, thank you.
I cried a lot. A LOT. Thank you, Ckarkson, Hammond and May.
Thanks for the memories lads. Just brilliant. You will be missed ❤
You guys gave me and my dad lots to bond over love you guys
BRILLIANT. You will be SOOOO missed. Thank you lads.
Thanks for everything blokes
During my youth I had a laptop and Top Gear s1 to s14. It got me through so many dark times. And I was soooo extremely happy when they announced The Grand Tour.
As far as art/culture/entertainment, Along with my favorite band Nirvana, this trio(JC, RH, JM) are to me the greatest, funniest, most impactful and important thing to happen in my life.
