Afternoon tea for me, when I was a kid, was around 5 in the afternoon at home on a weekend usually with an uncle or grand parent guest. A simple freshly prepared salad with quality ham, homemade bread, pickles and dinky pork pies from a local pork butcher and for us kids all washed down with lashing of Corona pop. Then a vanilla slice for pudding. Doctor Who then bed. It doesn't get much better! Happy days.
That's not afternoon tea - that's a high tea!

This proves you generally get what yo pay for.... Best picnic I’ve ever seen and realistically enough for 4 adults.
So £8 per person is reasonable. Need the thermos, earl grey and a nice tartan rug.

@rory clynes If you were to buy that stuff from a supermarket you'd be about £20 so by the time you add the drinks and take into account it's better quality and a cafe needs to pay VAT that the supermarket doesn't it's probably about right pricewise.
I mean there is at least £16 worth just in cakes if you were to buy them individually from a bakery.

Cameraman is his son and apparently Danny does all the editing himself. From what we see with his eating, other than the drive, I doubt there's "hours" of recordings. You tell that every moment is a natural one with Danny.

If you watch his Q and A video he explains that he is a big fella anyway but he is being careful about his calories so this food is taken instead of a meal, its obviously not a diet but i see what he is saying. He is a jewel on youtube isnt he.

The delight on his face when he noticed the custard in the cream horn made the hunger pangs I felt while watching this video worth it.

my son lives in Ohio, went out 4 years ago and married an American gal, in Dublin Ohio there are 3 places that serves traditional English afternoon tea, they love it for special occasions or date days

I live in Morley and there loads of free parking in Morley Morrisons car park one opposite market entrance just knowing where. Love nigellas highly recommend others are Caffè Moments too. Be careful if parking in BnM car park but if you buy something in store over £5 you get free parking anyway. Thank you for showing off our beautiful Yorkshire town.

@@999jay999 Nope if you actually watch the video you can very clearly see he is outside, not inside. You are currently allowed to go inside to get your food but must eat outside. Some places provide outside seating.

What I really love about this channel is how Danny is doing more to highlight English cuisine than anyone has in a long time... for some reason the rest of the world thinks English food is poor & we basically just eat Fish and chips... Danny is teaching the whole world that this isn't the case

You know, the most amazing thing about this channel, aside from how entertaining he is, is how much that table and chair I think has contributed to the channel exploding as it has. Seeing him sitting out on a sidewalk in a thumbnail is what made me start watching.

Lunch around noon, dinner in the evening (5 or 6 o'clock). Had a discussion with friends who say lunch is actually dinner, evening meal is supper. We're in the US, so we don't do tea at all!
