Thanks for watching, everyone! If you enjoyed the video, be sure to check out Scruffy Lookin RGB, he goes on a lot of game hunts here in Japan and he does a lot of videos on modding and restoring retro games. You can check out his channel here ruclips.net/channel/UCoaGQNX0940DjY8vIqNSDaw and let him know that Jim sent you!
Hey ks i am a new channel doing the same thing that you do on a lesser extent is there a way i can contact you?
I really appreciate the fact that places like these still exist. Unfortunately, the nostalgia tax in the US has made retro collecting an expensive hobby.
A lot of places here also have that nostalgia tax, shops like Mandai Shoten and Hard Off are the hold outs that keep things pretty reasonable.
He's back. All you have to do, is ask, "Super Mario Bros 3" on NES. Now your playing with POWER!
North America in general is crazy
I almost enjoy watching the journey to the destination more than the actual games.
That's most of the fun of making these is getting out there and doing some exploring.
It’s to bad they don’t have places like this in America.
So great to see you 2 together. Looking forward to joining you guys later. And what a great store!
Also, new Game Hunting videos from KidShoryuken, Scruffy & RetroMoments in 1 day.
What a time to be alive! I know I shouldn't be the one saying that but oh well :D
RetroMoments thanks man once you are back in Japan good times will be had by all👉🇯🇵🙏🙏🙏
Big thumbs up for the colab and also for using Densha de GO music as intro. Looking forward for more episodes like this one.
I used to live in Kofu, Yamanashi and on the way to work in a nearby city called Ogasawara, there was a Mondai Shoten. We all called it “Mummy’s Ghost” from the old movie sign above the entrance.
Till this day, it is still the best store I’ve been to. Loads of games and everything. Very cool decorations. I spent about an hour+ there each time I went. I’ll have to check this one out too!
I'm definitely going to be visiting more Mondai Shoten locations, this one was awesome. First thing that impressed me was the life size Predator statue they had. :)
Two titans of game hunting, together at last!
Game Hunting Titan! I like the sound of that 👍 thanks man🙏
I really enjoyed the Densha de go music at the beginning, and also the trip to find games, we want more 😉
Glad you and Sruffy Looking RGB got meet up. I really enjoy his channel as well thanks to you!
How exciting scruffy and Jim, powers combine like voltron!
Thanks bean soup that is an awesome complement.
I frickin love these. Jim, my man in Japan. Thanks as always!
Glad you enjoy them, thanks for watching!
Two of my favorite guys in Japan in the same video! The world has gone crazy...in a good way.
This!
Gargoyles Dan thank you for the kind words my man.
The Game Boy game with the vegetables is called Totsugeki! Valetions, also known in the West as Spuds Adventure. Great adventure game!!
Andres thanks for the low down on this one🙏
relaxing as always...keep it going
Whoa, sweet find. Thanks for showing it 😊😊😊
Thanks! now I know what shop I can check out next time
Nice use of the Densha de Go! Music in the intro you've found a real gem in this new store ☺
You came through once again Jim, well done!
Thank you!
That store is amazing !! 😙
Must check out Mandai Shoten . I hope they branches outside Saitama
loved the collab!
You know... No one's channel is quite like yours. It has an atmosphere and depth to it, that I just love. That Pantera beanie reminds me... Have you heard Phil Anselmo's black metal project, Scour? Damn good, even though I'm kinda meh on him as a person lol. God damn, I need so many of those supfam games sheesh!!! Pop n Twinbee is awesome... Get it!
Love the intro bits with you on the train and walking the streets. Surprised to see you looking for a place to buy an SD card. I envision Japan as a place they grow on trees. Or at least a place where you can get an SD card from a vending machine or 7/11 on every corner.
I already have a ton of SD cards but on this day I made the genius move of not putting one in my camera. Luckliy, they were just one of the many things they sell at Mandai Shoten.
Great video! Nice to get a look at some Gameboy games.
Wow, I would need a big backpack, if I went to that shop!
Retro game hunting is awesome greatvideo vide Jim
Excellent and thxx to share with Us ..
I watch the two channels. The retro hunting videos are awesome.
Thanks metal hero🙏
So I go to learn about where this store is located and wiki tells me “Saitama is a prefecture in the Kantō region.” ..... Before today, I honestly had no idea Kantō was a real place.
Yep, the Kanto region encompasses seven prefectures.
Those neo geo CD prices make me sad. We can't get them for anywhere near that cheap.
5:57 Already starting off good with Ayanami Raising Project on the Dreamcast, and then a bunch of Eva figures at 6:21. Safe to say that as an Evangelion fan (and retro game fan of course), I'd LOVE this place.
Love these videos 👍
Ooo... this store is going on the 'TO VISIT' list. =)
they bumping 2pac to live and die in la in apan how awesome is that.
A trip to Japan would be a dream for me. Sadly, I don't think I'll ever have enough money to go.
great bro, excited to make the content🔥
Dream-Team!
Good music, entertaining ads and a lot of games! What else can one wish for Saturday :-) Nice teamwork!
So true!
Thank you!
Amazing Snatcher tshirt.
hah this is the complete Opposite of the one where i went recently also in Saitama. game prices are pretty High compared to other shops and the condition was not that good. i am working on the video to upload maybe if i can. So its a toss up depending on where you go and compared to Tokyo its not that bad. but compared to handoffs in Saitama its high. the hokuto no ken on PS2 is about 32 in most places i see it in hard-off. Anyway always good to find more places to get retro games. Great video.
I'm going to this store tomorrow because of this video. Gonna take an hour+ from Fussa but it appears it's going to be worth it.
Happy hunting. :)
@@MadPanicGaming I want to go cruising for games with you guys!. You know my buddy TokyoJo!
Your music is awesome do you have a spotify playlist??
Great content as always 👌
Famicom or NES. Now your playing with power; *DOUBLE POWER!!*
finally hunting game again
Great channel. Glad I found it. I wanted to ask Kid Shuroyuken, do stores like Hard Off sell US games too? I see mostly Japanese games in your videos. Just curious if they have Us games too and do they have a big selection or a tiny one?
Great video, Jim! Music selection was extra choice. Any thoughts on making Spotify playlists for us to enjoy?
22:17 any know what's the name of that game at the left with 3 ninjas on them?
Another amazing shop. Japan seems to have so many retro games where as in the UK shops have little stock and if you talk to friends and work colleagues it is always "I threw all that away". Are they much more likely to donate or trade-in in Japan? I try to get my friends to donate or trade in, but most are not willing to. It is quicker and easier to just throw it away. At the moment it's DVDs, if you go to the dump you will see people throw away big boxes full of DVDs as the trade in value is often just one penny for a DVD.
my dream to visit japan, hopefuly one day i will
Hey where did you get your info about ClockWerx being made by Doug Tennapel? When the Tetris creator's on the back of the game. 13:59 in your video.
Yeah, for some reason I thought Doug Tennapel worked on it, probably thought of him when I saw the claymation characters. I looked it up and apparently Alexey Pajitnov didn't have anything to do with it's development either, he just endorsed it and the publisher slapped his face on it.
@@MadPanicGaming haha thanks for the clarification.
Where is the location of this shop?
I am a bit worried I haven't seen any GBA players for Gamecube on these types of videos lately. Are they becoming scarce or its just not something you want footage of? I was thinking of picking up 2 units when I visit next.
I’ve heard the best place to get games would be Hard-Off
Bro I need to find some of this music. It's so chill and relaxing. Please help me? Especially the music in your Hard Off vids.
Looked like xbox 360 Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi for 20 dollars which is a great deal as often 50 dollars on ebay. I would have loved that! Did you really only buy 1 game when there was so much good stuff in that shop ?????
Hey @kidshoryuken what's the name of the BGM at 0:30 ?
Where is the "scruffy looking" quote from please?
ruclips.net/video/Q3DXMVZiVpc/видео.html
@@stickeerich7153 thank you!
hard to find bargains anymore imo all games/recycling shop price wise is almost the same, the box sfc are pretty good though considering train , bus fares and time taken not much of a bargain :)
Just what is that tune starting at 4:50? Quite the banger
Wait wait wait..... was that a boxed ocarina of time for $6???
If you want to go little bit more far You should go to book off in ofuna it’s a very good place for game I use to go very often, another one in Hiratsuka there is an amazing game shop called doki doki
Thank Yo
That potato game is like $300 cart only in the USA
How will you know if famcom games support english language?
This would be my motivation to learn how to read Japanese. There are just too many great games for great prices available.
No better time than now to get started!
Do you Sell gameboy Advance?
Mind if I use this in a video?
So depressing. Image Fight for $15, Rumble Fish for $35, geez. I just paidnlike $52 for Image Fight and I want Rumble Fish, but it doubled in price here and is like $60 -$70
it just kills me seeing Japanese versions of games like Chrono Trigger...FF 6 ...."Earthbound"...and they are like 5 bucks. and the western prices are ridiculous ! i mean i know why obviously....but its still ridiculous lol
Awesome Jim. Now all is left is to see you in video game competition. They might as well give to the 1st place prize. 8^)
Anthony..
Nice vidéo as Always.. Is it far far from Central Tokyo Shinjuku? And IS it really worth the trip for game boy, famicom consoles and games ?
Thanks
man dunno about this obnoxious loud music ..
Question: I've looked at the patreon, the thing is I own most of the games I want to own for each console. I have maybe 70 games I want for all my retro consoles. Could I just shoot you a couple hundred dollars a month and you could send me a game or two here and there when you find something? Instead of picking a console. I mean the price difference is like 30 -50% lower than what I am paying so even if you keep a chunk for yourself I would be doing better.
I'm the same. He got me a couple of bits once upon a time. My standard of condition was a bit high I think though. I was very happy with what I received though.
You can indeed do that. Submit a list of what you want and I'll stretch your dollar. If you'd like to sign up, I'll message you to get your requests along with your shipping info.
@@MadPanicGaming sign up to a 200 dollar plan or the patreon.
@@atomiswave1971 There's a $200 tier on the Patreon page, that's probably the best way to go about it. Patreon takes a small cut every month, but it's a convenient way to keep a record of how much people spend, easily keep in touch, and it's easy to give refunds if need be.
@@MadPanicGaming sounds fair. I'll look into it after Christmas
