HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 окт 2024
- On a spring day, cherry blossoms in full bloom, I went to the neighborhood of Musashi Sakai in west Tokyo to do some exploring, enjoy the day and hunt down some retro games at the local Hard Off. Good times.

I would have fainted in there 🤣🤣🤣 I'd definitely picked up that 3do
Awesome selection in this Hard Off!
Glad to see that the Gamecube games are not rising in price!
I've missed the : "Hel lo every boddyyy, Jim Here"
I missed saying it, lol.
ohh my word, that blows every independent game store ive ever been in out of the water, the only thing we have in america even close to that is a place called movie trading company, and its mostly dvds and vhs, but they do have a small but robust video game section
Jim, just wanted to say thank you for all your content. It shows all the effort you put into your videos. The images of the area are interesting and the Japanese spring is beautiful. I like that the focus of your channel is still retro. Many channels have switched to modern games and they really do become copies of each other. In short, one of my favorite channels. You deserve way more subscribers and support.
Thank you, that's very much appreciated. With time and effort, perhaps those subscribers will come.
Nice to see Cherry Blossoms in full bloom at the beginning of the video. Thanks for giving Sunday window shopping opportunity!
Nice and relaxing background song at 02:31 👍👍
Always good to see a fresh upload in my sub feed! That was a fantastic variety of retro games!
Oh snap I actually want that R type delta. And the lady with the X carved on her chest is the debut album of "X Japan" who are basically the godfathers of jrock/metal.
Should've known, lol. I like X Japan, but Dennis, that guy LOVES X Japan.
@@MadPanicGaming Hey Kid, what's the mysterious theme name 00:39? It's so soothing and mysterious at the same?
First part of the video showing a little bit of Japan + Retro Game Hunting + Kid Shoryuken = INSTANTLY LIKE!!! :)
HARD OFF is amazing.
great hardoff tour :)
And I always live to look at a map where you were in the videos.
Thanks for naming the stations/districts :)
Oh man.... Used to go that street when I was in ICU in 2011-2012
You are making me cry man
Love your video game hunting tours, Jim!
Great video again Jim. Thank you for taking the effort to bringing us all that gaming goodness. :)
My pleasure. :)
Now this is what a Hard Off should look like! Impressive how many boxed Super Famicom games they had, and a nice shelf of PC Engine too!
I was very happy with this one. I'll definitely be back.
Nice video! That used to be my favourite HardOff in Tokyo few years back. They always had nice LaserDiscs too and their large junk section was great.
I had a look through the junk section as well. I'm not a laser disc collector myself but if I ever decide to get into it, I know where to go.
hike and a half to the middle of nowhere , gotta do that traveling to get the good stuff, great video mate , so jealous
Hey tbere kidshoryuken! How ive been missing your game hunting videos. Specially when u give us a little perspective pf japan lifestyle and archtecture!!! Sorry for my bad english. And keep up the good work. You are my favorite channel
25:54 Magical Tetris Challenge - I had the Game Boy Color version when I was little and it was the first game I heard the Capcom splash screen jingle on 😄
Another good video. Nice to see you got a lot of vidya there. Also loving the choice of music, man.
“Warranty helps lube the deal”
Lol so good!
Love this channel...Can't wait to get back to Japan...
This music is AWESOME!
The music in here is superb. Can I get an OST on vinyl?
I'll get to work pressing some copies.
Another awesome game hunt video!
The quality changed wow looking good Jim!
Cool video, would be nice to have in the description the music tracks used.
09:15 that's 1st album of Japanese band called "X". dunno why they put it there tho lol. nice video. thanks.
Looks like Jim is having fun as usual. 8^)
Anthony..
Love these videos. Looking forward to more 😀😀😀
Wow its been a while since ive been to a hard off of that magnitude great finds especially on the pc engine games. Ive been slowly building my pcengine library its always a plesant discovery to come across them.
I'm very happy that you showed the GameCube some appreciation. However, I think that the reason why you don't see as much GameCube is because it sold a lot worse in Japan than it did overseas. The fact that you can still find great prices on GameCube titles is relieving to my ears.
wait. Tokyo have a district named " Musashi" ?
So cool
Yes, it's part of Musashino city in west Tokyo.
Musashi is the old name of Tokyo (Edo) & Saitama prefecture.
Was it just customary for Japanese people to keep their games complete in box? One store in Japan has more CIB games than an entire state here in the U.S.
oh yeah the ranma 1/2 game! that's 'bakuretsu rantou hen' the one that DTMC brought to the US! I know because I recently bought that one and what I'm guessing is the prequel (which was localized as street combat) and should be arriving this week. I have a retron 2 that I recently learned has no problems playing import SFC stuff so I've been hunting down some of those games.
I'll check some Playstation 1 and 2 games in Hard off Soon. Hmmm, I like the most fan baseball and puzzle games too.
I actually happened to have a box Fujitsu fm towns Marty in my collection... I bought it probably like a year ago, and let me tell you, that thing was very, very expensive, it came with 5 games as well.. Splatter house version of it is arcade perfect gore violence and all!!! A little history about it, it was actually the first 32bit console ever released. Unfortunately, it was a Japanese exclusive, just like, with a lot of other things, we really missed out. Love your videos, I always put them on my switch. While I'm actually working from home🤣🤣
I love this place
The price differences are craaaazzyyy
This video made me want to spend all my saving on an airplane ticket to Japan. Just to stroll around this store :)
These box arts are the glory of videogaming. Please try next time to show that simcity or the sims game or any japanese version of a very american game.
That intro music was so smooth that my shorts automatically came off 🍺
Was surprised to see Tiger hand helds in Japan I always thought that was just an American thing
how i can buy ? im far away not in japan did they have website ????
Gotta run through those junk deals too..
Lots of Puyo Puyo and Goemon in this shop. Pretty much down to 2 Goemon's I want (I don't own an N64, so those aren't destined for my collection anytime soon), Ooedo Daikaiten PS1, which is pricey, and Hoshizorashi Dynamites Arawaru, or whatever it is called on GBC, plays like Goemon 2 SFC. As for Puyo Puyo, just Puyo Pop GBA, and the last 2 GBC games, Sun and Yon, recently picked up the PS1 version of Yon finally, took a few years to snag one for a decent price on Ebay.
I see the SFC Kirby's Dream Land 3 cart goes for far cheaper in the shops there than it does on Ebay. Got it recently too, along with Kirby Super Deluxe SFC, Super Deluxe was cheap, KDL3 ran me a little over $30 for a loose cart, and was the cheapest one on Evilbay. Magical Drop 2 SFC is one I am after, US sellers on Ebay rarely sell them, there's one now, but it is not the time of year that I buy games, and it is the final Magical Drop I need, I have a sunfaded boxed copy of the first SFC game, a complete Saturn copy of 2 and 3, the PS1 version of the first game and Magical Drop F on PS3 via PSN (the Saturn and PS1 standalone versions of MD1 replaced the tarot card characters with awful characters), and Magical Drop 3 Plus Wonderful, which has an extra disc for the first MD, and it is a straight port with the tarot card characters intact. There are 2 Japanese releases for MD3 Plus 1, a Data East release, and a Taito rerelease, I own the latter.
Bro, whats the song after the intro.. I swear I know it. Great vids man!
I hate ot when enormous Ramen signs get in your way. Terrible. Jim, the music is awesome, love the arnie Ramen commercial, this and more, is why I watch man. What game is that first song from?!?
What good timing! I just got back from a Hardoff in Niigata. I'm jealous about the amount of stock you guys have. I've always browsed, but today was the first time I picked anything up. I picked up a boxed copy of Chrono Trigger for 1100 yen, which like you said is much cheaper than even loose copy of a North American version. I also got a boxed Seiken Densetsu 2 boxed Pokemon Gold, and a loose Pokemon Silver. This might get addicting.
The only problem is I have no consoles for them yet. I wish I had at least brought my GBC. Do you have any recommendations when shopping for used game consoles like the Super Famicom?
Nevermind. I didn't realize/remember that you already have 2 guides for this lol.
Best Friday the 13th kill from part 4 Marty mcflys dad
Cork screw and meat cleaver combo, nice.
That walking montage in the beginning was awesome but I must ask, did you find any sailors?
Nope, too far north of Yokosuka for that, might run into some airmen though.
@@MadPanicGaming darn, a plane ticket to get to Wan Chai is too expensive
Show me the Glass Money Case TM!
lady with a giant X on the chest is an album by x japan I believe
I really want the super famicom final fantasy games all cib but the shipping on eBay is ridiculous right now.
Was there a Junk section there?
Shenmue music at the beginning, right? :)
Hey Jimmy, not trying to be mean, but why do you call the Genesis as the Mega Drive, as well as the Sega CD as the Mega CD, Mega Man as Rockman, and the Turbo-Grafx 16 as the PC Engine?
"Genesis" - North American name for Sega's 16-bit console called the Mega Drive in the rest of the world.
"Sega CD" - North American name for Sega's 16-bit CD-ROM add-on, called the Mega CD in most of the rest of the world.
"Mega Man" - the name in the Western world of the video games known as Rockman in Japan.
"TurboGrafx-16" - the name in North America of NEC's console known as the PC Engine in Japan (in Europe, it's TurboGrafx without the "16").
There are more, too:
"Nintendo Entertainment System" - renaming and redesign for the Western world of Nintendo's 8-bit console known as the Family Computer / Famicom in Japan.
"Super Nintendo Entertainment System" - renaming for the Western world (and additionally redesign in North America) of Nintendo's 16-bit console known as the Super Famicom in Japan.
lol Arnie made noodle ads?
What's the music at 6.20?
What's that song in the beginning? :O
Damn ur lucky
What’s the deal with Japan having so many retro games and the unites states is so bare and non existent? Love the Videos also!!!
7min for a intro lmao
What wrong with 1080p
